We have been coming here for years, except when we were far out of the area (overseas). My dog has been cared for exceptionally well. He wouldn't be well into his mid-teens if not! We adopted a little cat, and he gets the best care possible too. I trust this place 1000%! Caring and communicative. They are also very helpful with insurance matters. We brought our cat tiger in with an abscess on the side of his face the size of a golf ball dr. Bob took care of him and let us know what we had to do he was very professional but at the same time very friendly and down-to-earth and made us very comfortable. I believe this place is overpriced and they try to charge you for a bordella shot, every 3 months, but a dog only needs one every 6 to 12 months. They also charge you for a fecal every 6 months when on average its every year. My dog isn't around dogs enough for a fecal every 6 months and my other vet does bordella shot every 6 months. I'm seriously considering finding another place to board my dog. NLAH prices for boarding are the best, however, if I'm planning to pay $75 for boarding then when I arrive you tell me she needs a fecal that's $60, its an unexpected expense and I should have been told prior to getting there. I stopped using this place for grooming and vet care, but I might have to change them for boarding too. Read Less

I am so pleased with Dr. Bob Cohn and his staff. Everyone is kind and courteous and no question about my 2 cats' health is unimportant. For scheduled appointments, we wait only a short time before being shown to an examination room. The cats are with loving care. Dr. Bob is the cat whisperer. My late cat, Izzy, was an absolute terror at every vet I ever took her to until I found NLAH. All my animals have always gone to Dr. Bob, even when I moved to Baltimore City. When Dr. Bob has looked at your animal, you know they have been throughly examined and cared for. When you lose a pet, Dr. Bob is almost more upset than you. Last weekend, I lost my 2 year old kitten to a freak seizure. I wasn't able to take her to see him but he was so concerned when I called. I absolutelty love this place and would never dream of going elsewhere! After 13 healthy and energetic years, my old buddy developed a gold-ball sized tumor overnight. It was diagnosed as a fast spreading cancer. Dr. Bob and staff were sympathetic and kind- everything you could ask for. We were able to remove the tumor once to buy us a little more time- but only with the help of Dr Bob. Because he was willing to work with us on the bill payments, we were able to spend one more month with Monty before he was laid to rest. It made all of the difference. They are absolutely amazing. My Aunt recommended them to me she has been going for years for both her dogs and cats. I moved to laurel and adopted a kitten. I took him there and I was in love the second I walked in. They have a cat side and a dog side which is nice especially if your cat is afraid of dogs. The staff there are so kind you are immediately greeted with a smile. You can tell everyone there loves animals the environment there is so pleasant. My kitten ended up getting fleas and I freaked out in panic I called them early on a Saturday and they told me to come in and they gave me a couple pills- one to kill the fleas and one to protect him. Best part they did not charge me. I was shocked and so greatful to them. I ended up buying vectra to protect me kitten. But this place is amazing and they truly care about your animal. Read Less

She will spend as much time as needed to explain any procedures or recommended care for your pet. In December 2013 I lost my sweet Comet, a wonderful, large yellow lab. He was the the most gentle, loving dog I have ever had. The personal attention and loving care that Comet was given by the staff at North Laurel was above and beyond. North Laurel Animal Hospital is amazing! We found them through the love Dr Bob has for all animals as we needed help with a poor wild turtle. As loyal and devoted clients we were driving over an hour to our family vet. After Dr Bob so kindly and lovingly helped the poor turtle, we changed our two cats to be clients to North Laurel Animal Hospital but kept our dog we the other hospital. We since learned Dr Bob has an amazing team! So we have changed our dog and started two new puppies with them. I can not express how impressed both myself and my husband were by the service provided by NLAH in regards to my sick dog. We were new to the area and had read reviews online praising the both professionalism and compassion of the vets and front staff - which were so well deserved. From the first moment I made the phone call to schedule an appointment to the final moments of our pet's life before she was put to sleep, I was in awe at how amazing all the staff were over the 5 days our dog stayed there. They were sensitive to the difficult time I was experiencing, they treated my dog with not only respect but genuine love and affection, they listened to my concerns, provided options and advice whenever I had any questions (which was frequently). On the practical side they kept me aware of expense and were able to provide an estimate. There were no hidden fees and all tests undertaken were well considered and relevant. I can honestly say that they made an unbearable situation so much more managable - never in my life have I had such overwhelmingly touching service (in anything) and hence I am now writing my first ever review online. If you are debating NLAH you really should give them a call or visit - it is the best thing you could do for your pet and yourself (especially if there are significant health concerns). Read Less

I really love everything about them. The whole staff is friendly andextremely helpful (they know me by name, squeeze me in if I have something I want checked out immediately, know my dogs names, etc). There are two vets there. Both are very nice, but I see Dr. Bob primarily. He's a great guy and very good at what he does. He has done surgeries on both my dogs, and saved one who was on the verge of death.
