I've been taking my various adopted cats and dogs to both the cat and dog side of the practice for 25+ years. I believe the care and service to be top notch. Dr. Longo & her staff have taken the time with each animal, some with sad stories resulting in challenging medical conditions, & some simply routine. We visited the dog side of the hospital this week after adopting  a stray pup, and Dr. Elise Powell couldn't have been more helpful in her care, assessment and recommendations for Gertie. I've appreciated everyone's careover the years, from the front desk staff to the vet tech's to the doctors. They are extremely compassionate when end-of-life issues and compassion care are in order. Simply the overall best in mybook-recommend them to anyone looking for excellent vet care. Read Less

We have been with this practice for 13 years with three different dogs.  We have been very pleased with the care and compassion of Dr. Longo and her staff.  She always takes the time to do a thorough exam.  She will also recommend other specialty practices if she feels it is necessary.   I have always felt that my animals have gotten the best of care with her.  I also feel that her charges are reasonable.  Choosing to have animals is not cheap, but I have always expected to pay an educated professional doctor a reasonable price for good care.  Thank you Dr. Longo and staff! Dr. Wozinak was extremely rude to me when I took my dog in for a routine checkup. My pup is very friendly and NEVER scared of anyone, including vets. But he wouldn’t go near her without me forcing him which should have been the first red flag. She answered all of my concerned and important questions about medications and a possible surgery my dog may have needed as if I were an idiot child that she didn’t feel like dealing with. She spent all of 5 minutes with us even though there were no other patients in the waiting room. Have been taking our dog there for 3 years. Took our dog there this fall for a flu vaccination. We just wanted a flu shot. Was told they "had to give our dog a full exam" in order to give the shots, even though she just had an exam 5 months ago. OK. Our dog does get agitated at the vet, so the doctor (new doctor) was only able to give the flu vaccination during the visit, and was unable to give any sort of exam. Literally gave the flu shot, and nothing else. Took 2 minutes at the most. Clinic, including Dr. Longo, completely unwilling to waive the $55 "exam fee", which is separate from the $67 flu shot (most expensive of the 4 other clinics I called). I spoke to several people at the clinic until finally speaking with Dr. Longo. I simply asked if there was any way to waive the $55 exam fee since there was no actual exam done. I understand the reason for not being able to do the exam was because my dog is considered "aggressive", but why am I paying for a service that wasn't completed? She couldn't care less, didn't care to show any empathy whatsoever, and immediately offered to transfer our records to another clinic. Great customer service! In addition, they were steadfast in adhering to their "policy" of charging us ANOTHER $55 for another "exam" for the 2nd portion of the flu vaccination, regardless of whether or not an exam was done or not. Bottom line: couldn't care less about being ethical and charging for what was done, and super quick to tell me "if you don't like it, take your business elsewhere." The right thing to do would be to not gouge me for money, and maybe make an effort to keep a client. At the minimum, work with me a little. The wrong thing to do is to just "stick to your policy". I am not an unreasonable person, and do not write reviews hardly ever. Just want it known how this clinic treated this former customer. Plenty of other Annapolis area clinics. Re: Owners response below - Again, totally understand your concerns with being able to safely give an exam. Which is why your doctor didn't give an exam. She came in, gave the shot, and did not do any of the things you mention below. That's the point, you charged us $55 for an exam that didn't happen, intended to charge us another $55 two weeks later for the same thing, and were completely unwilling to reduce the charges or work with us. Give me one other business where you get charged for services not received, but just because you wanted the money. Really, what was the point of charging us? As nice and caring as you make your responses online look, you and the practice manager were the complete opposite when speaking with me on the phone. I tried to reason with you, you tried to get rid of us. I get it, save face in public. Just bad business practice, but hey, it's your business. And we did consult with other practices, and they said what you guys are doing is borderline unethical and that we should report you to AAHA which we intend to. Thanks for the response. Read Less

We went here for the first time with our senior cat who was starting to urinate inappropriately after we went on vacation. The Cat side of the hospital is kept separate from the other part of the hospital/clinic.  They were awesome and took good care.  The doctor was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of good advice and didn't push any treatments/pill/shots/deworming/excessive testing on her.  In fact they asked us what we wanted to do and were very nice about it when we opted for bloodwork.  We will continue to use this vet for our aging kitty. i have been going to Bay Ridge Animal Hospital for over two years. This is also known as "Annapolis Cat Hospital" which can be confusing with the signs, business cards and looking up the phone number online. But anyway, I have taken my two Bichons here as well as our new Havamalt puppy since 2011.The doctors are wonderful and so are the technicians. They are very friendly and I look forward to seeing them on my visits. There are usually no other dogs in the waiting area when arriving for the appointments (which is nice).  The cat hospital is an entirely different part of the building so there is no worry about the dogs chasing the cats! The other day I needed proof of rabies vaccination for my Bichon and they were happy to provide that within minutes of just walking into the office. That is great service to me. No charge, no problems. They were also very eager to work with my former vet in Baltimore in transferring paper work on my pups.I thoroughly recommend this veterinarian to anyone with pets in this area. Read Less

Been going to Bay Ridge Animal Hospital for about 12 years.  I started to go there when I had a really sick cat that my local vet could not diagnose.  Bay Ridge Animal Hospital has his condition diagnosed immediately.  It was a unfortunate end for my little guy, but at least he did not have to suffer.  That said, I have taken my current pet there since he was a puppy.  The staff gives my dog extra attention - they all treat my dog as if he were their own (or is it because my dog is exceptional?).  I would highly recommend Bay Ridge Animal Hospital to anyone who is looking for a vet, either for the first time, or if they're looking for a change. In addition, they were steadfast in adhering to their "policy" of charging us ANOTHER $55 for another "exam" for the 2nd portion of the flu vaccination, regardless of whether or not an exam was done or not.Bottom line: couldn't care less about being ethical and charging for what was done, and super quick to tell me "if you don't like it, take your business elsewhere." The right thing to do would be to not gouge me for money, and maybe make an effort to keep a client. At the minimum, work with me a little. The wrong thing to do is to just "stick to your policy". I am not an unreasonable person, and do not write reviews hardly ever. Just want it known how this clinic treated this former customer. Plenty of other Annapolis area clinics.Re: Owners response below - Again, totally understand your concerns with being able to safely give an exam. And we did consult with other practices, and they said what you guys are doing is borderline unethical and that we should report you to AAHA which we intend to.Thanks for the response. Read Less

This is a repeat visit to this animal hospital (aka Annapolis Cat Hospital). Last December our cat had dental surgery and the results were so good that we took our rescued dog Cora in for dental surgery yesterday. After having her #108, #208 teeth removed by Dr. Longo all is well and Cora appears to be well on her way to recovery. We appreciate the kind attention and follow up by the staff and highly recommend this great group of veterinarians. Read Less

Wish I had a mechanic similarly trustworthy. Every staff interaction has been great and the fees are very reasonable. Great service and I love the online videos. I recommend them to all.
