I've been bringing my dogs here for about three years, and I have been very pleased with everything. The staff is consistently nice and professional, it's always been easy to make an appointment when something unexpected happens, and their prices are very reasonable. One of the things that I like the most is that the veterinarians take the time to explain things like test results, so that the average person can understand them and they aren't just a bunch of numbers and acronyms thrown around without any context. They also offer boarding services, which has been a huge help for me because there aren't many decent options in this area. On a personal note, we had to euthanize one of our dogs about two years ago, and the staff could not have been more kind and considerate during that process. They went to great lengths to ensure that everything went smoothly, and they never rushed us or tried to hurry the process along. They let us have all the time that we needed to say goodbye, and it really helped. I do not think that I could recommend them highly enough. Read Less

I'm eternally grateful for the care they've provided over the years. They do a lot of lab tests in house so you get results quickly; vets often call personally to follow up on test results, and techs call to check on your beloved pet after treatment. I've been taking my dogs to GVC, on and off now for over ten yrs, and made the decision to see only them, around 5 yrs ago. I've always had a lot of dogs, so things can get pricey. So for small stuff, like vaccines or checkups, they would go elsewhere.....cause GVC IS a tad pricey. For anything non-routine though, no question, they would always go to GVC. All the vets there are absolutely lovely people. They are compassionate and knowledgeable. They listen, take their time to explain things and to answer any questions you may have. Putting one of your babies down, is always an agonizing process, but they go out of their way, to make it as painless as it could possibly be. GVC has done it for me twice. A week ago, Dr Croen helped me to say goodbye to my 15 year old. Over the period of the last several months, I was agonizing over the decision. Not only was she there to treat Trixie, but more importantly, on several different occassions, to listen, discuss and help me make that agonizing decision.... whether or not it was time to put Trixie down. The vets are great. They are excellent at problem solving with the symptoms of your dog or cat, including behavior problems. Their facilities and medical equipment are the best, including the boarding for cats and dogs. The entire staff knows our pet's names and how to handle them if they anxious. I can't put into words how great this clinic is! Our sweet baby Benelli only visited this clinic twice and one visit was goodbye, but the staff was so incredibly understanding and caring. They knew how hard this was for us and made it easier by showing compassion. They truly care for their patients. The card with the paw prints meant so much and was so unexpected. Just wanted to give you guys an update on the 13 year old pup named Honey you guys helped give a second chance. From the second you guys answered the phone I could tell this was a place I wanted to and COULD trust. I moved about 3 years ago to Dallas and had to leave my jack russlle pug with my beloved grandma. She tried her best to give Honey a loving home but being older that was limited. Due to that my dog Honey's health had declined and I was unaware of it. I had a bad experience at a previous vet office where I was judge immediately because my dog had stones in her bladder and was being labeled as a bad pet owner. ( I was a minor at the time) I dreaded calling vets around the area to see who could take in my 13 yr old pup quickly so I could fly her back to Texas the following week. The moment your receptionist answered the phone, I believe her name was kinder, I think. She was so sweet. My grandmother had just passed away and and with an unexpected trip home, I was taking my pup that I've had since she was 9 wks old home to Dallas with me. But first I wanted to make sure she was healthy enough to travel and a check up was due for sure. She had a bad case of fleas and an ear infection and she has loss some teeth. I expected the worse with everything going on plus her age. I didn't wanna make that call that Honey would have to be put down. Fortunately that wasn't the case. You guys were able to give her a pill that killed the fleas immediately and treated her like she was your own pet. I was able to bored her with you guys too. I had just met you guys, but I felt really comfortable leaving my dog with you guys for a few days before I would head out to Dallas. When I went to pick Honey up, she was leading the tech out to the lobby. She had her spunk back, like she was a puppy again!!! I couldn't of been happier. We have been back in Dallas for about a week now. Honey is a happy 13 year old dog who reminds me of the 9 week old puppy that I had. She has more energy than I can remember. Her skin infection has completely healed up and her ears are doing good too. I cannot thank you enough for giving me my puppy back!!!! Thank you for your kindness and understanding given the circumstances. Its probably the best vet experience I had. Honey is enjoying the life of a senior dog with her not so little, little brother Spike. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! I wish there were more stars available to give this place. I cannot even begin to explain how incredible every member of their staff has been. We were evacuated from our home due to a hurricane in SC. Being from MD we decided to come home to avoid the storm. My best friend recommended them. Best choice ever. I can tell how much they love pets and everyone's compassion and empathy is so touching. Erica spent 2 days on the phone with me preparing for their arrival. 4 cats and one dog. They stayed open an hour late because we got stuck in traffic and our zone evacuation was postponed. Then still stayed another hour to make sure the animals were clean (Snuggs got sick in the car) and comfortable. They let me visit my babies today and their facility is so clean and beautiful. My fur babies are being taken care of so well. I'm grateful to the vet for fitting them in for exams today and making sure they weren't too stressed or scared. I would recommend them to anyone. This place is incredible! Courtney the vet tech is AMAZING! My boyfriend and I had to put our loving Great Dane down after 4 days from getting her from a shelter back home in PA. I will forever take my animals here. Today my mom called me letting me know that the clinic had sent me a card... I told her to open it... Inside was such a cute card and on top of that her paw prints were placed inside!!! Whoever did that... That means a lot to Derek and I. Our baby's name was Elsa... She was deeply loved for the 4 days that we had her for. Not only did everyone there make us comfortable for the terrible day we had to face but, Dr. Tid and Courtney were so very sad for Derek and I. I came to this vet recently after going to another one in the Montgomery area , I am originally from PA and only moved to Germantown 6 months ago. I had a WONDERFUL vet in PA and was having trouble finding another here in MD that I really liked and felt comfortable with. I was disappointed in my first choice after moving here and decided to try Germantown Vet Clinic due to their positive ratings on Google... I am not at all disappointed and so very glad I switched to this vet!!! The office is well kept and the staff is delightful! I also LOVED Dr. Ted and finally feel like my dog (who has diabetes) is well taken care of ! Even my dog is more comfortable at this vet! I receive follow up calls and the staff and veterinarians seem to not just be extremely knowledgeable but also actually care ! Those qualities are a must for me and my special needs dog! We have four dogs and recently decided to find a new more reasonably priced vet. Based on reviews we decided to try Germantown vet. They provided the two dogs needing their teeth cleaned a complimentary evaluation and quote. We were impressed with the tech. and the doc. we decided to use them. They took such good care of our babies. The tech. and vet both took time to review what was done and what we needed to do during the recovery period. Price was good, procedures went well and everyone was very pleasant. I will add during our checkout, we overheard a staffer on the phone with a client who apparently has an ailing pet, she was so very compassionate with the caller it brought tears to my eyes.
