In the past, I had a fairly neutral experience with Dr. Tinetti. The staff are nice, facility clean. Dr. Tinetti's bedside manner leaves something to be desired, but I usually appreciated his straight forward, no sugar coating approach. This year's annual visit with my 12.5 yo Rottweiler mix went very poorly. I found a relatively small mass (smaller than a golf ball) on her abdomen. During her visit, I asked for senior bloodwork & for this mass to be examined. Dr. Tinetti was surprised that I wanted bloodwork performed, so I explained to him why I felt it important to have senior bloodwork done... Not that I should have to convince him that I should willingly spend more money on my dog. When he examined the mass on her abdomen, he said to me, "It's probably a malignant tumor. Might be what kills her, might be something else that kills her. If it were my dog at this age, I'd leave it." I of course wanted to smack him!! How insensitive and unrealistic. More importantly, she's MY dog, not his and he should offer solutions, not succumb to doom & gloom. I then posed a valid question, what if it gets bigger? His response, "well, if it gets too big I guess I'll have to do something about it."Needless to say, it got bigger, rapidly. Although it didn't grow very much from when i found it until her visit with Dr. Tinetti, it grew exponentially after. Within 3wks after her visit, it was the size of a tennis ball & I was making an appointment with another vet for a second opinion. Being a healthcare provider myself, I understood the urgency of aggressively approaching this now large mass. Thankfully, the awesome vet I took her to identified the type of mass & scheduled her for surgery immediately. She is recovering well after having much more of her removed (along with the tumor) than would have been necessary had the cancerous mass been addressed when I initially found it. Now I have her for years to come instead of having her in an urn!OTHER GREAT LOCAL VET OPTIONS.... CHEAPER ISN'T ALWAYS BETTER.... BE YOUR PETS ADVOCATE. Read Less
