My cousin brought my dog in for a same day appointment. Our normal vet did not have time available. We were worried that Pepper was sick. They were kind and took their time with him. He is anxious and gave my cousin plenty of info on the latest medicines and solutions. My cousin was so impressed with the facility and the staff that she told me to switch. So we will! They have always done well for us. Our dogs are pretty healthy so far, so it's hard for me to say how they do with really sick dogs. The service we have received for neutering and vaccinations and fleas have been good. Also, and I think this is important, when we take the dogs in they get happy and excited. On a slightly different note, we had a puppy die suddenly a few months ago. We felt terrible. The folks at Family Veterinary Clinic were very compassionate and helped us feel better. Best vet in town! The entire staff is so friendly and welcoming. I first came to Family Veterinary Clinic when my dog tore her ACL about 3 years ago. A friend recommended I get a second opinion after a nearby vet quoted me a really high price on the surgery. The quote at Family Vet was $1000 LESS than my first quote!! Beyond the price, the doctors and staff are so caring and compassionate. You can tell they LOVE to care for pets! No matter how small or big the issue, I always feel like they listen to my concerns about my pets and help me to take the best care of them. Every time my pets have had a surgery or procedure done, the staff has called to check on them and answer any questions I have. They have convenient hours and it has always been simple to make an appointment. I have been to vets before where I feel like I'm being nickle-and-dimed for every little thing and the prices are outrageous. That is not the case at all here. The techs, front desk, tea and dog treats which provide the stress of bringing a loved pet to (ugh, Dr.) are the perfect start. However, the thoroughness is the TRUE art of medicine on display with your Dr. Long gone are the days when the history and exam and simplest of questions may reveal a treatment of medicine heretofore not considered and almost always spot on. The human health care system no matter its iteration should spend a solid week observing what this kind of medicine can provide for both patient and their families. Dr. Varner- best vet in the world!  She's never too busy to return calls, take the time to answer all of your questions, and follow up after treatments.  The waiting room is pleasant and the techs and staff  are super friendly.  The prices are relatively reasonable and they offer multi-dog discounts.  We've been patrons of Family Vet for close to 20 years and wouldn't trust the health of our Shelties to anyone else. My family has been going to this clinic for a few years now. I recommend this facility to anybody with pets in the area. They have stayed open late for us on a couple occasions. First was just before a big snow storm when our German Shepherd broke a nail. They really came to our rescue then. The most recent was last night when we had to put our beloved cat to sleep. My husband took our Kitty in just before closing time and when he called me with the unfortunate prognosis, the clinic stayed open so that I had a chance to be there for her passing. We were always seen quickly, then, quite often, received a follow-up phone call in the next day or two. When we moved to Annapolis, Roxie was already a senior cat. I am extremely impressed with the quality of service Family Veterinary Clinic has provided for my two dogs. My male sheltie had been vomiting intermittently for about a week (not unusual because he has a sensitive stomach), and it was time to get him to the vet. My family is new to the area, and we chose this clinic based on the 71 five star Google reviews. They were able to schedule him within a day and treat his symptoms quickly. He returned to normal within a week, and is doing great! The care they provide reflects in every aspect of the veterinary practice, and has, by far, been the best vet experience I have ever had.
