Dr. Wise is amazing! Our baby, Harley, tested positive for heart worms, despite having been in heart worm preventatives since We got him just over a year ago, but Dr. Wise and her staff were super quick to address the situation and discuss all of our options with us. Update for 13 April 2018: Dr. Wise isn't here today as she has been out sick, but a vet friend of hers from Alexandria is here and she's fantastic! The staff is amazing as always and we know our pets are in the best hands! Everything we need, they have ready to go. When our dog, Harley, was I'll, Dr. Wise and her staff fought with the Trifexis manufacturer to get them to partially pay for Harley's treatment. I wouldn’t recommend this vet. The receptionist is nice and helpful, but Dr. Wise herself is not very personable nor did she make time for us (granted we did last minute schedule because our kitten has an infection). She didn’t make us feel like she even wanted us there, more like an inconvenience. There was another woman who escorted us to the room and when I explained to her I had looked into some symptoms and another cat I had previously had the same thing wrong, I told her that and she raised her voice with me and told me she hates when people do their own research and act like they know something. Then she took our kitten and said “how do you say her name? She’s in good hands.” And walked out to weigh her (never told us her weight either), then came in and the vet (Dr. Wise) used an unprotected thermometer anally in our kitten and she used gel, but when she took it out of her she simply sprayed it with alcohol and put it away. Umm?? Then after 3 minutes total with the vet she said she’d prescribe antibiotics for her and we could check out and leave. Get to the front desk and it’s $75 total, 45 for the vet and 30 for the medication. I understand when it comes to an animal you love, money is of no value, but with the attitude I received I can tell you $45 wasn’t worth 1 hour, much less 3 minutes with a veterinarian and the rude woman who raised her voice. I believe it deserves a 1-Star rating, but they did get her the correct medicine. — EDIT: a month later and our cat is still sick, even worse than when we originally brought her here. Worst customer service ever. Asked them to order cat food twice and 3 weeks later still no food. Also said they would call me when the doctor wrote the prescription since I then needed to find it elsewhere and never got a call of course. Not to mention the last time I took my cat there the room was absolutely nasty. The floor was covered with hair balls and slobber, apparently from the previous animal and the place smelled awful. There was even an empty soda can sitting on the table. I will never go there again! Read Less

Dr. Wise addresses all of my questions and concerns with patience and asks before running any tests that would cost extra. I recommend her highly. I even recommend her to my father-in-law, and he absolutely loves her. My in-law's former vet of 20+ years had been severely price gouging them and recently waved away a HUGE abscess on their dog as unimportant because the culture came back negative. Dr. Wise did not. She operated to removed the abscess, their dog is doing great and they were even happier that Dr. Wise didn't charge them the kind of money they were used to paying, which truly was outrageous! I cannot praise Wise Choice Animal Hospital enough. Dr. Wise and her staff are absolutely amazing. We have a little farm and trust them with the care of every single one of our animals. They have treated many of our animals and recently performed a surgery on my little goat, saving his life. We will always be happy to take our fur babies to Dr. Wise and her staff. Her prices are more than fair, especially considering how highly she is rated. Her (and her staff's) level of care and compassion can't be matched. Read Less

What a terrific staff and we LOVE Dr. Wise!! I have not had much experience caring for anything that didn't stay in a cage for their own safety in my home. I rescued a little kitten out of my back yard that had more problems than I could have imagined. 3 weeks later she is running around the house chasing everything in sight. I want to 'Thank' the staff and Dr's at Wise Animal Hospital for getting me and my baby, 'Lady Leona' in on such a short notice, as a first time patient. I took my cat several weeks ago to get her spayed. Since then, she has licked and kept her wound open. I have tried numerous things to deter her, to no avail. She ended up with an infection and I texted a friend that works at the clinic. She promptly got me in touch with the proper people and I had an appointment the very next morning. The vet tech and Dr were very friendly, prompt, and compassionate. I will be recommending this clinic to all my friends from this day forward, and I'll be a returning client as well. I liked it there. I would suggest making appointment just because it is kinda small and gets packed. But other than that I do like it there and I love that they were able to fit me in with my injured dog. It made me feel so much better. They are awsome!Read Less

First time visiting wise choice after my horrible experience at Riverside, with my pooch Sir Duke...We enjoyed our visit under the circumstances. They were busy for a Saturday morning and although we were there ten minutes before our appointment time we were not seen until fifteen minutes after...
