I moved to the area a few years ago and looked for a highly rated vet for my dog. Unfortunately I landed upon Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital. Every time I came in, regardless of routine exam/vaccinations or a medical issue, I waited out in the lot for 2 hours or more (yes I had an appointment time) with my dog. I know COVID threw a wrench in things, but this happened even before that and after they claimed to have it figured out. I work, so it’s absolutely ridiculous for a vet office to expect someone to take off an entire half day or day to just get in for an exam.
I saw Dr Anderson every time. He’s fine for routine exams and shots, but my dog had scabs that would appear on her ears and was a serious issue if they started bleeding. I came to them as a new patient and she was on a medication for this issue. The last vet didn’t know exactly what was going on but made their best guess that she needed this medication. I took her to Waugh Chapel and the first thing Dr. A said to do was get her off that medication. Not knowing anything about it, I followed instructions. He encouraged running a lot of ridiculously expensive tests and required me to come back for visits every few weeks. Needless to say that all added up. We ended up moving 2 hours away and I had to find another vet. That new vet diagnosed my dog within minutes of the condition she has (Pinna Vasculitis) and put her back on the medication that my dog was on previously that Dr. Anderson said she needed to get off right away. As soon as Dr. A told us to get off that medication her scabs kept reappearing. So we had to come back so many times just for him to rush in and out and say we need to run more tests. My dog has been back on this medication for some time now and we have not had an issue. I’m not exactly sure the doctors here know how to diagnose a medical issue or they are just trying everything to rake in the money.
I WOULD NOT go here if you value your time or money. Definitely a business doing what it does best…taking you and your pet for all you’re worth.

We have been taking our dogs to WCAH since they opened!We took our first two dogs there and ultimately, when they got old and had medical issues, they helped us make the decision to put them down and handled it with grace and professionalism. Now we have three different dogs, all of whom we take here for regular visits as well as to get their nails trimmed. Despite all of our dogs having very different personalities and sometimes being difficult, the entire staff works well with them.Dr. Anderson and Dr. Shaban are both amazing. We have seen a few other of their vets and they seem nice, but Dr. Anderson and Dr. Shaban have both really made an impression on us with how they relate to and care for the animals they treat.Despite having moved out of the area several years ago, we still take our dogs here because we love them so much.

I had to rush my dog, Xena, to WCAH for an emergency, I had an appt set for later that day, but they took Xena right away, just as they were opening. Xena was given a great deal of attention and care while waiting for Dr. Anderson to arrive. Unfortunately, Xena was not able to make it through, so I walked back to be with her and she was surrounded by everyone offering her care and comfort. She wiggled her little tail for me. I'm confident they did everything they could. After I had to let Xena go, the whole staff remained very kind and sympathetic. Dr. Anderson was very helpful and understanding and even answered all my questions when I returned today, nearly a week later, to hash out what had happened. I am sad about the outcome, but happy about how everyone at WCAH handled the emergency. Xena was an adventurer by day and a snuggler at night, so no matter what kind of dog, I would recommend WCAH to anyone and am glad I started bringing Xena to WCAH.

Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital is the best. They're amazing people who truly care about your animals. From all of the girls at the front desk, to the amazing vet techs and other veterinarians, and especially Dr. Anderson himself - they're all wonderful!! We're so very grateful for the help and care that they've given our two cats that have had a multitude of problems that we're not foreseeable when adopting our two very precious kittens. They're the absolute best and sooooo much more than we could ask for.

Our family has been a client of Doctor Anderson's for over 20 years (back when he was with Squire in Marlboro) and we would NEVER consider utilizing another vet. We travel 90 minutes one way just to enjoy the privilege of dealing with an exceptional staff that is truly committed to providing the best customer service experience possible. The standard of professionalism, ethics and caring is established with Scott Anderson and continues with his entire staff. No matter how small or large of an issue or question I have, from the moment Katie or Amanda answer the phone you understand that you are not just a client, you are family. The initial contact with any business sets the tone for the entire experience with that business, Katie has a unique ability to quickly assess our needs and address them in a courteous, polite, and friendly manner. She has always gone out her way to ensure that our interaction is outstanding. My dogs have been coming to WCAH for over 13 years, but it has really changed in the last year and I'm sorry to say we have to move on to another vet.

I had to leave my job and take my kid out of the school earlier so I can make it to my appointment at 3pm because that was the only time available they had.
The lady at the front desk was very nice and she asked me to wait for the vet assistant (this took about 10 mins) and then the assistant took us to the little room and told me that someone will take care of us shortly but after 25 mins I got out of the room and went to the front desk and they told me basically the same thing “the vet will take care of you shortly”. After 35mins of waiting for the Vet in the room, I decided to leave.
I find this VERY DISRESPECTFUL since I lost 1/2 day of work and I had to take my kid out of the school earlier.
Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital, YOU HAVE TO FIX THIS immediately, you can’t treat your clients like this…this is unacceptable!

My wife and I recently added a teacup chihuahua to our family! We found Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital via Yelp because of their amazing reviews! We took our 8 week old puppy last night for his first series of shots etc. The entire staff are all incredibly friendly, and very helpful! Heather and Dr. Andersen were the absolute best! They were very patient and understanding, and answered all of our questions and concerns! The level of customer service and care for both the pets and their owners is exceptional!! I have a 5 month old golden retriever so I am fairly new to Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital. My experience so far has been pretty awesome. Dr. Anderson is the best vet I could ask for and all the techs have been amazing. Sometimes I have had to wait up to an hour past my appointment time but once I am seen it is completely worth it. The doctors and techs take their time with us, my appointments never feel rushed, and as a first time pet owner this is very important because I had a ton of questions during my first few visits. Dr. Anderson even gave me his cell number and told me to text him should I have any questions about my puppy. It doesn't get better than that. I very highly recommend WCAH.

Thanks to a referral from my friend, Leslie Pickett, my senior poodle has been going to Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital only since December 2015. From the time I walk into the door until it is time to check out, we are treated as if we are the only ones in their care. The kindness and understanding that they have shown me has blown me away. I will be taking my rescue pup to them as well. They are an hour away from me and worth every mile of the drive!!! Compassionate, caring, humorous and straightforward. Thank you!

I can't say enough about the staff at Waugh Chapel they were very nice and very friendly and it seemed they were actually there for the care of my dog and not my money I have been having problems with another vet for the past year on finding out what's wrong with my dog and then they use scare tactics such as the word cancer and after Altra sound I was assured by Waugh Chapel that it was not cancer and will work with me on any treatment that she needs and even told me about some over-the-counter medication I can get for her I was very impressed Thank you Lisa Bland for referring me to them

With Wingo being my first dog, i am admittedly a hypochondriac with her health. With being a social worker, i. Also admittedly a penny pincher. Every time I have had to go to Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital my needs and worries are addressed just as much as the pups. They don't try to sell me stuff I don't need, they focus on providing thorough and friendly service and both me and Wingo always leave in a better mood than how we arrived. :)

Getting an emergency appointment was quick and easy, surgery went smoothly and the follow up appointments have been quick and thorough. The staff was so caring and my cat is healthy again. She had a bladder stone that was quite large and needed to be out asap.. I called around for a surgeon that specialized in English Bulldogs and we were told that he is the best around.. He was in constant contact with me throughout the night... He really is in this for your pets....not the money.. :-)

I have been coming here for almost 5 years now and have been completely satisfied! I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, so it's important to me to feel comfortable when getting service for them. I have referred many friends to this place because the staff cares so much about my animals, as well as me! The girls here are super friendly and Dr. Anderson and Dr. Shedan are great guys! Dr. Anderson has even given me his personal cell phone number so I can update him on my dog's progress and ask questions, no matter what time of day. Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital exceeds my expectations!

Today I brought our cat in knowing that something sigificant was wrong. We were seen by Dr. Shedan and a very kind nurse/technician (I can't remember her name, so sorry!). They were so amazing and comforting through the whole ordeal. With a cancer diagnosis for our Rocky, Dr. Shedan walked me through all my options and made sure I was okay with every step. The staff even gave me hugs at the end and assured me I was doing the right thing. Thanks so much.

I'd never had to put a dog down before but I knew we were getting close. I asked Dr. Shedan, "When is the right time?" His simple and concise answer was, "You'll know." I've never received better advice. When the time came Dr Shedan was compassionate and flexible as to the how and when. Sure, you might not like your bill, but for a business to work it needs to make money. I get what I pay for every time I go to Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital.

What did I like about this vet? Only the fact it was close to are home. In the less then two years going there (about 4 visits) my dog needed x-rays everytime. The bed side manor is tolerable not great or bad but nothing is explained very well.
Last time there are dog had crystals. We where told to collect a urine sample. We did and dropped it off. We never knew what the prognosis was until we followed up asking what next and will she be ok!
It also seams from other reviews people realize they need a small loan to take there pet here. Are average bill is 400 dollars. Must be for all those must needed x-rays. Also I thought I was at a car dealer they tried to up sell us on more unnecessary shots.
This dog was my wifes prior to us getting married. She lived in Northern Virginia and took her dog to a doc in Burke Virginia. After not being pleased with any of there professionalism or cost we drove to Virginia to get answers.
It was amazing this vet told us what was going on (her records where transfered back). There where things we where not aware of. While we went elsewhere we also had a rabies boster shoot. Oh the check up and shot was only about 120 oh and no x-rays.
There are better vets then this place hands down. I don't recommend this place to anyone.
Oh I almost forgot to mention the lack luster unprofessional front office staff. If waiting a minimum of half an hour isn't enough you are more then likely to find a receptionist on the phone with there personal issues. Don't worry the vets walk out and say nothing so you can look forward to this happening.

My maltese had 5 puppies yesterday morning and three of the five were very tiny. I spent the past 24 hours at momma's side, comforting, trying to get the little ones to eat. My dogs are like my children and love them just as much. I have taken them the Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital and feel very comfortable. They were very diligent in getting them looked at, and immediately went into action to give the 3 the best fighting chance. Right now mom and her babies are in their care for monitoring. Mom was very comfortable as the staff was very compassionate and gentle. I am so thankful from the bottom of my heart to have a staff care for my babies as I would. I would highly recommend this office and they will my vet of choice this day forward. After being by her side for over 24 hours I am relieved to have some help and can now rest for a short period of time knowing she and the babies are in good care. Peace of mind is priceless and that is what this office has given me. Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital, I can never thank you enough!

I moved to the area a few years ago and looked for a highly rated vet for my dog. Unfortunately I landed upon Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital. Every time I came in, regardless of routine exam/vaccinations or a medical issue, I waited out in the lot for 2 hours or more (yes I had an appointment time) with my dog. I know COVID threw a wrench in things, but this happened even before that and after they claimed to have it figured out. I work, so it’s absolutely ridiculous for a vet office to expect someone to take off an entire half day or day to just get in for an exam.
I saw Dr Anderson every time. He’s fine for routine exams and shots, but my dog had scabs that would appear on her ears and was a serious issue if they started bleeding. I came to them as a new patient and she was on a medication for this issue. The last vet didn’t know exactly what was going on but made their best guess that she needed this medication. I took her to Waugh Chapel and the first thing Dr. A said to do was get her off that medication. Not knowing anything about it, I followed instructions. He encouraged running a lot of ridiculously expensive tests and required me to come back for visits every few weeks. Needless to say that all added up. We ended up moving 2 hours away and I had to find another vet. That new vet diagnosed my dog within minutes of the condition she has (Pinna Vasculitis) and put her back on the medication that my dog was on previously that Dr. Anderson said she needed to get off right away. As soon as Dr. A told us to get off that medication her scabs kept reappearing. So we had to come back so many times just for him to rush in and out and say we need to run more tests. My dog has been back on this medication for some time now and we have not had an issue. I’m not exactly sure the doctors here know how to diagnose a medical issue or they are just trying everything to rake in the money.
I WOULD NOT go here if you value your time or money. Definitely a business doing what it does best…taking you and your pet for all you’re worth.

We have been taking our dogs to WCAH since they opened!We took our first two dogs there and ultimately, when they got old and had medical issues, they helped us make the decision to put them down and handled it with grace and professionalism. Now we have three different dogs, all of whom we take here for regular visits as well as to get their nails trimmed. Despite all of our dogs having very different personalities and sometimes being difficult, the entire staff works well with them.Dr. Anderson and Dr. Shaban are both amazing. We have seen a few other of their vets and they seem nice, but Dr. Anderson and Dr. Shaban have both really made an impression on us with how they relate to and care for the animals they treat.Despite having moved out of the area several years ago, we still take our dogs here because we love them so much.

I had to rush my dog, Xena, to WCAH for an emergency, I had an appt set for later that day, but they took Xena right away, just as they were opening. Xena was given a great deal of attention and care while waiting for Dr. Anderson to arrive. Unfortunately, Xena was not able to make it through, so I walked back to be with her and she was surrounded by everyone offering her care and comfort. She wiggled her little tail for me. I'm confident they did everything they could. After I had to let Xena go, the whole staff remained very kind and sympathetic. Dr. Anderson was very helpful and understanding and even answered all my questions when I returned today, nearly a week later, to hash out what had happened. I am sad about the outcome, but happy about how everyone at WCAH handled the emergency. Xena was an adventurer by day and a snuggler at night, so no matter what kind of dog, I would recommend WCAH to anyone and am glad I started bringing Xena to WCAH.

Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital is the best. They're amazing people who truly care about your animals. From all of the girls at the front desk, to the amazing vet techs and other veterinarians, and especially Dr. Anderson himself - they're all wonderful!! I had to leave my job and take my kid out of the school earlier so I can make it to my appointment at 3pm because that was the only time available they had.
The lady at the front desk was very nice and she asked me to wait for the vet assistant (this took about 10 mins) and then the assistant took us to the little room and told me that someone will take care of us shortly but after 25 mins I got out of the room and went to the front desk and they told me basically the same thing “the vet will take care of you shortly”. After 35mins of waiting for the Vet in the room, I decided to leave.
I find this VERY DISRESPECTFUL since I lost 1/2 day of work and I had to take my kid out of the school earlier.
Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital, YOU HAVE TO FIX THIS immediately, you can’t treat your clients like this…this is unacceptable!

My wife and I recently added a teacup chihuahua to our family! We found Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital via Yelp because of their amazing reviews! We took our 8 week old puppy last night for his first series of shots etc. The entire staff are all incredibly friendly, and very helpful! Heather and Dr. Andersen were the absolute best! They were very patient and understanding, and answered all of our questions and concerns! The level of customer service and care for both the pets and their owners is exceptional!! I have a 5 month old golden retriever so I am fairly new to Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital. My experience so far has been pretty awesome. Dr. Anderson is the best vet I could ask for and all the techs have been amazing. Sometimes I have had to wait up to an hour past my appointment time but once I am seen it is completely worth it. The doctors and techs take their time with us, my appointments never feel rushed, and as a first time pet owner this is very important because I had a ton of questions during my first few visits. Dr. Anderson even gave me his cell number and told me to text him should I have any questions about my puppy. It doesn't get better than that. I very highly recommend WCAH.

Thanks to a referral from my friend, Leslie Pickett, my senior poodle has been going to Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital only since December 2015. From the time I walk into the door until it is time to check out, we are treated as if we are the only ones in their care. The kindness and understanding that they have shown me has blown me away. I can't say enough about the staff at Waugh Chapel they were very nice and very friendly and it seemed they were actually there for the care of my dog and not my money I have been having problems with another vet for the past year on finding out what's wrong with my dog and then they use scare tactics such as the word cancer and after Altra sound I was assured by Waugh Chapel that it was not cancer and will work with me on any treatment that she needs and even told me about some over-the-counter medication I can get for her I was very impressed Thank you Lisa Bland for referring me to them

I have referred many friends to this place because the staff cares so much about my animals, as well as me! The girls here are super friendly and Dr. Anderson and Dr. Shedan are great guys! Today I brought our cat in knowing that something sigificant was wrong. We were seen by Dr. Shedan and a very kind nurse/technician (I can't remember her name, so sorry!). They were so amazing and comforting through the whole ordeal. With a cancer diagnosis for our Rocky, Dr. Shedan walked me through all my options and made sure I was okay with every step. The staff even gave me hugs at the end and assured me I was doing the right thing. Thanks so much.

I've never received better advice. When the time came Dr Shedan was compassionate and flexible as to the how and when. Sure, you might not like your bill, but for a business to work it needs to make money. I get what I pay for every time I go to Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital.

What did I like about this vet? Only the fact it was close to are home. In the less then two years going there (about 4 visits) my dog needed x-rays everytime. The bed side manor is tolerable not great or bad but nothing is explained very well.
Last time there are dog had crystals. We where told to collect a urine sample. We did and dropped it off. We never knew what the prognosis was until we followed up asking what next and will she be ok!
It also seams from other reviews people realize they need a small loan to take there pet here. Are average bill is 400 dollars. Must be for all those must needed x-rays. Also I thought I was at a car dealer they tried to up sell us on more unnecessary shots.
This dog was my wifes prior to us getting married. She lived in Northern Virginia and took her dog to a doc in Burke Virginia. After not being pleased with any of there professionalism or cost we drove to Virginia to get answers.
It was amazing this vet told us what was going on (her records where transfered back). There where things we where not aware of. While we went elsewhere we also had a rabies boster shoot. Oh the check up and shot was only about 120 oh and no x-rays.
There are better vets then this place hands down. I don't recommend this place to anyone.
Oh I almost forgot to mention the lack luster unprofessional front office staff. If waiting a minimum of half an hour isn't enough you are more then likely to find a receptionist on the phone with there personal issues. Don't worry the vets walk out and say nothing so you can look forward to this happening.

My maltese had 5 puppies yesterday morning and three of the five were very tiny. I spent the past 24 hours at momma's side, comforting, trying to get the little ones to eat. My dogs are like my children and love them just as much. I have taken them the Waugh Chapel Animal Hospital and feel very comfortable. They were very diligent in getting them looked at, and immediately went into action to give the 3 the best fighting chance. Right now mom and her babies are in their care for monitoring. Mom was very comfortable as the staff was very compassionate and gentle. I am so thankful from the bottom of my heart to have a staff care for my babies as I would. I would highly recommend this office and they will my vet of choice this day forward. After being by her side for over 24 hours I am relieved to have some help and can now rest for a short period of time knowing she and the babies are in good care.
