Here at The Country Veterinary Hospital, we strive to provide our clients and patients with the highest quality medical care and service. We are a full-service hospital, offering surgery, dentistry, radiology, ultrasound, laboratory diagnostics and boarding, as well as routine preventative medical services. Annual physical exams, vaccinations, and yearly tests for parasites are important aspects of maintaining your pet's good health. Puppy and basic obedience classes are offered at our hospital under the direction of local trainer Don Offutt to help you get on the right track.
Our doctors offer the latest in medical diagnostics and treatments, while working with you, the client, to determine what is best for you and your pet's situation, Our assistants are skilled and provide the compassion and T.L.C. that your pet deserves. Our front office staff will do their best to handle your phone calls and visits to the hospital in such a way as to make them as pleasant an experience as possible.
We have three full-time and one part-time veterinarians to help you provide optimum care for your pets. Our dedicated support staff consists of an office manager, four part-time receptionists, four full-time and seven part-time veterinary technicians and assistants.
Tours of the hospital can be arranged, and visitation of hospitalized patients is encouraged in many cases.

DONE!!! We just started using them in May, 2021. They seem to want to keep the owners out of the office with covid. Went last time, the receptionist didn't really seem too friendly, came today and I lost it, I just lost it on her. I texted by mistake, completely my fault when I got there. Got confused because other offices have text... So, I Texted again because they don't want you to walk in the building. Then I got a call said I was sitting there the entire time. They saw my car as I was the spot in front of the door. She told me I may have to reschedule my appointment and I was like, well I've been here the whole time... INTERRUPTED "Excuse Ms H.. We do not have time to monitor the parking lot and see what is happening out there, we are toooooooo busy ..." she was going on with her lecture & rude tone so I hung up, stormed inside. YES, I screamed to her how dare you speak to me that way, I'm a customer that brings my pet here & pays good $$ for your service... I dropped some very bad words that I didn't expect to do but was honestly so upset to hear such a tone & lecture toward me from their Receptionist who is supposed to be in Customer Service. She was extremely RUDE!!! She was there the last time I was in too and didn't schedule my puppy for the next visit. I remember because I had questions about my dog getting spayed and asked about discounts (it's been years since I've had a puppy) and she told me they don't accept that and said not in a nice way either but rather judgy way... Anyway, my husband told me when he took our puppy there back in June/July to get the nails clipped, she said NO to that and I thought that was very odd. I am paying them for a service, I expect to be treated with kindness, not get lectured or pushed off when asked for something many vets have done for our dogs in the past. Back to today... Today, there was 1 other car in the parking lot with that person inside the Vet with her dog. I made a mistake, I know I did by texting instead of calling BUT I do not need to be spoken to rudely and lectured by the receptionist. We are busy people too and I've spent well over a thousand for shots & visits in the past 4 months to be spoken to in that way PLUS we can't even go inside with our dog. I have noticed that some people are allowed inside with their pets and others are not, like myself & my husband the last several visits. I find that mind boggling. I watched a person walk in with their dog but we had to sit in the car and wait while our dog was taken inside each time before. We never even got a chance to meet the Doctor to see what kind of bedside manner she/he had. Good Bye Taylorsville Vet. I will go elsewhere where they care about the Owners who fund the bills for their pets too!!

Clean, efficient, and cheerful staff and professionals. Clear communication and text butreminders. My corgi approved. Their large waiting room made it much less awkward for rambunctious pets owners signing in and out, and there was plenty of seating. Visit rooms were spacious enough for dog, two owners, a tech and vet plus extra space. Lots of large breed dog owners seemed to use this place.

This place is awesome. Highly recommend. They have a affordable plan for my pup to make sure she is healthy and get what she needs to stay healthy without leaving me broke. The people here are so kind and friendly and love seeing my dog every visit so far that I have brought her in. They really care about the fur babies brought in. I will continue to use there service and thank them for there care because my dog is super important to me.

This is the only place we will take our pets. The care is personalized and the staff really take the time with you and your pets. We have been taking our pets to Taylorsville for 20 years or so. We have been through routine treatments and more complex issues, new puppies and kittens, and easing old friends to the next life. In all aspects the staff took great care with our pets and made sure we understood everything we had questions about. We were always provided with options and never pressured into something we couldn’t afford or didn’t need. Fantastic place and fantastic staff.

I am so disappointed. I have been going to Taylorsville Vet for over 15 years. My golden is sick, vomiting his food and blood. I call to get him in after work or the next day and I am told they have no appointments, they have one vet and she is leaving at 4:30. They are suppose to be open until 6PM. Their site post this, "Emergency cases will always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable." Our fur babies are like our children, I guess it is time to seek out another vet. So, so sad!!!!!!

They are not the same caring staff that used to be there it's been replaced with the new school entitlement attitude. I've been going to this veterinarian for 17 years in the past few years their attitudes of gone way downhill. But I would say this last year has been the worst. We don't get any postcards reminding us of updated shots anymore which is something I always relied on from them. Don't even try to talk to the new staff because a talk down to you over the phone. The only decent employee they have left there is Lindsay. It be nice to see her go somewhere else so I could follow her to where she goes because she's the only one I trust their. I got a dog rescued, Bella that was having seizures. The kids wanted to put her down because the mother passed away and they didn't want to deal with the seizures in the medicine. When I got Bella I called Taylorsville that and wanted to put her on flea medicine as well and it get a check up. They get a check up and gave her flea medicine the front line which we put on Bella. Two days later she started having grand bal seizures as a result of the flea medicine that clearly states should not be given to dogs with seizure history. I could go on but I won't there are plenty of other veterinarians out there as I'm finding out that are cheaper and more caring with better hours and full-time staff to look after your pet then Taylorsville veterinarian clinic. Go elsewhere do yourself a favor you'll be grateful you did

It was a very difficult decision and everyone there was so supportive and sympathetic. I will definitely continue taking our other kitties there. Staff and all the Vets are wonderful!

While we have been using Taylorsville Vet for years and have always been pretty satisfied with our experience, I have to say our most recent experiences have far exceeded our expectations. Dr. Bray and Dr. Lucas are both very friendly and pleasant to work with, and Dr. Lucas did a wonderful job treating our dog after a recent accident with a utv. In my experience, the receptionists and techs are just as great! They make an effort to know us as more then just patients. AND from my experience, their pricing is best around for the services they offer! Currently, they seem to have a great team that works well together and I hope they will all be caring for our pets for a long time to come (less the tragic accidents, of course :)

Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to Bella about 2 weeks ago and despite how difficult the experience was she was very empathetic and just as sad to say goodbye. Had a cat who was viciously attacked by a fox. We were taken in immediately. Very friendly service and caring team. Our family isn't a member there but it made no difference.
Spooky (the cat) needed surgery and several follow up appointments. The price was surprisingly low considering the amount of love and attention given to her.
All appointments were made at our convenience. Spooky was seen in time every time. We never had to wait. Everyone was so friendly and understanding. We even got calls with updates during her surgery. Even though spooky is just a cat, the clinic treated her just like we do, as a member of our family.
Loved this place. If any of our animals get sick or hurt again we will definitely be returning to this clinic.

We have been using Taylorsville Vet Clinic for over 13 years and they are the best! They took care of our first Golden Retriever for 11 years. They always gave us sound, professional advise and guidance as we maneuvered through, Lymes disease, Hypothyrodism, Arthritis and finally, with great sensitivity, cancer and the final decision to have our girl put to sleep. We now have a new Golden and they have already had to deal with a life-threatening situation with her! Once again, Dr. Sutton has clearly explained our options and helped us make the best decision for our dog. I appreciate that they treat me with respect as a pet owner by giving me all the options available, from conservative to more preemptive/proactive approach- never judging my final decision. As long as I have a pet, I will be taking them to Taylorsville Vet Clinic and I will recommend them to anyone with confidence.

we have patronized this vet since we moved to mount airy in 1998 with excellent service. we never had many problems with our cats, so did not have to go to the vet often. this is the last time we will ever go. my story follows - PLEASE READ--
i found a very young kitten on the blacktop parking lot of Aldi's in westminster on tuesday, around 5:20. i took it back to my shop and called the vet. they said they close at 7 but they would squeeze me it. the kitten was obviously dehydrated and very weak, shaking and scared. i got to the vet before 6:00. the box i put the kitten in was empty. i searched my van in the vet parking lot for almost half an hour. finally i called my husband. while waiting for him, i went inside to let them know i was there but could not find the cat. when my husband arrived with a flashlight, he found the kitten inside the dash under a panel. we rushed it into the vets office at about 7:05. the receptionist went to ask if the kitten could be seen. she came out and told us that the vet agreed to see the kitten but we would now have to pay the emergency fee since they closed at 7:00 (there were people with a dog in the reception area and the doors were still not locked), she said we could also call tomorrow. i was immediately angry -- doesn't a person become a vet because they love animals??? i told the receptionist that the kitten could be dead by morning - just forget it. now i am looking for a new vet that actually cares about animals as much as their business. and the kitten is doing well.

I am paying them for a service, I expect to be treated with kindness, not get lectured or pushed off when asked for something many vets have done for our dogs in the past. Back to today... Today, there was 1 other car in the parking lot with that person inside the Vet with her dog. I made a mistake, I know I did by texting instead of calling BUT I do not need to be spoken to rudely and lectured by the receptionist. We are busy people too and I've spent well over a thousand for shots & visits in the past 4 months to be spoken to in that way PLUS we can't even go inside with our dog. I have noticed that some people are allowed inside with their pets and others are not, like myself & my husband the last several visits. I find that mind boggling. I watched a person walk in with their dog but we had to sit in the car and wait while our dog was taken inside each time before. We never even got a chance to meet the Doctor to see what kind of bedside manner she/he had. Good Bye Taylorsville Vet. I will go elsewhere where they care about the Owners who fund the bills for their pets too!!

Their large waiting room made it much less awkward for rambunctious pets owners signing in and out, and there was plenty of seating. Visit rooms were spacious enough for dog, two owners, a tech and vet plus extra space. Lots of large breed dog owners seemed to use this place.

This is the only place we will take our pets. The care is personalized and the staff really take the time with you and your pets. We have been taking our pets to Taylorsville for 20 years or so. We have been through routine treatments and more complex issues, new puppies and kittens, and easing old friends to the next life. In all aspects the staff took great care with our pets and made sure we understood everything we had questions about. We were always provided with options and never pressured into something we couldn’t afford or didn’t need. Fantastic place and fantastic staff.

I am so disappointed. I have been going to Taylorsville Vet for over 15 years. My golden is sick, vomiting his food and blood. I call to get him in after work or the next day and I am told they have no appointments, they have one vet and she is leaving at 4:30. They are suppose to be open until 6PM. Their site post this, "Emergency cases will always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable." Our fur babies are like our children, I guess it is time to seek out another vet. So, so sad!!!!!!

They are not the same caring staff that used to be there it's been replaced with the new school entitlement attitude. I've been going to this veterinarian for 17 years in the past few years their attitudes of gone way downhill. But I would say this last year has been the worst. We don't get any postcards reminding us of updated shots anymore which is something I always relied on from them. Don't even try to talk to the new staff because a talk down to you over the phone. The only decent employee they have left there is Lindsay. It be nice to see her go somewhere else so I could follow her to where she goes because she's the only one I trust their. I got a dog rescued, Bella that was having seizures. The kids wanted to put her down because the mother passed away and they didn't want to deal with the seizures in the medicine. When I got Bella I called Taylorsville that and wanted to put her on flea medicine as well and it get a check up. They get a check up and gave her flea medicine the front line which we put on Bella. Two days later she started having grand bal seizures as a result of the flea medicine that clearly states should not be given to dogs with seizure history. I could go on but I won't there are plenty of other veterinarians out there as I'm finding out that are cheaper and more caring with better hours and full-time staff to look after your pet then Taylorsville veterinarian clinic. Go elsewhere do yourself a favor you'll be grateful you did

It was a very difficult decision and everyone there was so supportive and sympathetic. I will definitely continue taking our other kitties there. Staff and all the Vets are wonderful!

While we have been using Taylorsville Vet for years and have always been pretty satisfied with our experience, I have to say our most recent experiences have far exceeded our expectations. Dr. Bray and Dr. Lucas are both very friendly and pleasant to work with, and Dr. Lucas did a wonderful job treating our dog after a recent accident with a utv. In my experience, the receptionists and techs are just as great! They make an effort to know us as more then just patients. AND from my experience, their pricing is best around for the services they offer! Currently, they seem to have a great team that works well together and I hope they will all be caring for our pets for a long time to come (less the tragic accidents, of course :)

Had a cat who was viciously attacked by a fox. We were taken in immediately. Very friendly service and caring team. Our family isn't a member there but it made no difference.
Spooky (the cat) needed surgery and several follow up appointments. The price was surprisingly low considering the amount of love and attention given to her.
All appointments were made at our convenience. Spooky was seen in time every time. We never had to wait. Everyone was so friendly and understanding. We even got calls with updates during her surgery. Even though spooky is just a cat, the clinic treated her just like we do, as a member of our family.
Loved this place. If any of our animals get sick or hurt again we will definitely be returning to this clinic.

We have been using Taylorsville Vet Clinic for over 13 years and they are the best! They took care of our first Golden Retriever for 11 years. They always gave us sound, professional advise and guidance as we maneuvered through, Lymes disease, Hypothyrodism, Arthritis and finally, with great sensitivity, cancer and the final decision to have our girl put to sleep. We now have a new Golden and they have already had to deal with a life-threatening situation with her! Once again, Dr. Sutton has clearly explained our options and helped us make the best decision for our dog. I appreciate that they treat me with respect as a pet owner by giving me all the options available, from conservative to more preemptive/proactive approach- never judging my final decision. As long as I have a pet, I will be taking them to Taylorsville Vet Clinic and I will recommend them to anyone with confidence.

i found a very young kitten on the blacktop parking lot of Aldi's in westminster on tuesday, around 5:20. i took it back to my shop and called the vet. they said they close at 7 but they would squeeze me it. the kitten was obviously dehydrated and very weak, shaking and scared. i got to the vet before 6:00. the box i put the kitten in was empty. i searched my van in the vet parking lot for almost half an hour. finally i called my husband. while waiting for him, i went inside to let them know i was there but could not find the cat. when my husband arrived with a flashlight, he found the kitten inside the dash under a panel. we rushed it into the vets office at about 7:05. the receptionist went to ask if the kitten could be seen. she came out and told us that the vet agreed to see the kitten but we would now have to pay the emergency fee since they closed at 7:00 (there were people with a dog in the reception area and the doors were still not locked), she said we could also call tomorrow. i was immediately angry -- doesn't a person become a vet because they love animals??? i told the receptionist that the kitten could be dead by morning - just forget it. now i am looking for a new vet that actually cares about animals as much as their business. and the kitten is doing well.
