I have been using Doc Side for over 10 years now. I have always been able to count on them to give me prompt, respectful and appropriate service for all of my pets. Regardless of whether it is an emergency or a routine visit, they have always taken great care of my furbabies. Most recently, performed ACL repair on my 5-year old Bayleigh. The vet tech kept me informed from when she went into surgery to follow-up several times after the surgery was completed. Gave great post-op instructions and Bayleigh is doing great.

We brought our dog here as an emergency having just arrived in Baltimore. I picked this clinic because of the website and convenient location. The staff, especially Dr Herling, provided quick diagnosis, professional and caring treatment. Dr Herling answered our questions and discussed options and cost. He even followed up by phone the next day even though he wasn't working. When it came time to say goodbye to our beloved Bobbie, Dr Herling provided caring and comforting treatment, including a hug. He allowed us privacy and as much time as we needed to say goodbye. They are awesome!

Took my senior dog in for an appointment on the same day despite being our first time at this vet because our regular vet did not have openings and we had an urgent concern about our dog without the funds for an ER visit, they were very understanding and transparent about the cost and even encouraged me on the phone to keep calling other vets in case I could find an opening earlier so my dog could be seen by a vet sooner. I found this to be some really selfless advice to give and immediately made me feel at ease with bringing my dog to them. We were recommended to take our dog to the ER to be in an oxygenated kennel but we informed them of our limited budget and they were quick to work with us and even helped us with a prescription to buy an oxygen tank so we could build our own oxygenated space (since my parents are familiar with how to build them). They even emailed my mom personally on a Saturday (a couple of days after our visit) to check on how our dog was doing.
My only wish would be that they had recommended us to go to a better ER, we were recommended to go to were definitely more money oriented and didn't show us nearly the level of care than doc-side did. It saddens me that doc-side affiliated themselves with the pet ER in Towson in this way but that might be something out of the reach of the people working at doc-side so I'm not as bothered

My dog was recently attacked by a large dog, and I had no clue what to do. I rushed here and was immidiately taken care of several techs nurses receptionists and doctors came in to repeatedly check on my dog. They were able to do immidiate surgery, and gave me great follow up care. My little dog is going to make a full recovery. The location is open, clean and professional. The staff is empathetic, caring and knows how to bribe and tempt even fussy dogs into cooperation. They will be my go to for all of my future veterinary needs.

My cat started showing symptoms of a severe ear infection (pupils different sizes), shaking all over, extreme lathargy. Doc side was able to get me an appointment quickly which was great, however told me it was a minor infection that ear drops could fix. The exam was very brief just glancing in her ears, while I explained symptoms I had seen. It has been approximately 48 hours and my cat is EXTREMELY sick with intense neurological symptoms, had she gotten the treatment she needed this would not have been the case.
They also did not fully disclose how their fee works. You pay an overall fee and then additional fees per diagnosis leading to a costly appointment for little help.

I called early on a Saturday morning after waking up and finding the kids hamster dying in her cage. I called to see if they performed euthanasia for small animals, and the woman who originally answered the phone told me it was appointment only. After telling her I was unaware the hamster would be dying that day and therefore had failed to make an appointment, she put on me on the phone with the actual receptionist who I cannot say enough nice things about.
4/5 stars because the initial greeting was very rude and not helpful. Once I was on the phone with the actual receptionist, we were standing in the (very clean) office within 30 minutes, and the vet saw us right away and was very gentle. It was much appreciated.

I took my red ear slider turtle (Tommy) into Doc Side Veterinary Medical Center sometime last month due to his eyes being swollen shut. I know he isn't an animal that you can interact with like a dog or cat, however that's my little baby. Tommy is my 8 yr old son's turtle, but again, that's my little baby and I didn't want him to get sick. When I googled veterinarians for turtles Doc Side was one of the first to come up. Doc Side looks like a traditional row house in the Fells Point/Canton area so when you go inside it's an intimate, cozy setting. The doctors and nurses were very friendly and thorough. I'm not sure how other facilities are set up, but I felt like I was taking my son to see his primary physician (meaning I didn't feel out of place). I didn't realize so many questions are asked just for a turtle. Tommy's doctor (I forgot his name, but it's in the email he sent me when he checked on Tommy) was super helpful. He gave me an in depth list of things to do for Tommy.....and guess what? It worked! Tommy is back to himself, and I'm so happy!

I have been using Doc Side for over 10 years now. I have always been able to count on them to give me prompt, respectful and appropriate service for all of my pets. We brought our dog here as an emergency having just arrived in Baltimore. I picked this clinic because of the website and convenient location. The staff, especially Dr Herling, provided quick diagnosis, professional and caring treatment. Dr Herling answered our questions and discussed options and cost. My dog was recently attacked by a large dog, and I had no clue what to do. I rushed here and was immidiately taken care of several techs nurses receptionists and doctors came in to repeatedly check on my dog. They were able to do immidiate surgery, and gave me great follow up care. My little dog is going to make a full recovery. The location is open, clean and professional. The staff is empathetic, caring and knows how to bribe and tempt even fussy dogs into cooperation. They will be my go to for all of my future veterinary needs.

Doc side was able to get me an appointment quickly which was great, however told me it was a minor infection that ear drops could fix. I took my red ear slider turtle (Tommy) into Doc Side Veterinary Medical Center sometime last month due to his eyes being swollen shut. I know he isn't an animal that you can interact with like a dog or cat, however that's my little baby. Tommy is my 8 yr old son's turtle, but again, that's my little baby and I didn't want him to get sick. When I googled veterinarians for turtles Doc Side was one of the first to come up. Doc Side looks like a traditional row house in the Fells Point/Canton area so when you go inside it's an intimate, cozy setting. The doctors and nurses were very friendly and thorough. I'm not sure how other facilities are set up, but I felt like I was taking my son to see his primary physician (meaning I didn't feel out of place). I didn't realize so many questions are asked just for a turtle. Tommy's doctor (I forgot his name, but it's in the email he sent me when he checked on Tommy) was super helpful. He gave me an in depth list of things to do for Tommy.....and guess what? It worked! Tommy is back to himself, and I'm so happy!
