This is the best vet that I’ve ever used in my 20+ years of pet ownership, in many states. There are some really bad vets out there, in this area, so do your research. We’ve had great times there and because of this place. Our lab came from the same farmer/part-time breeder that Dr. Beavers got her dog from. We talked to them specifically for recommendations when we were buying our toddler a dog. Bingo (lab) loves the place and everyone there and they all seem to really like him, even though he’s a 2 year old, 88lb bundle of energy that like to try to jump up and lick faces. Dr. Anderson and Dr. Beavers were both there for us when our Pug developed a brain tumor suddenly late in life. They laid out the options and gave all of the facts without pushing for one decision or another. Due to his extreme age, other health issues, and the extremely high costs of dog brain surgery that he might not have even lived through, they were there when we made the very hard decision and they helped a lot in the end to ease that pain. All of our cats and dogs have gone there for the last 5+ years and as long as I’m within driving distance we’ll keep going back. I can’t recommend this place enough. Read Less

This pet boarding and medical facility is the best! I am a veteran dachshund owner, having owned five over the years. Dr Beavers and Dr Anderson are great diagnosticians and extremely kind human beings. Currently I board my dachshund and beagle whenever we go out of town. The dogs are excited to come and always happy when we pick them up. Everyone including the docs, greets them with warmth. Lately my dachshund has had a life- threatening illness. The care and concern demonstrated by the docs and staff has been great. Plus they do not charge huge fees, but merely what is necessary. Dr Tiekart, a veteran orthopedic surgeon and holistic practitioner, is a wizard with his acupuncture and chiropractic treatments. Do not take your pets here unless you want to waste your money on unnecessary shots. They are misleading with what information they give to you, admit they are wrong, and do nothing about it. Unless you know exactly what is necessary and required by law, or required specifically by your pet's condition, they will take advantage of you. This facility simply wants to make the most money possible. They were very dishonest even when we were clear about what we wanted done. There are plenty of other places around to take your pets! Lost my business in 30 seconds. Required me to my dog an influenza vaccine before seeing her to be boarded. Then she was brought in for a temperament test and was rejected in 30 seconds because she was excited and did not go directly in a kennel. They did not give her an opportunity to get acclimated to her environment, simply shrugged her off. The staff acted as though I wasted their time and gave zero f$!#s. Ill take my thousands of dollars per year elsewhere. Thanks for wasting me. Read Less

I would recommend this Animal Care Center to anyone I know. We have been going to this clinic for our dogs and even when we had our card before they passed and this is when the place was out in Abingdon off of Route 924. So, it's been 13 years or more. They have 2 wonderful and caring Doctors here. Their names are: Dr. Beavers and Dr. Anderson. We have pad to put down 2 pets and they made the process so easy and they are such caring group of people all the way down to their staff. Thank you Dr. Beavers and Dr. Anderson for everyrhing. We have been taking our pets Belle and Pickles here for years and they are Awesome in every aspect of Care, Bathing as well as Customer Service. They are always Friendly and Caring. They are my Pets home away from home. They treat us and our pets like we are family! All of the Staff take Great Care Of Our Family! Our Beagle just had a Bladder Stone Removal Operation and she is doing Great, Doctor Beavers did an Awesome job! The Bathing and Care People are hands down the Best Ever! We have an older hound mixed named Pickles and they have helped so much in making her feel better and more comfortable during her senior years. We tried this place because it is close to home, but we stay because it is awesome.  When you walk in, you notice immediately that it not only looks but also smells immaculate.  Our cats have seen both docs and they have been wonderful (as have the techs).  We never feel rushed through, and even if I bring one cat, I can still ask questions about the other without having to make a separate appointment to bring the other cat in.  I also don't feel like they are trying to constantly sell me various random pet products as I have experienced at other vets in the past.  We have not used their boarding service, but the kitties in their condos are visible from the reception area, and they seem pretty spacious and clean.  I can't say that my cat likes it as much as I do because it seems like when ever I bring him here he either gets a shot in the butt or something chopped off (poor lil' guy), but from my perspective they are pretty great.
