We spent $200 to bring our cat in to see Dr. Howard. For that amount of money we got a rushed exam that we felt was not thorough, an incorrect e-mail address - we tried to contact the doctor directly but the e-mail address was the labs address. We never got a response from Dr. Howard we heard from the office manager only. We spent over $130 on lab work which we were contacted via e-mail the results stating our cats blood work was (good) which contradicts the actual printed results. The lab results on some of the labs were - med to high markers and on one result was high. I will never take my cat here again and will not recommend this veterinarian to anyone. The entire staff has always been so caring to ALL of our animals we've brought to them over the years. Yesterday especially was heartfelt for us. My husband and I took our 9yr. old Siberian Husky Mya in for a check-up because she had stopped eating 3 days days ago. Well, after xrays and bloodwork we had to make the most heart wrenching decision ever and decided to end her suffering. She had diabetes, pancreatitis and her kidneys were failing. I have been taking my cats here for over 15 years. The level of care has been consistently excellent no matter who saw them. Always willing to take the extra time to answer all my questions. Where they really excel the most in my experience has been in dealing with animals with terminal conditions (cancer). While surgery and chemo were discussed as options, they were very candid with my about likelihoods or not of success. Dr. Stephens has really phenomenal in coming up with a variety of ways to provide compassionate care to make my pet as comfortable as possible and keep his quality of life high for the final stretch. We saw Dr. Stephens on Saturday at the suggestion of another client. My dog has very bad anxiety, and had previously been seen by a vet clinic. At the clinic's suggestion we moved him to a full service vet. Our visit was a great experience. They gave us a exam room to wait in, which made his visit much easier due to his anxiety with other dogs. Dr. Stephens was extremely knowledgeable on pet behavior treatments and was able to properly advise him on our treatment options, and also made him feel comfortable in the vet office (something uncommon for our dog). Terrible, unethical place and I would never recommend them to anyone!My dog had a liver problem that they assured me could be treated but a needle biopsy necessary to determine the appropriate treatment with medications. I agreed. They never called me and I had to call them after the procedure. I was told to pick her up. When arriving, I saw she had drainage tubes in BOTH lungs. They told me to take her to a 24 hour care facility. They called to make the arrangements, but refused to help financially even though I did not have the money necessary to pay for it. They told me to come up with the money or take her home and watch her die! (no kidding...that's what they told me!) I borrowed money to take my dog to the 24 hour care facility but to no avail. She was weakened beyond belief after this procedure and, after consulting 3 other veteranarian facilities, it was shown this was NOT a normal result of such a procedure. We settled out of court and I was reimbursed my money, but I lost my beloved dog in the process. They still do not admitt fault and they now claim they do not even have any records so I should not post anything against them. (per another web review). They do not even remember what they did! Many of the people that work there have nothing but the best disposition toward each other, the animals they take care of, and the people bringing their animals for care. However, the owner of this practice treats her employees like second class citizens and does not give them the humane treatment they deserve. I hope for the very best for everyone that works there, but please, do not patronize this establishment any longer. The owner does not deserve to be the recepient of all of her employees' hard work. Incredible - Loving -Thank you! I have been going to Timonium Animal Hospital for 6 year. My 11 year old boxer was recently diagnosed with cancer. Dr. Gernhert in a very caring way presented my options to me. We chose to put my boxer down because we did not want her to suffer. The entire vet clinic was very supportive and empathetic during this extremely sad time. They allowed the process to occur on my time. At no time was I rushed in my decision, I actually waited 10 days. Once I did make the decision, I was able to stay with my pup during the process so she was not left alone. After, I was able to stay with my pup for as long as I needed say good-bye. A week later, they even sent a sympathy card to my house with my pups paw print on it. It was the nicest thing they could have done. I could really tell through the actions and words of everyone in the clinic, they understood how I felt and wanted to make this decision as easy as possible for me. I Love Timonium Animal Hospital. I have two chow chows,Bigsley and Roxy who are both rescue dogs and I know for a fact that Dr. Gernhart has saved my Roxy's life at least twice. We took our cat to Timonium animal hospital because she was showing signs of being sick. Timonium Animal Hospital diagnosed our cat with a bladder infection and kidney failure. The prescribed three different medications saying that our cat could be treated very affordably and that treatment could extend her life for years. On our follow-up visit, the vet charged us for many unnecessary procedures ($80 just to take the cat's blood pressure) and gave us a ""shame on you"" attitude when we explained we were not financially able to absorb the costs of treatment. Our bill for a single month was over $1,000. Our cat died the month following despite the treatment and the vet's assurances that we could prolong her life. Read Less

The level of care that I have recieved is far beyond the level of care that I have ever experienced @ any other animal hospital. They really pay attention to the little things. I took my boxer in there 2 weeks ago because he started having seizures. Dr Gernhart and Dr Howard both helped work on his case. They have both called me since my visit to check on him (most Vets do not do that). Also, they are very understanding of any financial concerns that I had. They provided me with detailed estimates and options that fit my financial situation and were in the best interest of my pets.
