There are no words to describe truly how wonderful Dr. Pelura is! He is more than a Vet, because he makes you feel like family. I first came to see Dr. P when my Amstaff Terrier had a mass on his leg. He presented me with all the possibilities of what I could be facing with my pup. While I waited for the lab results, he personally called and text messaged me with updates and then the final results. Everything worked out great. No cancer.
I have also encountered several ripped nails with my dog and Dr. P has saved me the trip/costs of visiting his office by letting me just send him photos of my pup’s nail and receiving guidance via the phone.
Most recently, my pup ruptured his CCL. As you can see, he is a very active dog and has kept me busy! But nonetheless, Dr. P explained what we needed to do and reassured me he was going to be just fine. I was very nervous (of course) of the “unknown” and that he wasn’t going to perform the “traditional” repair using hardware. He prefers to use the dog’s own fascia to build the new ligaments. But he made sure to thoroughly explained the process and why it was preferred over the other CCL surgeries.
Two weeks ago, when I went to drop off my dog for his surgery, the clinic was a little busier than usual. All I needed to do was leave my dog in their kennel, but I was again nervous and still had more questions and concerns. Despite how busy the office was, Dr. P made time to come over to see me and answer any last questions I had. He went through everything again (even drew a picture of the repair) and provided me the warm reassurance I needed once more before leaving my pup in his hands.
As soon as the surgery was over, Dr. P personally called me. My pup is recovering well thanks to our Vet.
Our experience with this clinic has been absolutely wonderful. I am so thankful I found them! Read Less

Dr. Pelura is a wonderful, caring Doctor, I have had for years for my dogs. He is thorough, reasonable and never in a rush. You don't feel that you are at a chain hospital, it's personal care.

He came highly recommended by a few co-workers and I couldn't be happier. Dr. P and his staff are amazing!!!! They truly cares about your pet. My dog recently tore her ACL, not only was he one of the few vets in the area that could do this surgery, but he didn't charge me an arm and a leg, and he kept her overnight to monitor! He also gave us his cell number for emergencies (what Dr. Does that?!). My dog got a hold of a staple, irritated her leg and I was able to take pics and send them to him, then he told me what to do. He's fantastic, and his staff are amazing too! Read Less

If I could give Dr. Pelura zero stars I would. He is a very aggressive arrogant mean person. He gave me a price to neuter a ( rescued) pig I gladly raised the money for this rescue pig. I asked him for an estimate if he needed to trim his tusks , hooves or if I should have vaccines done. When I asked for an estimate for the extra work , he was present for that conversation his receptionist said she couldn't give me one right now but she would call me with an estimate . I told him I needed the estimate and he told me the receptionist would call me with the estimate as soon as she looked up the prices , before they started the procedures.Dr Peluras receptionist called me back around 1 pm and told me the pig was finished being neutered and I could pick him up after a nights stay. I immediately asked her why she hadn’t called me about the estimate for the extra work I had inquired about, I asked her if they had needed to do any extra work she said yes I asked her what the price was and she told me not to worry about it and she’d see me in the morning. I immediately felt worried so I called around and did a bunch of research to make sure I was prepared for how much it would cost to trim the tusks. I had called around to find out how much a vet charges to trim tusks and all the I estimates I got from other people was $20-$50. I was shocked that they had proceeded with the extra work, and not called me to give me an estimate . They trimed his tusks and gave him his vaccine without discussing how much the extra cost would be for the tusks and vaccine. Dr. Pelura charge me $230 dollars for trimming back the pigs tusks while he was anesthetized for the neuter. When I spoke there with the receptionist she wouldn't even tell me how much I owed. I came in the next morning to get the pig , I get the another bill, after I had already prepaid for procedures I approved and I see the doctor had charged me an extra $320 , I was shocked by the cost because I had called around and thought I was prepared. He charged me $239 to trim the pigs tusks while he was under sedation for a neuter. I politely asked Dr. Pelura why it cost so much and if there was anyway we could bring down the cost at all, then he proceeded to scream at me and tell me he was a professional and his price was his price and that's just the way it is . He also told me that if I didn't like it I could go somewhere else . I told him I really wasn't given the option to go anywhere else considering he already did the work without approving a price with me first. He made me feel cornered he yelled at me and he made me cry and he told me that I had to pay right then and there and I felt threatened . I hope that you read this so you can avoid a similar or worse scenario with this terrible doctor. Since this incident I have spoken to several other people and they have terrible Experiences with this veterinarian also. Please save yourself the horrible experience I had to go through. Read Less
