The staff is great and the care they give to the animals is amazing. There were just a few times when they've added things to my bill that were not necessary and one of those times it appeared to be a technical error and they refunded me the extra amount charged without a problem. Also, the other thing that didn't quite have me feeling good was the constant suggestion for certain testing by a specific veterinarian and these dire warnings of what could happen if the situation wasn't resolved resulting in paying for multiple tests, resulting in multiple trips to the clinic. Yet when I saw another veterinarian in the same location, I was comforted to know that most dogs experience what mine was having and that even if the issue was eliminated that there would be a likelihood of it happening again all that could really be done was to treat the condition with medication. That really eased my mind and lessended my concerns. The other thing is that when my pup needed a procedure done they didn't fully inform me exactly as to how the procedure would be done and in fact even kind of misinformed me as to how it would be done so when the procedure was completed initially I was not very happy. Then the area where the procedure was done got infected which made me feel worse. But again they adequately addressed the issue and showed a lot of concern and did everything they could to make sure my pup was ok. If I could give less than one star, I would. Although in the past I had had good experiences with Eastern, last year as our friend who is a vet tech, who normally takes care of our dog, was unable to do so, I took my dog in to Eastern for her yearly shots.  I had heard that Eastern had changed, but I couldn't believe it could change that much, so I took our dog in.  We had just gone to the exam room, and the person helping us took my dog from me and said they would be back in a couple of minutes, saying he was just going to weigh her. After about 5 minutes passed I was getting concerned as to what was taking so long, and I asked someone what was going on; I was assured she was fine and was coming back shortly; 15 minutes later they brought my dog back to me, her eyes were blood red, her mouth was open and she was breathing hard, she looked haggard and fearful and it looked like something had been dragged across her face.  She was clearly traumatized. I asked what in the world did you do to my dog? You were just going to weigh her! Some woman vet came in, and only after my persistence in finding out what had happened, she stopped dodging my questions and told me they had tried to muzzle her then tried to wrap a blanket around her to work on her (WHAT??!? Why in the world would they need to muzzle her or put her in a blanket straight jacket??! She always takes her shots fine!!) This woman vet (I do not remember her name or I would definitely post it here!) was condescending, patronizing, acted as if I did not have a brain in my head. She was clearly in the wrong, I told her she should've never done anything to my dog without telling me, and that I was told she was being taken away to simply be weighed, and was just in there to get some shots! There is no reason in the world to have treated my dog like this.   That vet never apologized or explained her actions.  I received a call from the customer relations person a few days after that, he was nice but was apologetic and I again explained to him that there was no reason for them to treat my dog like this.  They should be grateful that I am not someone to jump to suing, but I have to say the thought sure crossed my mind if just to prevent someone else's dog from going through this horror.I will NEVER take my dog back to Eastern, and it's sad because apparently the vets who worked there in the past are not the ones working there when I trusted them with my poor 8-yr old dog. This vet was abusive, patronizing, played down the fact that my dog went in with a happy attitude, looking fine, then was taken back to supposedly be weighed when actually she was being muzzled & man-handled to do unauthorized work!!! This place was horrific!!! My dog still has issues going to the vet, I just took her yesterday and she was still so fearful, even though we found a wonderful caring vet.  Her traumatized reaction yesterday is what prompted me to post this; it  breaks my heart that this was so unnecessary, and that humans can be so inhumane. The vet I saw at this office was the most dishonest unethical vet I've ever taken my pet to see. If I had only known, I would have seen someone else, but I didn't know. Thank you so much EHA. My kitten had broken his leg about a week and a half ago, and I was having tons of issues out of our normal vet trying to get him in for surgery. I called EHA in hopes they could help, and they definitely did. Rachel at the front was extremely helpful, and helped me as best she could. I got an appointment with Dr Kaufman for within 24 hours. Dr Kaufman is a great doc, so friendly and informative, and really worked his magic as far as getting a reasonable surgery bill. Nice space that, as I understand, will soon be enlarged and renovated. The front desk were friendly and helpful. The vet my dog saw, Dr. Warner-Jones, was gentle and spoke to me plainly about procedures, what they were going to do, and, unlike any other vet I'd been to, she showed me approximately how much it was going to cost. That was excellent! The BIG downside was the time it took to get everything done - 2-1/2 hours for a relatively uncomplicated visit. We came here as our regular vet couldn't see us and we were headed out of town and needed a particular medicine for our pup - so a deadline that wasn't at all Eastern Animal Hospital's fault but still a wait that I thought too long. I took my dog here for nearly 11 years until his passing a few weeks ago. They are very pricey and I've had issues with other vets here over our time at eastern but in my dogs last ~year of life, we met with Dr. Krista Rieckert. She was always very kind and understanding. I called A LOT when my buddy was sick, towards the end, and she always made time to speak at some point that day to address my concerns. Even if it was by calling at 10pm at the end of her shift. I could tell she truly cared. When we finally made the decision to say goodbye to my beloved Chico, she cried with us. It moved me to see he was not just another old sick dog to her. He wasn't just another humane euthanizing for the week. He was my Chico, he was a good boy and he deserved more than what life dealt him at the end.. Thank you Dr. Rieckert. My dog was covered with hives and the lady at the front desk had already called for a tech to come get him before we even made it in the door with him. She had seen the hives on him when we got out of the truck with him. They took him straight back, examined him and got meds started right away. This was my first time taking my dog but not the first time at this animal clinic. We had to wait quite a bit for the vet to see my dog but it was well worth the wait. The staff at Eastern Animal Hospital are warm, friendly, and compassionate. We have taken our dog to Dr. Kaufman for the past 9 years and he's never been anything but great, but we have also had great experiences with Dr. Warner-Jones and Dr. McMichael. The staff all knew our dog by name, and shared in our grief when we had to say goodbye to him recently. The parking situation is not great, but they are moving to new location soon...behind the Wawa right down the street, so I imagine that the parking will improve dramatically. Lastly, many people I know tell me that Eastern Animal Hospital is overpriced, and that may be true because I don't "shop around"...but there's no substitute for the care that our dog has received over the years and I'd gladly bring any animals we get in the future to Eastern. We really love the folks at EAH. This is where we've taken our 8 month old puppy for all of his care. Dr. Kauffman and Dr. Molinelli are our favorites, and we've had great experiences with many of the techs and front desk staff. It's more expensive than other vet hospitals in town, but I think it's worth it for better care. They're reasonably sensitive about cost constraints and I've always felt like they're interested in minimizing any unnecessary treatments. It's also not the fastest clinic (try not to ever make a Saturday appointment if you can help it), so don't go there if you're in a rush. But we're always impressed with this place and we're looking forward to when their new space opens up later this year (because they're definitely running out of room, especially parking). Read Less

I will not take my animals anywhere else. The staff and my 2 vets are great. They did a great job handling my 2 Bengal cats and my dog. This place is worth every penny for a piece of mind when you need a surgery. My dog loves going to the vet which makes this place A+++ in my book. This place is seriously as good as it's gonna get! This place literally helped me when Dundalk Animal hospital wouldn't. I will never ever go to DAH again. I will continue to go to Eastern Animal Hospital. My cat scuttles is a male cat who's had a urethra blockage in the past and I knew that's what was happening I knew the signs. I took him to DAH the night before and they said they couldn't get a catheter in him to even look at his urine so they told me that he had a UTI. I knew deep down this isn't a UTI this is a blockage yet again. We had one about 4-5 years ago.  So I called the next morning to EAH at 8:00 AM and told the girl my problem she said can you get here within 15-30 minutes and I told her yes! I went in and they said they were gonna take care of him. The vet tech was very nice as well who came and got him to take him back. Dr. Barker is the nicest vet ever. I like that she's young and cares unlike Dr. Foster at DAH.  She told me he had a urethra blockage which I knew and she said she was glad I knew the signs and caught this early. The only downside to EAH  is the prices but hey I would rather pay more money then take him some place else where he will get misdiagnosed.  He stayed there for 3 days over thanksgiving as well and we picked him up on Black Friday.  I loved the staff. Thank god for Care Credit because $2,000 is a lot but well worth it then him dying or being in pain. Wonderful veterinary practice!! This past Friday, Eastern Animal Hospital saw my very ill and elderly cat, Ernie, as a walk in. The office was clean and cheerful with unique pet-centric artwork on the walls. We waited less than 15 minutes before Chris, the vet tech, came to take us back. He was very sweet and good with Ernie, who didn't do well in medical situations. We were seen by Dr. Warner-Jones, who was warm, professional, kind, and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, my sweet boy passed that morning, but the staff at EAH made a heartbreaking situation as comfortable and gentle as they could. They even took a paw print for me to have as a keepsake of my beloved Ernie. They were so caring and helpful that I will sing their praises to anyone in the Baltimore area with pets. Today I had the pleasure of having Bobbi assist with my cat. She is the best vet tech assistant I've ever had anywhere. My cat had peed in in the carrier. Bobbi took charge and cleaned up everything and gently wiped my cat up too. While examining him, she was through and gentle and talked to him. She made him so relaxed. This was my first time bringing my dog CoCo to Eastern Animal Hospital.  She was seen and treated by Dr. Vivien Kraselski for a really bad ear infection.  She is the best and CoCo absolutely loves her!!!! Also, she does follow-up calls to see how your pet is doing. Used this vet a few times for my elderly chihuahua. I was repeatedly told he needed multiple teeth extracted and they had this new state of the art technology for dental procedures. They said it was $900+. I set the appointment for routine blood work prior to teeth cleaning. I waited a very long time in waiting room and asked a few times of the status of blood work and if I could have my dog back. They sorta acted like they really didn't know which dog belonged to me. My pup is a 4lb chihuahua and very light color. They returned him too me with a giant bruised neck. I suppose they pulled blood from his neck but it was instantly purple and covered the majority of his neck. Needless to say, I didn't return after this. I visited my old vet who used to see this dog continuously and was told the complete opposite. I was told my dog could use a teeth cleaning but it didn't have to happen ASAP and it was $600 less then Eastern Animal Hospital price. I think they really up charge people but I'm frightened at the way they took blood from my little guy. Read Less

We visited Eastern Animal Hospital based on the recommendations of a friend and the strong reviews online.  The staff was excellent, our vet tech Bobbi and Dr. McMichael were both friendly and very professional.  While our kitty is a love-bug at home, at the vet office he becomes a vicious and angry beast.  They were very understanding and carefully explain how it would be best to examine him if he were sedated.  He received a thorough exam and has back to his grumpy self in no time.  There prices are significantly less than of an unnamed pet hospital (that is on a hill) in Towson.  We would definitely return to EAH. Patient and good with our pets, who are not especially obedient or happy to go to the vet. Doctors are honest and happy to clarify costs and benefits of tests or procedures, and they also have good advice that doesn't seem to be cookie cutter advice from a database, but real expertise. They give prompt test results over the phone. We've gone here for many years for different pets, and see no reason to stop. Read Less

I took my dog Zeus to Dr. Kraselski. They told me he had an inoperable tumor and it was apparent that the kindest way to show him how much I love him was to let him go. It was one of the hardest things I've had to go through as he was my best friend for over 10 years. But Dr. Kraselski was extremely empathic, caring, and made the process easier for Zeus and tI. She gave us all the time we needed, even well after closing hours. If it would have been another pet hospital that only cared about bringing patients in and getting them out the door quickly, this terrible experience would've been that much more difficult.Overall the facility is clean and their staff is quick, efficient, and kind. I can't say enough good things about Eastern Animal Hospital, so I'm writing my first Yelp review of all time about them! They were super accommodating of my not-friendly-towards-dogs dog and eased all of my concerns about bringing my rescued Pit to the vet for the first time since adopting her. Upon arrival, I checked in and told the receptionist that I would prefer to fill out our paperwork in the car as my dog gets very stressed around other dogs, and there were 2 other dogs in the waiting room. They went ABOVE and beyond-- a staff member came out to my car to tell me they had an empty exam room where we could wait privately for our appointment. We would've been just fine waiting in the car but this was a much nicer (and warmer!) option. Once we were in the room, Cierra the vet tech came in and consoled all of my new mom fears. She talked me through the vaccines my dog was due for and wasn't pushy at all when I declined one of the vaccines (for kennel cough-- my dog doesn't EVER interact with other dogs, so it seemed unnecessary.) I let her know that I was 100% more nervous about this visit than my dog was, and she reassured me and was super kind. She was awesome with my dog and took her to a different room for blood work. My dog came back with her tail wagging and a big smile, despite just having her blood drawn. What!?Dr. King was also awesome with my dog, talking to me about heartworm medication and dental care super realistically. Really the best part of this whole situation was the way that the staff dealt with me-- the overly-emotional-first-time dog mom. He was non-judgmental, very honest/upfront, and not at all pushy about what we should do to keep my dog as healthy as possible. From intake up until check-out, where the staff member told me about a loyalty program that was 100% optional and not at all necessary, I can't say enough great things about my experience and the staff at Eastern Animal Hospital. I felt like they went above and beyond for me and my dog, but it seemed like that was truly just their standard of service. Yelp reviews are what encouraged me to bring my dog to EAH, so I felt obligated to do my part-- this vet really is all that it's cracked up to be. We will be back :o) Read Less

Dr. King and Dr. McIntyre are our favorite go-to doctors here, but all of the doctors are calming, informative, and effective veterinarians. All of the staff remember us when we come back and are so kind to both of our children who are an orange tabby with feline urinary tract disease and lower bladder disease and a deaf pitbull with an allergy to complex carbohydrates. They treat them like gold, have appointments available virtually any time--which is important when Jangles has allergy flare ups and Alice has UTI's that sometimes cause blood to form in his urine. They are so good with telling you the cost and working with you to ensure the most honest, affordable service. My partner and I are in our 20's and work in the service industry while also attending school full time--we don't have a lot of money and it is never a big issue here the way it was at other vets. They don't judge you or make you feel any sort of way about your financial capabilities and make sure your babies receive the care they need. I want to also say that we started coming here after taking our dog, Jangles to Fall's Road Animal Hospital for 2 years where they pushed their sponsored promotional food on us when Jangles was very ill from severe food allergy. We saw many clinicians at their office and after those 2 years, saw one that we had not previously made an appointment with who reprimanded us for not being aware of his allergies. They were our veterinarians who we saw regularly, who ignored our reports of constant, serious diarrhea, foot chewing, and stress. That was more offensive than you could imagine when we were begging for help and footing the bill for them to make money and not treat our child. We switched to Eastern after being recommended by many of our dog-walking clients and they immediately identified the allergy and started him on a hydrolyzed protein diet that solved his allergy. They have never pushed a product on us at all in any of our visits. Read Less

Simply wonderful. The front desk staff came out as soon as we arrived to see if we needed immediate attention as we were on the schedule for neck pain. The technician, Bobbi, was excellent and very knowledgeable. Dr. King was fantastic. Very thorough and kind with my sweet, scared pup. He called the next morning which was Saturday, Christmas Eve... to personally to review the blood work results and inquire how she was doing. He could have easily asked a technician to do this. Most importantly my sweet little pup had struggled for 11 days of extreme pain and within 24 hours of the right mix of medicine and TLC, she is a new dog. I could not be more impressed. I have been taking my rescue, Foxy Brown, to Eastern Animal Hospital since I got her (6 years) and I always have an amazing experience. Foxy is a very anxious dog, and the staff are always so kind and patient with her. We discovered an irregularity in her heartbeat during a routine visit, and Dr. Macintyre (sp?) was soooo sweet to me and Foxy, didnt judge my hypochondria when it comes to my girl, and did NOT press me on testing unless I chose to get it so that I could stop worrying. Mocha, my 4 year old Boxer/Pit mix LOVES visiting Eastern Animal Hospital! Staff could not be more friendly, welcoming and helpful. I have absolutely no worries when Mocha is there for a check up or even an overnight stay. Dr. Jamie Molinelli is the absolute best! She genuinely cares about my dog, gives me great advice/tips and treats Mocha like her own. They have great distraction techniques for drawing blood, giving shots, etc. so that your pet won't even notice what is being done to them. I went to them with an abandoned cat that I just wanted to help... I only went to them (instead of my regular vet) because it was sunday and the poor thing seemed unwell and distressed. I repeatedly said I have extreme financial limitations and that any actual "treatment" while I foster him would have to be staggered. The doctor said "we all have limitations" and then proceeded to LIE to me, play on my emotions and my compassion and brow beat me into buying medication (unproven unregulated "vitamin supplements") for an extra 42 dollars that could have gone (should have gone) to the care and feeding of the feral cat colony that I found the dumped cat on. So, sure.... they have cool hipster techs and fancy citrus smelling cleaner for the waiting room but only cause they preyed upon your compassion. ZERO FOR YOU! Read Less

We have been taking all three of our pets to Eastern Animal Hospital for four years now.  I cannot say enough about the care and service that you get. ALL of the staff are wonderful, caring and compassionate. i want to thank you all. last weekend you all put together such a group effort to try and save my baby boy, Max, from a vicious unprovoked attack that occurred while we were taking a beautiful saturday morning walk down the street. i want you to know, in Max's memory, i have now dedicated my life to bring awareness to irresponsible dog owners and to dog interaction. Mary (Max's sister who had to witness his horrific attack) was abused when i rescued her. i tried everything, then i thought.. how about a brother. Max gave her everything that she needed. while right now Mary and i are very sad and confused, instead of putting any more anger in to this person who allowed his dog to do this, we are putting this wake up call to bring awareness. negligent dog owners and bad dog training will never end, but we will do our best to bring awareness and to minimize it. all while helping other dogs who need a "Max." please check out Max's page and add him as a friend. Dr. McIntyre is the absolute best. She is very friendly and loving to my dog ella. She is a very good listener and takes my observations into account. She is very informative with providing updated information about medical treatment. Also she doesnt make me feel pressured to make decisions. I believe I had Dr. McIntyre, she did a great job of getting Vlad to approach her, I usually have to pull him to the center of the room and hold him tightly. I also really appreciated having the cost discussion directly with her. Literally every vet I visit runs away when it comes to pricing and makes the tech have that talk, but it was a much more natural and quicker experience with her in the room. I liked the guy in the lobby offering water/coffee/Halloween candy as well. $68 if you don't make an appointment beforehand would be my only caution, but they're open till 8 so they can actually handle situations that you don't discover until you get home from work. have been bringing my pets to Eastern Animal even before it moved to its present location. Our family always used Doctor White then Jonathan bought the practice. I bring my pets here because they get quality care and all but one veterinarian has had a kind and compassionate nature. Jonathan knows how to pick quality doctors. I saw Dr. McMichaels today and she is a favorite of mine - she loves my cats and has answered my questions and concerns as if we had been forever friends. Becky is another favorite because she calls me by name and has a caring loving personality. The Vet tech was another super neat person who truely cared for my cat and called her by name. I am a lazy reviewer for almost all things (yelped restaurants, Amazon purchases) but I could not wait to give Dr. Chelsea McIntyre a review! We are regulars at Light Street Animal Hospital with Dr. T, but came in because of a suspected UTI on Labor Day, when almost every other vet was closed. She came in, sat down with our pup on the floor and gave him a bunch of dog cookies. Within a minute, our dog (who is typically very anxious at the vet) was walking all over her lap and wagging his tail. She also gave him cookies while getting his flu shots, which he loved. Positive associations with getting shots?! She is clearly the real deal. Not only was she young/warm/bubbly (insert cute doggie-talk voice)she was willing to explain everything going on in depth and left me with no questions... which is hard to do :).  I was surprised how much time she was willing to give us as walk-ins. She spent a considerable amount of time talking with us, and when she left to get the results of our dog's urinalysis, she was back in less than 2 minutes. Now that we are living in the Canton area, we are most definitely making her our regular vet!The facilities are very clean, and pretty darn cool with all the colorful Andy-Warhol-Esque dog pics on the wall. I can't comment on affordability, since our doggie insurance usually does the trick, but the cost of The visit didn't stand out as more expensive than any other place. We walked in on a fully-booked day as walk-ins and were seen within 5 minutes. They also have free wifi and ample seating in the waiting room. We ended up here because our puppy had an emergency and we stayed because we loved it! The love that all of the staff and doctors have for animals is obvious. The staff is so friendly. They never make me feel like I am asking any silly questions and they treat my dog as if she is their own. Dr. King is so patient with our puppy and he spends the time to go through everything thoroughly. Our dog gets VERY excited when she sees him. I know we are getting the best care. And Dr. McIntyre even sat on the floor with our puppy to give her treats so she would be happy to be there-- and she was, very happy. I can't say enough great things about this place. They always email me reminders for vaccinations, etc. And they are always willing to schedule appointments. They also have amazing hours (although they aren't 24 hours), so that makes appointments a LOT easier to get to! Read Less

Not at all. I was referred to your hospital by my girlfriend and what a wonderful experience for both Max and I. I was amazed at how well Max was treated and taken cared of when he had to stay over night. The quality and time each staff member put into making sure he was comfortable and had lots of loving. I have been taking my Boston Terrier here for 8 years and never had a problem. The facility is clean and the waiting area is comfortable. The receptionists have always been polite. I usually schedule the annual checkup with any available veterinarian. There always gently with my dog and ask questions in regards to her health. There prices are a little on the high end but to me money is no object when it comes to my loved ones. I had to take my dog once for a moderate allergic reaction and the staff admitted her immediately. They were very good at giving me regular updates on her health. After a couple hours she was cleared to go home. I was very pleased with how they handled the situation and were very informative throughout the whole process. Great place to come! Read Less

We were visiting family in Baltimore and had a wounded beagle-- it was a Sunday and we worried that it would be tough to find a vet to see him. Found Eastern AH on Google & couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. They were able to see us quickly on a weekend afternoon, and they were kind & professional & definitely experts with pets. The desk staff was welcoming and efficient, the tech that visited first in the room was extra friendly and made us & our dog feel at ease. The doctor was bright, offered options, explained things well, and made us feel that we were so lucky to have stumbled into this hospital. They took super great care of Richard the beagle, and their prices weren't outrageous (especially for a weekend's urgent visit). We wish we lived in Baltimore just to have this vet nearby!Read Less

Don't do it Dog, it's just not worth it!!! This place should be ashamed to call themselves a hospital. They overmedicated my dog, and charged me another $100.00 to give her other medicine to make he better. If it weren't for the front staff, I'd give them five stars. The vets and the techs are nice, knowledgeable and competent. The front staff is more of a mixed bag, range from friendly to plain old rude and nasty. Outrageously expensive. I have been going to Eastern for almost 3 years, and each time its gotten more and more pricey. This last visit will be my last. I took my cat in for a broken nail that looked infected. The vet looked at the toe, then gave him a shot of antibiotics and pain med. The $60 checkup fee, the $65 dollars for the antibiotic and $25 for the pain med was a lot, but that didn't shock me. What did put me over the edge was the $60 fee for the needles used for injections..... That's right, $30 dollars per needle!! The receptionist explained that it 'covers the cost for needles and disposal'. Give me a break, we all know that needles cost 5 cents. They are just ripping off honest pet owners.
