I've taken my cats to many vets over the years, but I drive from SW DC because Dr. Robbins and her staff are absolutely amazing.  I've been taking my cats to her for about 5 or 6  years and she's taken excellent care of them.  I've never been rushed through my appointment and both she and the techs are kind and gentle.  Her prices are fair and reasonable, making it significantly easier for people to properly take care of their pets.  I've not had a better experience with another practice!! I’ve been to a lot of veterinarian hospitals and even worked in one. The rates and service here are unbeatable. I moved over 10 miles away this summer and still make my way out here. One of my Manx cats took off for >month. I have his 2 brothers...With the help of 'PAWBOOST', he was located...i brought him in, the re-inoculated him due to a canine bite, and proceeded to put him on a medication-that has worked wonders - he no longer takes to running off...and I have several felines, and am always sent post card for any of the 3 Manx. Their staff is terrific, and I used to go to Dr. Tinneti (who retired), but all my records were passed on to Dr.Robbins & staff, without a hitch. Note that it used to be called 'Briggs Chaney', but they have moved to the Burtonsville Animal Hospital, ON Rt 198, close to Old Columbia Pike, which is the given address. Don't let it throw you. You can park in the Church lot (allowed) if the small lot in front of this warm, reasonable & capable Animal Hospital (Burtonsville, now), on Rte 198 (having moved from their prior location). There will be no disappointment in the care and assessment of your mammalian pet. I highly recommend Dr.Suzanne Roberts/Dr. Banish & a terrific staff, now located at the Burtonsville Animal Hospital. They switched locations. Their Hospital is located in the Burtonsville Animal Hospital. They just did not take the sign down. The doctor is great! She has been there since my dog was a puppy and he is 8 now. She knows all her stuff. The new location smelled horrible when I got in and their was just dried pee in the hall. It does not take long for someone to wipe pee up. I did not like the scenery walking into the new location. The staff is informative but not super friendly. I'm still going to go here becuase of the doctor for sure. Read Less

So thankful to Briggs Chaney Animal Hospital for their support and kindness when our family had to put down our 17-year-old Husky-Golden Retriever named Luck "Lucky" last Saturday. It was the first time our family had to put down a beloved pet and it was a scary and heartbreaking experience but Briggs Chaney's staff made it as easy as possible for us. I have been going to BCAH for more than 20 years. They have cared for my dogs and cats. I really love the people there - they are caring and professional. I've only come here a couple times, but you can tell that Dr. Robbins and her assistants all really love animals. They do their best to help and explain things thoroughly. She was very tender with my cat and seemed to pinpoint the problem pretty quickly. Dr. Robbins and her team are the best. They are always 1. Super kind, 2. Willing to answer a million questions, and 3. And are so gentle with our dog. We initially came to the practice because of their reduced rate for the first appointment for dogs adopted at the Montgomery County rescue. Since then, we have stayed with them! We have had a couple times where we have had to come in last minute, and they always try their best to get us in as fast as possible. I came in for an emergency visit at 5:30pm after calling at 5:15pm. My new kitten was coughing and sounded like she couldn't breathe, and I was extremely panicked. The people at the front desk were extremely kind, and they allowed me to come in even though they are not an emergency hospital and even though I was a new patient. Everyone was extremely kind and I was in and out within one hour. The staff were wonderful with my kitten and were patient with me as I explained my concerns. Although I was planning to take my cat to my family's vet, I will be sticking with Briggs Chaney Animal Hospital because it is a wonderful place. Read Less

The animals really do come first at this clinic. Every time I call in as soon as they hear my name they ask about my pets and always follow up. When money becomes an issue for us, the clinic works with us and puts the health and safety of my fit children first. I've lived in 6 states and have never found a vet this great anywhere else! Briggs Chaney Animal Hospital is where we take our many elderly rescue animals.  We have always had exemplary fast service, affordable care, and thoughtful compassionate help at Briggs Chaney.  Dr. Suzanne Robbins is a warm, compassionate, thoughtful, and responsive vet.  Her technical staff are kind, careful, charming, and excellent with animals.This small animal hospital has most amenities, reasonable rates, and a live in staff of animals that Dr. Robbins has rescue from owners who did not want to save them.  The staff are able to take x-rays, formulate medications, and provide prescription cat food on site.  They help solve problems about any item you may need help with, such as, for example, locating and ordering the perfect food for a special condition.Dr. Robbins provided thoughtful and good service to us when one of our elderly animals with a heart condition had a degenerative disease.  She helped us keep in comfortable and identified medications that mitigated the disease, since surgery and more drastic measures were not possible for him.  She saw us through this grueling period with grace and when he could no longer continue, she helped us say goodbye.  We are deeply grateful for her help during this difficult time. We've been searching for a new vet since we moved to the area 1 year ago. Had been taking out kitties to a pretty expensive vet that i felt was just so-so, and there were great reviews on here so decided to give it a try. We recently acquired a new kitten, who had been dewormed at our prior vet, and he needed his next round of shots. I had high hopes given reviews on here. The place is small, and not especially clean or dirty. The exam rooms are also small with no place to sit, and large cold metal tables for the animals. There was a dirty needle in the sink  when we arrived in the exam room, an no one bothered to remove it. After the tech did his initial assessment, the vet came in, and before much introduction, started to bring a syringe of medicine toward my kitten's mouth, without even telling me what it was or what it was for! Turns out she was going to give him more deworming medicine after he's already had 3 doses, and hadn't even offered to check another stool sample. Her physical exam lasted less than one minute, never even palpated his belly. The price was good, but not sure that really means anything. I'd gladly pay double for a good experience and a vet i trust. She did find a few fleas on him, so now we're treating the entire feline family, so i guess that's good. I may try them one more time, but we may still be looking for another vet in the area...sigh. Read Less

I've always been impressed with her kindness, patience and willingness to answer all of my questions, but this week she came through for me in the biggest way because her medical skills and caring saved my cat's life. She never gave up on him and stuck with him and kept trying. Her efforts paid off. She unblocked the blockage in his urethra and saved him. I'll always be grateful. The prices at this clinic are very fair. They are very flexible with scheduling and really work to accommodate your needs. The staff are always very loving and gentle with the animals. Dr. Robbins is A-Mazing.  She is what every veterinarian should strive to be.  She is thoughtful, compassionate, she listens & informs, she never rushes you either.  I can also tell how good of a vet/doctor she is because she hires good staff.  Everyone I have encountered there on her staff have been bright minded, earnest, and animal lovers.  I say this because I have been to vets and there was zero love + high bill.  That is another thing I'd like to point out.  Dr. Robbins has always been honest with her pricing with me.  She has fair prices + on top of that coupled with the genuine attention she gives you, it's an amazing deal.  Always from her biggest fan Muffy. Dr. Robbins and her staff have been outstanding in providing medical services to my cat.  Dr. Robbins diagnosed my cat with diabetes about a year ago, and she is truly devoted and caring, going above and beyond the call of duty to give my cat the best treatment for his needs. She has made herself available to me, even when the office was closed, and when I had to leave my cat at her office over a period of a few days, she personally called me with regular updates.  It's uncommon to find a vet who is so sincerely devoted to pet healthcare and well being.
