I moved to the area a few years ago and looked for a highly rated vet for my dog. Unfortunately I landed upon Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital. Every time I came in, regardless of routine exam/vaccinations or a medical issue, I waited out in the lot for 2 hours or more (yes I had an appointment time) with my dog. I know COVID threw a wrench in things, but this happened even before that and after they claimed to have it figured out. I work, so it’s absolutely ridiculous for a vet office to expect someone to take off an entire half day or day to just get in for an exam. I saw Dr Anderson every time. He’s fine for routine exams and shots, but my dog had scabs that would appear on her ears and was a serious issue if they started bleeding. I came to them as a new patient and she was on a medication for this issue. The last vet didn’t know exactly what was going on but made their best guess that she needed this medication. I took her to Waugh Chapel and the first thing Dr. A said to do was get her off that medication. Not knowing anything about it, I followed instructions. He encouraged running a lot of ridiculously expensive tests and required me to come back for visits every few weeks. Needless to say that all added up. We ended up moving 2 hours away and I had to find another vet. That new vet diagnosed my dog within minutes of the condition she has (Pinna Vasculitis) and put her back on the medication that my dog was on previously that Dr. Anderson said she needed to get off right away. As soon as Dr. A told us to get off that medication her scabs kept reappearing. So we had to come back so many times just for him to rush in and out and say we need to run more tests. My dog has been back on this medication for some time now and we have not had an issue. I’m not exactly sure the doctors here know how to diagnose a medical issue or they are just trying everything to rake in the money. I WOULD NOT go here if you value your time or money. We have been taking our dogs to WCAH since they opened!We took our first two dogs there and ultimately, when they got old and had medical issues, they helped us make the decision to put them down and handled it with grace and professionalism. Now we have three different dogs, all of whom we take here for regular visits as well as to get their nails trimmed. Despite all of our dogs having very different personalities and sometimes being difficult, the entire staff works well with them.Dr. Anderson and Dr. Shaban are both amazing. We have seen a few other of their vets and they seem nice, but Dr. Anderson and Dr. Shaban have both really made an impression on us with how they relate to and care for the animals they treat.Despite having moved out of the area several years ago, we still take our dogs here because we love them so much. I had to rush my dog, Xena, to WCAH for an emergency, I had an appt set for later that day, but they took Xena right away, just as they were opening. Xena was given a great deal of attention and care while waiting for Dr. Anderson to arrive. Unfortunately, Xena was not able to make it through, so I walked back to be with her and she was surrounded by everyone offering her care and comfort. She wiggled her little tail for me. I'm confident they did everything they could. After I had to let Xena go, the whole staff remained very kind and sympathetic. Dr. Anderson was very helpful and understanding and even answered all my questions when I returned today, nearly a week later, to hash out what had happened. I am sad about the outcome, but happy about how everyone at WCAH handled the emergency. Xena was an adventurer by day and a snuggler at night, so no matter what kind of dog, I would recommend WCAH to anyone and am glad I started bringing Xena to WCAH. Read Less
