NO, NO, NO!!! Do not take your pet to this clinic. I made that mistake of using this vet. My vet retired. Unless you enjoying spending lots of time sitting and waiting for a doc and putting your pet through double procedures so you can pad the doctor's pockets, stay away. Dr. Baas is amazing, and everyone is super friendly. The doctor was very informative and they offer great prices for shots for the Shreveport Bossier area. I have been using this vet for awhile now and have never had a problem with anything they have done to any of my furbabbies. I recently had gotten a shelter dog who suffers from separation anxiety when I leave her , also has a skin condition that pops up here and there. Both Doctor Steve and Doctor Brad have helped me with her issues and I love that every time I call or come in they are there to listen to the issues we have instead of just poking her like other vets have. I moved to this clinic because of Dr. Baas. She is the BEST and you can tell that she genuinely cares for your pet. The person who came to take Cumpet back for his weight, etc. introduced herself to him and let him get comfortable first. I was really impressed by that. These docs have been our vet for roughly the last ten years, and we've always had a good experience. My dog passed away unexpectedly while I was out of town, and they were unbelievable with my very emotional wife. The entire staff was so thoughtful and caring that it still brings tears to my eyes three weeks later. It was gut-wrenching for me not to be here to help her through it. Thank you all for standing in for me and treating her with such compassion when she really needed it. We have no animals at present, but I will be back if and when we gain a new family member. When my husband moved with our 11 year old yellow lab from Colorado to Shreveport, we set up an appointment at Southern Hills Animal Hospital. He was immediately thrilled with Dr. Tiffany Bell. His exact words were that she spent more time with our Boy in ONE appointment than his previous veterinarian had spent with him in all visits combined. In subsequent visits, when Dr. Bell wasn't on duty, Dr. Brad Everson and Dr. Baas took care of our boys and both were phenomenal, caring, thorough, knowledgeable, and pretty much every positive adjective you could use to describe a veterinarian. Last night we had to make the difficult choice to end the suffering of our 13 year old lab. Dr. Brad examined him and ran tests when we brought him in sick, and then insisted we come IN to talk to him about the results. He was very detailed in his description and his willingness to pursue whichever option we preferred. Every single person in the office was patient, kind, accommodating, and supportive. We spent a LOT of time loving on him, petting him, etc., and I have no doubt some of the staff would have stayed all night to accommodate us. When the time came to administer the medication, Dr. Bass explained everything thoroughly and went slowly and gently. I don't EVER wish that anyone has to go through this or make this decision, but if you do, THIS is the place to be.Read Less

Southern Hills Animal Hospital is the best! They offer top notch service! My fur baby is seen by Dr. Everson. The receptionist greet all guest with a friendly smile. I seem to get in & out very quickly! The doctors and nurses communicate very when giving prescription and sharing there finding regarding your puppies. They have 6 veterinarian at this hospital. So, no matter what you can always squeeze in at the last minute. They're open 6 days a week. New customer get a starter kit that include a large bag of puppy food. They also provide a excellent guides for new pet parents. Read Less

I've been a customer for almost 20 years now and during that time I've been to 3 other vets looking for someone who treats our animals just as well but is closer to where we live. If there's better care in Shreveport I can't find it, I can't actually find any other vet that comes close. There prices are as reasonable as you can find here and they are very careful to review charges with you before they provide services. Only negative for me is where there offices are in relation to where I live but I've found it's well worth the drive. Read Less

these people are great, been off work for 2 months from c4, c5, and c6 fusion surgery. could not really afford to bring my dog in to get checked out, she had been whining for 2 months. they are fixin her up right now, and workin with me on the bill. all i can say is yall are a blessing. thank you very much will always bring my pets here for now on! Overcharged! Gave me a bag of items, didn't explain cost just added to my bill. NOT once, twice. ($50 for a bag of glucosamine snacks, twice!) Ladies at the desk are rude and not discreet with your business. The doctor seemed as if he just knew what was going on but when I talked over the phone, just made up stuff like he remembered. I took our 6 week old puppy Pugsly Ann in today, we are new to the area so was a little nervous about using a vet we have never heard of, I read all of the reviews on every vet near me and saw this animal clinic seemed to have the very best reviews, and so have it they are only a mile down from my home!! As soon as we got there we were greeted by the very friendly staff at the front, filled out the necessary paperwork and was called back almost instantly!! The vet tech was so very sweet and just adored my little Pugsly!! Dr. Everson was so kind and gentle, explained everything in detail that I needed to do with my new little pup!! When checking out, the receptionist was also so very kind, she wanted to hold and love on my little Pugsly as if she were her own!! Actually she AND the vet tech did this!! If I could rate this a 10 I certainly would!! Thank you all for easing my mind and making me feel confident about choosing YOU as my NEW pet providers/physicians!!! Huge thank you to Dr. Baas and the wonderful staff that stayed late last Friday to make sure my baby was taken care of! It was my first time to the clinic and they were amazing! My kitty was sick and they helped come up with a diagnosis after a few tests and had my baby feeling better within a few days! Very compassionate, you can tell they really care about your pet. I adopted a kitten and a dog from Petsavers and was refered to Southern Hills animal hospital. Blessings from above. They work with Petsavers in the initial mandatory shots for our kitten and our puppy. When my husband and I got the bill, we looked at each other in pleasant surprise. More than reasonable . The other 2 vets we went to in the Shreveport area were so expensive. Thank you Southern Hills animal hospital, for me being able to afford health care for all 3 of our pets. My dog immediately loved the Doctor . I trust my dogs behavior when she snuggled up to the Doctor. Just love coming here. I have been taking my dog here for years. My favorite vet there is Dr Brad. He spends extra time with the clients to address their concerns. When he leaves the room I feel confident that my dog is getting the best treatment. The vet has recently remodeled and I have not been there since they did that.
