We've been going to Countryside for our Veterinary needs for many years. We have received wonderful care for our dogs through the years. The staff gets to know the dogs, so you start to be welcomed right from the front desk. The veterinary care has been excellent and compassionate. We really love Dr. Burgess, who goes the extra mile. She will always take time to explain any health concerns. They recently implemented an app and rewards program that helps us save some money, too, which is very helpful.

CAT-FRIENDLY PRACTICE! My first visit to Countryside Veterinary Clinic for Wellness checks, vaccines, and post-dental blood work for my three cats was OUTSTANDING! Dr. Soverns, Colleen at the Reception Desk, Tech Kathie, and Assistant Abby, all displayed the utmost professionalism, compassion, and patience towards myself and my cats. One of my cats is fractious and difficult to handle, much less obtain blood from. Kathie did an extraordinary job of handling this cat for blood draw and micro-chipping. I really like Dr. Soverns, and found that we have compatible views on the care of cats. Dr. Soverns listened to me and answered all my questions and concerns thoroughly, and handled all my cats with care. I was so pleased with my experience, and happy to find this cat-friendly practice! Thank you all, so much!

Elvis, the Scottie, has gone to Countryside for 10+ years. He visits for annual checkups, an occasional medical issue and to be boarded.
On every visit he is met by a smiling and friendly reception staff. They make him feel welcome because you know how concerned our pets are about visiting "The Vet".
During his visit for a checkup or medical issue, Elvis is always treated with the utmost care and the same friendly approach. Whatever is happening, receiving shots, inspecting his teeth, etc., the vet and the assistants always make him feel at ease.
We especially like Dr. Soverns. She has a very good manner with him. She is also very knowledgeable on Scotties and always takes a special interest in Elvis. If he could talk, he would say - "she's the best".
And for boarding, be it an overnight or several nights, the boarding staff takes extra good care of him. When we pick him up, he always seems to be in good spirits and good health. We trust Elvis in their care.
So overall we are very pleased with the care and service Elvis receives at Countryside Vet and to echo him - it is the best!!!

We have a cat (no kids yet) and love this practice! Everyone is so sweet and the vets always take their time with the animals. They are great about keeping you in schedule with your annual appointments. It's expensive but we don't have a point of comparison so not sure if actually overpriced like some other reviews say. It's worth it for us - we have a happy, healthy kitty!

Terribly overpriced!!! Let me start by saying that I have been going to Countryside for most of my life, growing up with pets. Over the past few years I have just had bad experiences with the staff and cost. They have not been friendly, approachable or understanding. Most recently I went to fill my dogs prescription. They gave me a 10 day supply because she was due for her annual exam (would not completely fill it). They attempted to charge me the same amount as my typical 4 month supply! When I questioned this, they told me, It is what it is.
With that said, I thought enough is enough. A friend referred me to the Cat & Dog hospital in Columbia..... Fabulous. The staff are great! The costs have literally been cut in half! I knew Countryside had been ripping me off! The annual exam, medication, and shots... were all MUCH cheaper. My total bill was cut in half.

Over the past few years I have just had bad experiences with the staff and cost. They have not been friendly, approachable or understanding. Most recently I went to fill my dogs prescription. I rushed my dog to the Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City on the weekend, where he was diagnosed with a likely back injury. After two days of Rimidyl, my dog's pain progressively got worse to the point where he was in excruciating pain. My own vet referred me to Chesapeake Vet Surgical Center, and they said they couldn't get my dog in for two weeks unless I went through their ER (paying another $500). The only other option my vet offered was a place in Bowie which didn't answer the phone. I had heard about Countryside from my neighbors, so I called and they got me in the very same day. I saw Dr. Watson, an incredible veterinarian. She gave my dog a steroid shot, which immediately and completely relieved the horrible pain he was in, and she explained that Rimidyl isn't a very effective pain killer for dogs with back injuries. She put him on a three week course of steroids, along with pepsid to prevent a stomach ulcer. She even called after I had left a message the next day to let her know that the steroid shot helped, and she reminded me to give my dog the pepsid (she really cares). I am SO blown away by this vet clinic and by Dr. Watson. I am going to switch vets and take my dogs to Countryside from now on.

We have taken all our basset hounds to Countryside Vet for over ten years. They helped us through various health issues. Our 13 year old Basset, Bailey became very sick and after realizing there was no more that could be done, they helped her to go to the "Rainbow bridge". They were always so patient with us. Last year we got a puppy basset, Maggie and took her to Countryside for all her puppy shots, etc. Last week Maggie had an appointment with at Countryside and she passed her yearly checkup with flying colors.

I switched a couple of years ago to this vet after my old vet never returned calls and raised prices as they expanded. My dog is a German Shepherd with fear aggression so trips to the vet are a nightmare, but Countryside is amazing with her which eases my anxiety. Yesterday we had our yearly exam and Dr. Watson and her assistant were just over the top amazing with her!!!!! It was by far our easiest visit and words cannot thank them enough for the patience and tolerance they have while providing herb with the best care possible!!!!!

The staff and doctors are very accommodating; our cat has heart failure and they've really gone above and beyond in guiding us through maintaining his quality of life and ensuring that he can still be groomed in a way that is minimally stressful. Thank you to Nickie, Brooke, and Dr. Watson, all of whom we saw yesterday for a visit that could have been stressful but turned out excellently, and Dr. Soverns who facilitated this particular setup. More broadly, I always trust Countryside because they make the effort to explain the what, why, and how of the options they present you with and are clearly on top of their game.

Large, very competent and caring staff makes coming here a very good experience (even when one of my dogs has done something massively unwise or is very sick). The vet's go the extra mile to explain treatment options, research oddball questions, and help me as a breeder and owner to provide topnotch care for my Shelties. Even when we moved to 45 minutes away, I come here for the best care around.... and I must pass about 10 other vet clinics to get here!

This place always treats my animals like their own. They are pricy compared to some, but you get what you pay for. I've been going to them for at least fifteen years. When my dog was diagnosed with Cushing's, it was a hard, expensive, long road, but they worked with me to assist in the financial burden, my dog was cremated through them and it was the best possible situation to expect when having your dog put down. I love the reminders, the cards for my animals birthdays. I moved to downtown Baltimore city and still go there as I haven't found better.

I've been taking my now 13 month old Cane Corso to countrywide for close to a year. I'm shocked by some of the reviews and quite honestly have a hard time believe them to be true. I've had nothing but the best experience with the vets and also the staff members....and I consider myself to be a tough critic. I also know a few people that take their pets to Countryside and have never heard any of these complaints. At any rate, I'm very happy with the service there...and so is Scottie. She actually runs through the door when she has to go in for a check up. Dogs are honest....her behavior is a clear indication that she's also happy with the service.

We saw Dr. Burgess. It was the worst experience we have ever had with a vet professional. We've seen many vets. Our dog had a large tumor on his rear leg. Dr. Burgess made immediate and unscientif...
We saw Dr. Burgess. It was the worst experience we have ever had with a vet professional. We've seen many vets. Our dog had a large tumor on his rear leg. Dr. Burgess made immediate and unscientific assumptions and gave the professional option to amputate my dog. What I mean by unscientific, she didn't even take a biopsy or gather xrays or do anything but look at our dog and feel around. Her tone was also very degrading, "How could you let it get this bad" or "I can't believe other doctors said this isn't bad."
In fact, we saw Dr. Watson less than one year before visiting Dr. Burgess and she thought our pet could be a candidate for debulking. The best part of that advice was that she actually did a biopsy and made that medical advice AFTER collecting scientific data.
In conclusion, we took our dog to Dr. Falon up in Falls Rd Animal Hospital. He successfully removed the tumor. The advice was that it was low risk, just like Dr. Watson's advice. Also just like two other practicing vet's in the area.
Bottom line, we will NEVER come back based on Dr. Burgess' unprofessional, unscientific and painfully uncomfortable bedside manner.

I have used Countryside for my personal dogs and as a volunteer for a Golden Retriever rescue. They always provide excellent and friendly service. After a rescue puppy was spayed there, the very experienced foster home reported that they had never seen such neat sutures! Drs. Burgess and Sovern were wonderful with my Scout throughout his year of chemotherapy and another 2 years of fighting off lymphoma. I love the pictures and reports the staff provides after boarding!

I've been trusting these wonderful people with my babies for many years. First with my Phoebe who passed away in 2012 at 15 yrs of age. And now with my Lizzy who is 7. Dr. Kimberly Webster is our primary doctor. We adore her! Not only is she an excellent doctor who is knowledgeable and has excellent bedside manner, but just as important she genuinely cares about her patients. I tend to be a worried mom who needs lots of reassurance. She always gives me as much time as I need. She truly goes above and beyond. The same is true for all the doctors at Countryside. It's such a relief knowing that we are in the hands of a whole practice of top notch veterinary professionals. I can't end this without a very special thank you to all the wonderful staff at Countryside. From the time we walk in the door until the time we leave we always receive the best of care from everyone. Thank you for all you do. I'm forever grateful.

We have been long time customers at countryside! Recently we brought our eldest in for blood work to check on his thyroid and kidney values. The night before I called to make an appointment and they got us in right away. When we came in for our appointment we were greeted with nothing but smiles. It is such a wonderful feeling when the staff already knows not only our names but my pets as well. It just shows that they love what they do. The vet didn't rush though the appointment and called us the next day with the results. We are lifers for sure! #countryside

We have a cat (no kids yet) and love this practice! Everyone is so sweet and the vets always take their time with the animals. They are great about keeping you in schedule with your annual appointments. It's expensive but we don't have a point of comparison so not sure if actually overpriced like some other reviews say. It's worth it for us - we have a happy, healthy kitty!

Terribly overpriced!!! Let me start by saying that I have been going to Countryside for most of my life, growing up with pets. Over the past few years I have just had bad experiences with the staff and cost. They have not been friendly, approachable or understanding. Most recently I went to fill my dogs prescription. They gave me a 10 day supply because she was due for her annual exam (would not completely fill it). They attempted to charge me the same amount as my typical 4 month supply! When I questioned this, they told me, It is what it is.
With that said, I thought enough is enough. A friend referred me to the Cat & Dog hospital in Columbia..... Fabulous. The staff are great! The costs have literally been cut in half! I knew Countryside had been ripping me off! The annual exam, medication, and shots... were all MUCH cheaper. My total bill was cut in half.

I rushed my dog to the Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City on the weekend, where he was diagnosed with a likely back injury. After two days of Rimidyl, my dog's pain progressively got worse to the point where he was in excruciating pain. My own vet referred me to Chesapeake Vet Surgical Center, and they said they couldn't get my dog in for two weeks unless I went through their ER (paying another $500). The only other option my vet offered was a place in Bowie which didn't answer the phone. I had heard about Countryside from my neighbors, so I called and they got me in the very same day. I saw Dr. Watson, an incredible veterinarian. She gave my dog a steroid shot, which immediately and completely relieved the horrible pain he was in, and she explained that Rimidyl isn't a very effective pain killer for dogs with back injuries. She put him on a three week course of steroids, along with pepsid to prevent a stomach ulcer. She even called after I had left a message the next day to let her know that the steroid shot helped, and she reminded me to give my dog the pepsid (she really cares). I am SO blown away by this vet clinic and by Dr. Watson. I am going to switch vets and take my dogs to Countryside from now on.

We have taken all our basset hounds to Countryside Vet for over ten years. They helped us through various health issues. Our 13 year old Basset, Bailey became very sick and after realizing there was no more that could be done, they helped her to go to the "Rainbow bridge". They were always so patient with us. Last year we got a puppy basset, Maggie and took her to Countryside for all her puppy shots, etc. Last week Maggie had an appointment with at Countryside and she passed her yearly checkup with flying colors.

I switched a couple of years ago to this vet after my old vet never returned calls and raised prices as they expanded. My dog is a German Shepherd with fear aggression so trips to the vet are a nightmare, but Countryside is amazing with her which eases my anxiety. Yesterday we had our yearly exam and Dr. Watson and her assistant were just over the top amazing with her!!!!! It was by far our easiest visit and words cannot thank them enough for the patience and tolerance they have while providing herb with the best care possible!!!!!

The staff and doctors are very accommodating; our cat has heart failure and they've really gone above and beyond in guiding us through maintaining his quality of life and ensuring that he can still be groomed in a way that is minimally stressful. Thank you to Nickie, Brooke, and Dr. Watson, all of whom we saw yesterday for a visit that could have been stressful but turned out excellently, and Dr. Soverns who facilitated this particular setup. More broadly, I always trust Countryside because they make the effort to explain the what, why, and how of the options they present you with and are clearly on top of their game.

Large, very competent and caring staff makes coming here a very good experience (even when one of my dogs has done something massively unwise or is very sick). The vet's go the extra mile to explain treatment options, research oddball questions, and help me as a breeder and owner to provide topnotch care for my Shelties. Even when we moved to 45 minutes away, I come here for the best care around.... and I must pass about 10 other vet clinics to get here!

This place always treats my animals like their own. They are pricy compared to some, but you get what you pay for. I've been going to them for at least fifteen years. When my dog was diagnosed with Cushing's, it was a hard, expensive, long road, but they worked with me to assist in the financial burden, my dog was cremated through them and it was the best possible situation to expect when having your dog put down. I love the reminders, the cards for my animals birthdays. I moved to downtown Baltimore city and still go there as I haven't found better.

I've been taking my now 13 month old Cane Corso to countrywide for close to a year. I'm shocked by some of the reviews and quite honestly have a hard time believe them to be true. I've had nothing but the best experience with the vets and also the staff members....and I consider myself to be a tough critic. I also know a few people that take their pets to Countryside and have never heard any of these complaints. At any rate, I'm very happy with the service there...and so is Scottie. She actually runs through the door when she has to go in for a check up. Dogs are honest....her behavior is a clear indication that she's also happy with the service.

We saw Dr. Burgess. It was the worst experience we have ever had with a vet professional. We've seen many vets. Our dog had a large tumor on his rear leg. Dr. Burgess made immediate and unscientif...
We saw Dr. Burgess. It was the worst experience we have ever had with a vet professional. We've seen many vets. Our dog had a large tumor on his rear leg. Dr. Burgess made immediate and unscientific assumptions and gave the professional option to amputate my dog. What I mean by unscientific, she didn't even take a biopsy or gather xrays or do anything but look at our dog and feel around. Her tone was also very degrading, "How could you let it get this bad" or "I can't believe other doctors said this isn't bad."
In fact, we saw Dr. Watson less than one year before visiting Dr. Burgess and she thought our pet could be a candidate for debulking. The best part of that advice was that she actually did a biopsy and made that medical advice AFTER collecting scientific data.
In conclusion, we took our dog to Dr. Falon up in Falls Rd Animal Hospital. He successfully removed the tumor. The advice was that it was low risk, just like Dr. Watson's advice. Also just like two other practicing vet's in the area.
Bottom line, we will NEVER come back based on Dr. Burgess' unprofessional, unscientific and painfully uncomfortable bedside manner.

I have used Countryside for my personal dogs and as a volunteer for a Golden Retriever rescue. They always provide excellent and friendly service. After a rescue puppy was spayed there, the very experienced foster home reported that they had never seen such neat sutures! Drs. Burgess and Sovern were wonderful with my Scout throughout his year of chemotherapy and another 2 years of fighting off lymphoma. I love the pictures and reports the staff provides after boarding!

I've been trusting these wonderful people with my babies for many years. First with my Phoebe who passed away in 2012 at 15 yrs of age. And now with my Lizzy who is 7. Dr. Kimberly Webster is our primary doctor. We adore her! Not only is she an excellent doctor who is knowledgeable and has excellent bedside manner, but just as important she genuinely cares about her patients. I tend to be a worried mom who needs lots of reassurance. She always gives me as much time as I need. She truly goes above and beyond. The same is true for all the doctors at Countryside. It's such a relief knowing that we are in the hands of a whole practice of top notch veterinary professionals. I can't end this without a very special thank you to all the wonderful staff at Countryside. From the time we walk in the door until the time we leave we always receive the best of care from everyone. Thank you for all you do. I'm forever grateful.

We have been long time customers at countryside! Recently we brought our eldest in for blood work to check on his thyroid and kidney values. The night before I called to make an appointment and they got us in right away. When we came in for our appointment we were greeted with nothing but smiles. It is such a wonderful feeling when the staff already knows not only our names but my pets as well. It just shows that they love what they do. The vet didn't rush though the appointment and called us the next day with the results. We are lifers for sure! #countryside
