We have taken our cats to A Cat Clinic for over 25 years so obviously we are very happy with the loving care we have received during that time. The veterinarians really care about their patients, and both have the patience and make the time to quiet our nervous felines before and during the exam. We hear from one of the vets as soon as any test results come in, and they don€t mind answering my questions. A Cat Clinic also has very nice boarding facilities with a view of the woods to help entertain €our boys.€ As much as we like dogs, we especially like that there are no woofers in the waiting area that might cause our kitties extra anxiety. In short, A Cat Clinic is a great veterinary service. Highly recommended. About two years ago, we switched from Kentland Veterinary Clinic to A Cat Clinic, and we never looked back. We have three cats, one of them in a very serious condition (chronic kidney failure, and a heart arrhythmia), and we are extremely happy with the care all our pets are receiving at A Cat Clinic. It is a very quiet place, which is big plus, as your cats will be less stressed. All the facilities are an immaculately clean and very pleasant. The staff is superb, very courteous, well-mannered, friendly and helpful. So, right from the start you feel that you are in a place where you and your cats are welcomed. Our veterinarian is Dr. Dale Rubenstein, and she is simply fantastic. First, it is a pleasure to interact with her, she is a very nice person, who is composed and very respectful, and she always makes sure that all of your questions are answered. Most importantly, I am impressed by her attitude toward our pets. You can easily tell that she genuinely cares. She is very gentle, and tries to make our cat(s) as comfortable as possible. I also greatly appreciate is that she remembers facts about our cats, she always keeps us informed on test results in a timely manner (i.e., as soon as the results are ready). What I personally like very much, is that we don't need to contact any specialists to schedule any additional tests or examinations (it was common for our previous veterinary clinic, we had to do most of the work ourselves); Dr. Rubenstein talks with specialists on our behalf, and is taking care of everything. I have taken my cats to Cat Clinic for least 4 years. Yesterday, my older cat was walking funny and not himself. This morning he didn't want to eat or move. I called the Cat Clinic telling the girl that answered the phone I needed to bring in my cat and the reasons why, clearly hearing in my voice I was upset. She told me they had no appointments today and I should take him to the emergency animal hospital. I told her I've been bringing my cats there for years and I've never NOT been able to bring my cat or dog to any of my vets if there was an emergency. She rudely asked me if I wanted her to ask the doctor and put me on hold. I decided to hang up and call Germantown Vet, where we took our dog. I had forgotten I had the cats paperwork sent over just incase. Germantown once understanding what I was saying, I was very upset by that time, asked me how soon I could bring my cat in, and the girl on her phone told me not to worry, she was sorry I was so upset and that he would be ok. On the way Dr Rubenstein called my cell phone told me her appointment ended early I told her I was on my way to Germantown Vet and what I was told by her receptionist, to take him to emergency vet, Rubenstein told me we just couldn't see you right away, like that would even be ok, I told her no I was told you couldn't see me at all. Proceeded to tell her that is not acceptable as well as letting her know I would share what's happened. Do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else.Read Less

I had to make burial arrangements for my cat and I needed someone to 'watch over' her in the meantime. The folks at A Cat Clinic were courteous and professional. Even though it took me a while to make the final arrangements, they were accommodating to my needs and I felt no pressure from them. When I did finally picked up my cat, they did not ask for payment. Holy cow. I just walked in my door from coming home from the vet's and it was so exceptional I just had to review them right away. Dr. Mustillo is a phenomenal vet, very patient and kind, and the techs are wonderful as well. I have a literal demon for a cat, who has had very bad vet experiences in the past, and they handled her so gently and patiently, and were so full of information. They even gave me a supplement that might help remove some of the "demon" from my girl. They were also great with my new kitten, and very attentive. Seriously, the best vet I've ever had. I'm kicking myself for not finding this clinic soon.Read Less

recently moved from Houston Texas to Silver Spring. When in Houston, I had the awesome services of Houston Cat Hospital and Dr. Kathleen Smith there, when they took awesome care of my 3 cats. Being a single guy, my cats are like my children and I want them taken care of very well. And with one of them having various health issues ever since I adopted him, having a great Vet is prime concern for me. I won't go into the details of how I wound up over 30 minutes away (remember, I live in Silver Spring) but suffice it to say, I'm thrilled I did. When I moved, my "sickly" cat was in the middle of a health issue so I had to see someone quickly. Dr. Smith told me what she suggested to solve his issue. When I brought them to see Dr. Rubenstein at A Cat Clinic, she checked him out, called Houston Cat Hospital for a copy of his records, and long-story-short, she came up with a different solution to his issue, which happened to be a bit cheaper too! Mind you, I'll pay what I have to do in order for my babies to be healthy, but it's nice that she didn't just take what Dr Smith had suggested. Even today, I brought all 3 of them in for a nail trim and had asked Dr. Rubenstein if she wanted to examine him, since he's finishing up his antibiotics. She asked if he was doing well, and I said yes and she said that was good enough for her! The entire staff is so sweet, and very accommodating. It's really tough for me since I live so far away, but my cats are worth it. I even got a really nice handwritten card from them once I started going to their clinic signed by the entire staff, welcoming me to their clinic. Very nice touch indeed!Read Less

Sometimes love means having to do the difficult thing. On Monday, after 22 years, it was time for Ginger to go to Rainbow Bridge. Quite possibly the most tender and sweet departure I've had to go through with one of my furry children. Kudos to Dr. Dale and everyone at A Cat Clinic for the kindness and respect they showed Ginger that morning. She was able to lie in my arms purring for an hour and we even went outside briefly so she could feel the sunshine and the breeze which she always loved.
