We love all the DOC's and staff at Slidell Vet.They are very passionate about your pet and their care. We have Labs and as you know they are busy dogs and have always been healthy, lived long almost 16 yrs. Well when you get one that has ear, allergies, food intolerance, weight that's when you really get to know your Vet. Terrible service. I was changed an exam and the Dr. didn't even look at my kitten. He didn't look for fleas, check his ears or eyes. He didn't even listen to his heartbeat. I understand I'm paying for the Dr.'s time to do a test but at the same time if I'm paying for an exam I believe my kitten deserves to be checked out. Read Less

Can't say enough positive things about the staff, service and price. I brought my 17 y/o blind Chinese Crested in to have his nails trimmed. We live in Lafayette and will often wait till we visit family in Slidell just to use this vet. Very laid back atmosphere but at the same time the care our Bostons receive is very comprehensive and thorough. They have done everything for us from annual checkups to actual surgeries and every interaction has been great. On our last trip one of the veterinarians had mentioned that based on some symptoms our dog was exhibiting that she may possibly have Cushings disease. Sure enough upon lab work a month later back home it was a spot on diagnosis. If you want high quality care coming from seasoned veterinarians at a more than fair and reasonable price then I would highly recommend Slidell Veterinary Hospital.Read Less

Just brought our new puppy to the clinic for the first time.  Everyone was very attentive, and the doctor was very informative on our dog's breed.Another dog had come in earlier in the day with Parvo, and the staff was very careful to not only let me know, but to make sure that the room was cleaned thoroughly and the staff members who cared for the other dog with Parvo had no contact with my puppy.  I love that they're very cautious!!!  Made me feel like my puppy is of utmost importance to them..thanks!Stella (the pup) got her nails trimmed, a worming, and a full once over by the doctor (not to mention a free dose of flea meds and lots of attention from the staff)...all for $47.00...very happy, and will be using this vet for now on!! I am new to the community and I called to find out the cost of my dogs medications since I spend over $600 a month on meds alone. When I called they were very unfriendly, they told me they don't carry the milligrams that I had requested, to which I responded that it is okay. I asked for a different mg price that they carry since I have another dog that takes what they offer. She paused and huffed and said very rudely "Do you have a prescription". I said, "Of course I do." She said "What is it that you are wanting?" That response was delivered so rudely that I couldn't believe my ears. I told her she was being very rude and unfriendly. I was totally shocked when she proceeded to hang up on me. I had this conversation on speaker and my family, who runs a business, could not believe the rotten customer service exchange. Can you imagine how they would treat your animals!!!! I shudder! I was so disgusted, I called back and told the person who answered "I can't believe I was just hung up on." She responded "What is it you are wanting for us" Rudely! I guess in the end, you know what they say about karma...I told her...(A litlle Pretty Woman moment here), I have 5 dogs so they lost out on $1000 a month literally! Between 5 dogs on meds, boarding (I travel with my job), heartworm pills for 5 dogs, office visits, teeth cleaning ( all 5 dogs teeth are cleaned every 2 months), bathing, flee/tick preventative, shampoos, etc. and then I hung up on her. I wonder if the veterinarian would like to know what he/she has answering his/her phone. My bet is NO. I treat my dogs as I would my family because they are family. I would not recommend this clinic. I will find a vet suited in common courtesy to take my hard earned money. You should too. Read Less

Fairly priced services and they don't sell you a bunch of merchandise that you ""need"". Most vets want to do EVERYTHING possible to put money in their pockets and your pet comes in second. Not here, the doctors and staff are sincere and honest. Read Less
