Last Straw! Going elsewhere. They're always trying to upsell. The latest problem is that I was told in November you can buy 12 months worth of heart worm medication now, or buy 6 months now and come back in 6 months to get the rest (it's expensive, it's good to split it up). Six months goes by and now I'm told no, you can't buy the medication, you have to come in for a full exam. Last full exam I was told my dog has ehrlichia, the ONLY symptom of her ehrlichia... a positive ehrlichia test. Another vet told me she's likely a carrier, but without symptoms there's no need to do anything else, yet APS tries to upsell you on a bunch of other invasive and unnecessary tests. Read Less

I’m so sorry we were not able to approve your request for more prescription medication. As was explained, prescription medication cannot be dispensed by our veterinarians, to a pet who has not had a physical exam in over 18 months. In order to dispense prescription medication the State of Maryland requires a veterinarian to have recent medical knowledge of a pet through a physical examination. Arnold Pet Station does not consider the annual exam an “up sell”, but good medical care. We never like to lose a client but understand if you do not agree with what we consider good medical care. We wish you well.

The owner of Arnold Pet Station said that she would consider installing video cameras after our dog was neglected during his two day stay. We did not pursue legal action because all we wanted out of this incident was for the owner to take extra measures to insure this would never happen again to another animal. I have inquired about the installation of cameras and asked if blankets were now continually changed whether wet or not...no response. Upon pickup, our dog had sores from lying on a hard floor the entire weekend. The staff did not give him any bedding to lay on after he wet his blankets the first day. He had hives all over his belly along with other issues. He was lethargic at pickup and had not eaten. Read Less

**Warning: We Had A Horrible Experience at Arnold Pet Station**
On Saturday morning we took our foxhound to Arnold Pet Station for a 2 night stay. I arrived to pick him up this morning. He appeared to be in a state of shock and did not seem to recognize us. He was covered head to toe in some sort of wet stench (maybe a combo of spilled water in the kennel, food, feces, vomit...idk). He has several sores and had hives all over his belly. His gums appeared pale and his feet were not steady. After looking at the bottom of his feet, we saw irritation between his pads. His eyes were gazed to the point that I wondered if he was sedated. I was trying so hard not to cry. The tech who walked him out seemed clueless. Maybe new(?) I can not believe she even brought him to me in the condition he was in. I think the manager and receptionist were also stumped that she brought him to me drenched and smelling so awful.
The veterinarian was called out and she did a full blood panel and checked him over for internal bleeding because his extremities seemed to look bruised to me (maybe lack of circulation?). I insisted on seeing where he was kept. The kennel had not been cleaned yet. There was food on the floor and some of his hair caught on the door bars. The water had spilled everywhere making a mess with the food. There was no blanket of any kind. Just the cement floor. Two techs were not offering any information on what happened. They just seemed confused. The tech who initially walked him out suggested (when asked about him being wet ALL OVER) that “maybe he drooled a lot”.
I tear up just thinking about that first sight I had of him being walked out, listless and not greeting us.
The choice of no stars is not an option, so consider the one star for the veterinarian that examined our boy and seemed sorrowful. Read Less

Best Vet EVER!! Dr. Carr has cared for our cats for almost 20 years. As our cats aged, they were very compassionate when we had to put them to sleep.
