Since I was a child, Bel Air Veterinary Hospital has been our go-to for our dogs’ needs. Now, as a 24-year-old, I thought it was a no-brainer to bring my own dog I had rescued to this establishment. I have unfortunately been plagued with uncomfortable visits, due to a specific rude and condescending veterinarian. Before he gathers full information about the animals he examimes, he judges the owners very harshly. He made a comment about my dog’s teeth being broken, mind you, I rescued my dog when she was 6 years old and had shown signs of being abused in her old life, but he insinuated that I had been the one to allow her teeth to be broken. He even spoke down to my mom about failure to purchase expensive medicated shampoo for my late grandmother's dog, when my mom had just started taking full responsibility for her. Still trying to be polite during this painfully awkward and annoying examination, we commented that we appreciate the holistic, home remedies that we have been suggested in the past to accommodate issues such as hot spots and skin allergies. Of course, there was something negative to be said about that, in which he does not support such treatments. Granted, the specific appointment I am referring to happened months ago, but it still angers me the way in which he spoke to my mother. I have not been back to this vet, and I truly dread coming to get my dog’s arthritis medicine refilled. The bright spot is that I have always had such a good experience with another one of the vets as well as the wonderful techs and receptionists. Hopefully something changes. Read Less
