I drive almost an hour one way to take my three dogs to Mt. Carmel Animal Hospital. My girls and I love the care and attention they receive there. Be wary of this place. I brought my dog in for a growth on her tail and was told that she absolutely needed the growth to be removed. They scheduled an appointment for surgery before providing an estimate. I had to ask for an estimate, otherwise, they do not provide one of their own volition. Before the surgery, the growth on my dog's tail just disappeared and now she is doing just fine. I called and told the doctor that her growth was gone and she said "I've never heard of that happening before." That was it, no additional follow up nor did she ask me to bring my dog back in to have a look. Read Less

We've been clients for many years and have had wonderful service every year. We have experienced all aspects of care for our pets....annual visits, sick visits, surgery, emergency care, as well as end of life care. They offer weekend and evening hours for appointments. We have been going to Mount Caramel Animal Hospital for years and love Dr. McGee! He has provided excellent care to all of our animals over the years.But today, on a Sunday (we were so relieved they were open on a Sunday), we had a very sick guinea pig that was ready for the rainbow bridge. We called Sunday morning and got an appointment first thing with Dr. Molly Muedeking. We had never seen her before, but knew that if she worked for Mount Carmel Animal Hospital she must be a good vet. After all said and done, Dr. Molly Muedeking was amazing and really made us feel at ease. Mount Carmel hospital is amazing. Last week I took my 9 1/2 year old Saint Bernard there with walking issues. We found out he is diabetic. With zero experience with this, Dr Morsburger is being incredibly patient with me. She has had no problem taking on this crazy mess we are in. She goes way beyond what any other vet has done for us. Always there to help in the bad and good times. The skilled staff was there last year for my 11-year old Jemmie and helped me make the tough decision on whether or not to try to fight through a very painful condition. Again, the skilled staff was there last month for my 6-week old Ginger when she swallowed her bottle nipple, which they successfully removed without surgery. And the good times? 3-month old Ginger returned on Wednesday for her first wellness visit and the start of her shots, and the staff treated her like a princess, which of course she is. State of the art facility and staff. All are very hands on with your pet and the care. I am soooooo Impressed and sorry I didn't make the change when we first moved up here 10 years ago. When you read other reviews that state they are better than human doctor offices, They truly are!!!! I could go on and on why they are just so awesome. And if you think they would be more pricey than other vets like I initially did. They are cheaper or just as comparable to my former vet. If you're looking for a new Vet. It's the little things. The vets get down on the floor with my dogs, give kisses and attention before anything starts. It's all of them too, not just one. One of my dogs is 170lb monster with copious drool but it doesn't bother them in the slightest. I can't say enough about this place. This is the best vet I have ever been to. They are a bit expensive but they have the access to immediate quality medical care. I have seen Dr Fox for 20 years and he has been so amazing and helped me through many medical concerns for current and past animals. He loves his job, and you can tell. I have been a gone to Mt Carmel since they had opening day and I happen to speak to Dr Fox since we had just moved t the North county and I have sighthounds. I asked Dr Fox a million questions and he answered them all and actually found it grea ht I wanted to know if I bring m dogs that they would get the best of care. Since then many years ago I can only praise them as every one of the Veterinary on Staff are absolutely caring knowledgeable commited Vets. I mostly deal with Dr Fox and Dr Steele and just in the last 2 weeks Dr Fox and Steele each did a surgery on one of my dogs. My dogs are my life and as such they get treated like my children and I am with them and my voice is the last thing my dogs here befor getting anesthesia and my voice is the first they hear as they wake up . The staff from the front desk to the Vet Tech in the back they are all very professional and they always go out of their way to make you feel comfortable that your pet is getting the best of care. In my 45 plus years as an occasional Breeder / Owner /Handler / judge of Afghan and Borzoi I had seen many Veterinarian but since that first day opening day of Mt Carmel when I gave Dr Fox a million questions I was very impressed because he was compassionate caring funny and very knowledgeable . I can only highly recommend Mt Carmel Animal Hospital because I know my animals will get the very best of care . Since opening day they have expanded all the services they offer and it is great to know that should one of my fur babies need surgery or just a regular check up that they are getting the best care possible. As a Nurse a Practioner in Critical Care and Emergency medicine I often ask lots questions and sometimes ask Dt Fox if e would consider this treatment I use for people and he is always open to suggestions . I have been going to Mount Carmel Animal Hospital for a number of years and couldn't be happier with the care my cats have been receiving there. The nice thing about it is there are 3-4 vets there I have seen and I have total confidence in them so it doesn't matter which one I make an appointment with. I have had a few pets in recent years who have had serious illnesses and they give me options on treatment to fit my budget and do not try to gauge me financially. They are very upfront and honest and I've also referred other friends there and they are happy with them as well. They are very compassionate during the euthanisa process which has been the most difficult visit of all. Read Less

Dr. Zelepsky is fantastic. Nicest vet I've ever encountered and obviously loves her job.I really just wish they were consistent about scheduling and answering online forms/requests. Several times I've brought my dog in for grooming and it was the wrong day. One time? Could be my fault? Two or three? Uhh obviously not. After 12 years of taking our dog to MCAH...we are done. I've read some of the other negative posts about the constant upselling...etc. and it couldn't be more true. The staff and care have been excellent...so I can see why there are also many positive posts. But their price gouging tactics have finally pushed us over the edge. And I don't mean they are simply too expensive. Their billing is designed to be complex....and change with every question I asked....an no one could ever seem to explain or even justify the costs....not even the Dr. A teeth cleaning and a few extractions went from $200+...to $400+ to finally nearly $650! And don't get me started on the "liver enzyme levels"....which can be helped with $80/mth treatments. I could go on and on with stories....but the bottom line is...this place is worse than a car dealership....be warned! Read Less

We HAD been going to Mt Carmel Animal Hospital for many years, but no more. Good vet care, quality equipment, etc costs...I realize that. But I have watched their rates go through the roof. Numerous times I have caught mistakes on their bills....always in their favor. Their own staff can't even explain their complex invoices. If you are asking for my opinion...find another vet. I do not trust them at all. I have heard that some vet offices now work on a commission system for their staff....perhaps that is the reason for their decline? I just don't know...it's a shame they have become so greedy. Read Less

The best Vets anywhere! We drive from south of Baltimore to bring our pup here and it is well worth it. When Dr. Steele sees my dog, she's always kisses him. They give great caring service and are very nice to work with. I wouldn't bring my dog anywhere else but Mt Carmel. Read Less
