Total SUCCESS! My dog went to a different animal eye care hospital prior to us discovering this awesome doc, and it was terrifying and costly. That doc charged us 6 times the amount 2 years prior for a diamond burr imbridement surgery. Two weeks ago, we walked into this place and we found home. My dog loved the doc and all the staff, even to the point she didn't need to be muzzled or held down like a criminal like in the other place. The vibe was so healing. I'm also happy to report the surgery was successful and my dog's corneal ulcer is totally healed. Read Less

When I took my shih-tzu Buddy to see Dr Isherwood due to ulcers resulting from glaucoma due to diabetes, she was very caring and personable. She spent time with him and us. We never felt hurried. She was very professional and we felt very comfortable with her and knew our baby was in good hands. She is gentle with her bedside manner, yet aggressive with the treatment. She treated his bad eye as long as possible, but let us know in the beginning that the prognosis for his eye was poor. He kept that eye for a year before she had to perform an enucleation. Meanwhile she treated the other eye at the same time and saved it for an addition year. Unfortunately the diabetes took it's toll on him and both eyes had to be enucleated. Dr Isherwood and her entire staff were exceptional! My husband and I, as well as our Buddy, absolutely love her! I highly recommend her for your animal's needs. Read Less

Written on Sept 26, 2016: My wife and I are relieved and delighted to have our dog Dixie back with us, thanks to Dr. Walesby. Dixie - a "Dorky" (Yorkshire/Dachshund mix) -- was seven years old when she developed a walnut sized mast cell cancer on her left rear leg. It was so big that our usual vet gave us the dire prognosis of amputation or even death. It was a horrible shock. Our vet recommended Dr. Walesby and we're glad he did! Her staff and office personnel were very friendly and professional. The doctor herself explained all the medical details, suggested treatment, surgical procedure and probable outcome. The surgery - though serious - was performed one day and we got Dixie back the next. We were astonished! You could certainly see where that awful tumor had been removed (14 stitches!) but Dixie herself was conscious, alert, happy, even perky. As it turned out, all of the cancer had been caught in time and removed. That was about a month ago - now Dixie is the same as before, playing, eating, napping, snacking or watching for intruders. We recommend Dr. Walesby 100%, absolutely! Dixie doesn't even limp, though before the surgery we expected to have a three legged dog instead of our delightful dorky. I was extremely displeased with the service this clinic provided to my parents and their dog. Their 11 year old boston terrier had been experiencing eye problems, and a series of extensive testing was performed including x-rays, blood work, etc to ensure he did not have cancer or disease. Dr. Isherwood said that everything looked "normal" and that the dog simply had an issue with his tear ducts. Over $3000 for a painful surgery and a long period recovery, the dog was still having issues. Turns out the x-rays that were taken pre-procedure showed an abnormality indicating cancer, but the doctors at this office didn't think to mention that to my parents for further investigation. MY PARENTS DOG DIED YESTERDAY. The last months of his life were spent recovering from a surgery that was a complete waste of money, time, stress and pain. He could've lived the rest of his life, no matter how long that would have been, without having to suffer through an unnecessary surgery that only filled the wallets of the employees of this clinic. The whole point of pre-procedure testing and x-rays is to shed light on any abnormalities present... WHY my parents weren't told about his abnormal results until AFTER the surgery is a true crime. If this had happened with a doctor for humans this would be complete malpractice. Shame on this office and doctors for rushing into a surgery, putting a sick dog through stress and pain, causing distress to my family and stealing money that could have and should have been put toward cancer treatment.Read Less
