Shocking price for services. My dog had vomiting and diarrhea overnight. I took her here for treatment  (first sick dog visit). All she really needed was some inexpensive medication to get her back on track (been down this road before with dogs for decades). I saw Dr. Williams. She was very nice but there was no discussion of treatment. Is was more like "here is what we are going to do". Blood work, x-rays, 3 medications, subcutaneous fluids, special food, etc. The bill was over $500. I am still in utter shock. My old vet (retired) would have examined her, listened to her belly, checked the stool samples and then discussed options. I would have gone home with 1 or 2 meds and been out the door for about $150. This really put a dent in our budget and I will never be convinced that most of it was necessary. Chadwell Animal Hospital is the best veterinarian clinic I've ever been to, hands down. Dr. Gold is fantastic, I have the utmost faith in him. He successfully performed an eye removal on my dwarf hamster, which I honestly didn't even think was possible. The techs & front desk staff are incredibly nice & helpful. Oh and they have incredibly reasonable prices! I expected the surgery to cost so much more than what it came out to, with medication and everything. She took the time to explain the model of a dog’s knee to my daughter when she found out that my daughter was curious about. Do not take wild animals here. Since wild animals are legally not any persons property they are not a priority and it is not worth their time to treat an animal for free and take it all the way to the place they were found for free over a paying pet owner. I brought in a male Cedar Waxwing on May 3rd, 2018 with a broken wing and was assured by a lady at the front desk who had everything she said well rehearsed and insisted that the bird would absolutely be helped. She informed me that the doctor was seeing a patient at the moment and would be done in 2 to 3 hours to see the bird right after he was done. I was told I could call and check up on the bird whenever to see his progress so I was planning on calling throughout the entire process to receive updates here and there. About an hour after I dropped the cedar off I called to see if they had seen his wing yet and was connected to the same lady I handed the bird to and was told word for word, "Unfortunately the bird had a broken wing, so we had to humanely euthanized it." That is all they had to say, they gave me no further information other than his wing was broke so they couldn't treat him. I couldn't have felt more betrayed. R.I.P. Kiwi Read Less

I love Chadwell animal hospital so much so I want to tell my own personal story on how I started coming here. A few years ago I had a guinea pig that had a severe abscess that needed to be drained. I took her to a vet in Baltimore that charge me $250 and did absolutely nothing but telling me that since they don't seek exotic pets I have to take her to a place called Chadwell Animal Hospital. The only great good thing they told me was this great Animal Hospital that will treat exotic pets, charge me 250 was ridiculous when they did absolutely nothing. Anyway it was a blessing in disguise because ever since then I've been taking my guinea pig to Chadwell and they were able to remove her abscess via surgery, even kept her overnight. It was a success story as she even lived a few more good years before she passed from old age. Anyone who has guinea pigs know they only live an hour job 3 to 7 years so even after having surgery for her to live that much longer was a blessing. I now take my chihuahua here and have nothing but good things to say about this place. They take good care of her, they are always polite and professional, and I love Dr. Williams! I had Dr. Uri for my guinea pig, but she's no longer at the practice. My parents and my sister also take their dogs here because they are just that good and you will not regret taking your animal there. They're also reasonably priced as well and they see emergency animals. I originally brought a rabbit in for emergency medical attention. Although they did everything humanly possible, my pet passed away. I am now taking my parrot to Chadwell. There are very few small animal veterinarians available - especially on a Saturday. The staff is very friendly, the facility clean, and Dr. Gold puts his heart into his work. I noted that he aids wild life "critters" as well. A big plus for me to see any vet give of themselves freely. It shows that they are truly in their field for the right reason. Read Less

I love Chadwell! As a first time pet owner adopting a kitten, I was worried about every noise, sneeze, and gag coming from my little fluff ball. The staff was so sweet and helpful during my first visit for Luna's appointment. Nicole, who was at the front desk when I arrived, was a breath of fresh air! So welcoming, helpful, and even gave me a little towel sprayed with a calming spray to drape over my carrier to calm my cat down from all the barking in the waiting room. Luna was seen by Dr. Cheryl Williams who handled her so gently and carefully, you could tell how much show loves animals and enjoys her job! We ultimately learned Luna just had a little cold and needed a little assistant with a furball. I had 2 prescriptions filled (one hairball gel and an antibiotic) and both were filled right on the spot and at a reasonable price. I love the staff here and Luna was so well taken care of. We've always been fans of Chadwell, and had been taking our pets there until we moved out of the area. I recently had an issue with my dog and my new vet was not open weekends so I went back to Chadwell. The office is large, clean, and accommodating. I was quickly checked in and taken back with the vet who was very sweet and extremely helpful (not sure her name). After being seen and given the prescriptions, I was in back in the waiting area to get my bill to check out. I waited a few minutes, then 10 minutes turned to 15, to 20. I went up to the desk to check on it, and the woman (blonde hair) told me that I needed to sit down and wait; that they would call me when my bill was ready. After waiting 35 minutes I got up again and asked another of the receptionists, requesting to have my bill mailed as I'd been waiting nearly 40 minutes JUST TO PAY - this one was extremely helpful and actually took the effort to find out what was going on. She determined there had been an error and that was why my bill hadn't come out yet. She figured it out within a couple minutes and gave me a discount for having to wait so long. She was AWESOME and extremely helpful. The other two receptionists couldn't be bothered and were super rude. I would have waited there all day if it were up to them. I'm giving 4 stars for the experience I had with the vet and the one good receptionist/tech. The other receptionists need to get it together. Customers are supposed to be #1. Read Less

I have brought my furry babies to Chadwell Animal Hospital for 13 years now. The front desk staff is friendly and efficient. The vet techs are SO very good with my babies and make them feel at ease. The vet's themselves, Dr. Ruby being my favorite, never cease to amaze me with their knowledge. The vets have never rushed me whether my concerns are small or large. I have had several babies with serious diseases and the vets had such amazing knowledge and support to put my mind at ease. I had an emergency with my ball python and of course had to work that day as well. Even though they were already booked they not only saw me same day but we're able to squeeze me in early. Dr. Williams was very knowledgeable and personable, the staff were efficient, and the price for treatment was not only reasonable but surprisingly affordable. My daughter's tortoise has been seen at Chadwell. We are new to the tortoise world so we had many, many questions in addition to our concerns that she could be sick. Dr. Haskin was very helpful and patient. She answered all of our questions and the technician taught us how to give our tortoise shots in her arm. I have an 11 year old Red Eared Slider turtle and wouldn't take her anywhere else! All the staff are super helpful and accommodating. I have never been as comfortable with other vets because they didn't seem to know enough about my "exotic pet" or even take her care very seriously. I cannot begin to say how happy we are with this place. We have many critters, including a good number or reptiles and have never been anything more than just satisfied with our past vets. Many horror stories as well, including the folks at Banfield who butchered our dog. These folks not only have great customer service, I am so sick of places that take your business but can't look at you, smile, or half the time acknowledge you are there. We must have interacted with 6 to 8 people working here, besides the vet, and every one was friendly. Not only that you can tell they actually love animals, not just a job for these people!  The prices were fair and they did not try and charge you for stuff your pet didn't need. I take my dogs to see Dr. Williams at Chadwell and I have found her to be very passionate and kind towards my babies and myself. She is very dedicated to figuring out my puppy's eye issues and the staff has been consistently friendly. The staff behind the counter love animals and come out from behind the counter just to get some love from the pets every once in a while. The lab techs are extremely kind as well. I've been going to Chadwell for over 6 years and when I moved 7 months ago to an apartment almost an hour away from Chadwell, I couldn't get myself to part from them so I drive almost an hour every time I need to got to the vet. We switched from Greenbriar to Chadwell about 3 years ago. We have 2 lab mixes and a Russian blue cat. They take very good care of our 3 animals. They're usually pretty quick when we're there, which is great because we also have a toddler who can sit still for long. Their pricing is phenomenal, especially compared to Greenbriar. I have been a dog owner my whole life.   Last year I rescued a baby rabbit from a meat market.  I had NO idea what I was doing or where to start, I just fell in love and he became our 3rd "dog". I was also new to the Baltimore area and did not have a vet yet.   When it came time to neuter him last year,  I was so anxious and worried and did A LOT of research to find a trusted vet who specialized in rabbits.  Every rabbit lover and rabbit rescue in the area pointed me to Chadwell.  And they were right!  We made the extra commute and it was WELL worth it.  Recently we found ourselves dealing with an upper respiratory infection in our bunny in the middle of the night.  We had gotten some help from the animal ER in Bel Air to the best of their ability until we could get to Chadwell.  This experience just gave us this feeling of even more comfort knowing we picked the best place to take our little guy.They are friendly,  clean, you NEVER have to wait long and they are very helpful and informative.   You can tell they genuinely care about every animal of all sizes and types that set foot into the office and are willing to help educate every pet owner when necessary.Gizmo (our rabbit) sees Dr. Tamie Haskin.  She truly has a gift and is good at what she does.  I trust every decision we make with her about the care of our rabbit.  She is so kind and very intelligent!   We also have 2 dogs who are due very soon for a vet appointment.   We had debated on continuing to drive back to our old vet in PA for the time being but now we know we are definitely going to be bringing them to Chadwell without a doubt.  We feel like we have found one of the best veterinary offices we have ever been to and can confidently make the switch now!Thank you Chadwell.  You are truly a team of wonderful people who excel at what they do from the front door to the treatment rooms! I'm a big fan of Chadwell. The place is always clean, and while the staff is always busy as can be, I never feel neglected.  If I was going to change anything about this place, I'd add more people to work the front desk - they're always swamped, and it seems to be what holds up your visit (checking in, checking out, paying).Anyhow, I'm incredibly happy with every interaction I've ever had with them. I have four pets, and they've all received great care here.On a side note, I was privileged to witness a bicycler bring in an injured bird in a box. Chadwell was happy to do what they called 'wildlife rescue' and treat the bird at no cost (though they did accept a donation from the guy). Read Less

If you  value you pets, DON'T  take them to So Called Doctor Gold!!! Took my capuchin Monkey there and he didn't come back alive. He is at fault, he should have given him antibiotics the first night we were there. No, he sent us home... he was still sick 3 days later and took him back, he says he has a infection!   wow, really? you should have known that the first night .He was warm to the touch, ( fever) duh! He says he wanted to keep him for about 4 hours , I get a call hour later , oh sorry we lost Sparky!!! I asked why? he says, don't know? Come on, other reviews say the same stuff about him over medicating other pets. He killed my monkey and was rude and arrogant about it, nasty to me every time I went.
