Dr. Newfield is fantastic! We had been to another vet 2 times for the same thing and Dr. Newfield figured out what was wring with our pet. My dog Khloe got sick on a Sunday and I was so worried about her. I saw this clinic was open and decided to take her here. They saw her right away! The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. After leaving I felt so much better and my dog was feeling better, too. I decided from now on I will be bringing all 3 of my dogs here! They're awesome! Read Less

Very unimpressed with this place. We took in an injured displaced animal from the flooding situation and she needed immediate attention. Brought her here on a Sunday, which costs $60 just to walk in the door if you aren't a current client. After explaining the situation and that she was a refugee, they had zero compassion. Treated her like she was another paycheck. We couldn't pick her up until nearly two hours after they said she would be ready. They also charged us $25 to shave the areas around her wounds. The total bill was over $200. We took her to a different vet for her follow up appointment and were treated MUCH better, and the other vet didn't charge us a penny and even gave us free heart worm meds and ran several tests to make sure nothing else was wrong since her history is unknown. All at no cost because of the situation!! The staff at Gause seems to be in the vet field only to overcharge and collect a paycheck. Read Less

No Comparison. No other pet care facilities compare to Gause Blvd Vet Hospital. The staff are incredibly caring, knowledgeable and truly enjoy helping owners and their pets. I watched them go out of their way to assist people with their pets. Even after clocking out and trying to leave in a hurry, staff member set down her purse and started assisting an elderly couple and mopping up a pet deposit. I love this place. We had to bring my dog here in an emergency. Unfortunately, he had to be euthanized, but the entire staff were so kind. We had our dog cremated and he was back home after just a few days. They even did a cast of his paw for us so we have his paw print forever. I'm so grateful that we stumbled into such loving and caring people for my dog's final moments. This is the best vet I have ever been to. The vets are knowledgeable, kind and caring. They not only take care of our dog they make sure we understand everything. The staff are wonderful. I'm not sure who likes them more, us or my dog. This is the place you want to bring your loved pets. Read Less

I have been going to GBVH since 2002 for my dogs, and I could not be happier! The level of communication about your pet's health, from the doctors to the staff/receptionist is 100%. They go the extra mile. I have always loved Dr Blust, and Dr Newfield (new owner/manager) has brought the same level of care, communication, and detailed attention to the practice. We (and my dogs!) love them both!! The groomer is awesome as well - they really do care about our pets, and are #1 in our book! P.S. - I LOVE their 7 days a week appointments too! Read Less

Absolutely the best Vet!!!! I used a different Vet out of the Bay area and had a problem come up on the weekend my Vet was closed so I came to Gause and stayed!!! Best staff and Vet I've ever met!! We just had our first visit with a new litter of Boxer puppies. The staff was courteous and very attentive, they got us back after only a few minutes of waiting and the vet was very gentle with our babies. Great experience and we will definitely be going back. UPDATE - We've had 3 visits now and excellent service every single time!! The vets and the staff are amazing, they always get us in in a timely manner and are very thorough. Super caring and they ALWAYS call me the next day to see how our babies are doing. I am so beyond happy with our choice of vet!! Read Less

I have no doubt that Sir Pumpkin received excellent and loving care here. The vet called me several times while I was away and I appreciated the good communication. And the hours are very convenient. That being said, I almost fell over when I saw the bill which was almost twice as much as I expected it to be. Upon arrival, the assistant who took Sir Pumpkin from me expressed concern about his ears which showed some dark colored buildup. I have seen it before, and was not worried about it. I just thought they were dirty. But she asked me if I wanted the doctor to take a look at them, so I agreed. The next day I received a call from the vet who said the substance was just dirt and wax buildup that had been taken care of, but that he now had diarrhea. I agreed to him treating Sir Pumpkin for that, although I was pretty sure it was not a big deal. When I went to pick up my pet 10 days later, I was presented with a bill for over $322!! This included $42 for an office visit, $15 for the ear cleaning, $20 for ointment and $88 for administering medication in addition to the boarding costs!! The care was thorough and loving, but the bill was ludicrous with (now) obvious attempts to add every possible service and dollar to the total amount due. For this reason, I do not recommend this animal hospital and will not return. Read Less

I can't express enough how much we love and adore Gause Veterinary Dr's and Staff! Had it not been for them , I would have lost my lab in April! Riley had 2 surgeries and spent 2 weeks there and received the best care and so much love from them. Dr.Wayne knows Riley so well and Riley knows them. He is a big part of our family and being almost 13 years old, each check up is important. I couldn't be more grateful for both the Dr's and appreciate all the care they give Riley and my kitten Oliver! Thank you from the bottom of your hearts!!! Read Less
