They was so gentle and caring the surgery was excellent they had to cut her tooth out then put stitches in her mouth an stitch the soar up up her face. The receptionist and doctor was so amazing. They even called me to check up on her. I have had the most caring and gentle it's very obvious that they have the love for your dog an other pets. I would recommend them to any one. I have always had a good experience with the staff at this hospital. The receptionists and technicians show genuine interest in my pets and know me when I come in, and all of the doctors I've had here (I've seen 4 different ones) treat my dog and cats with kindness and gentleness. One time I called when my cat had suddenly become very sick, and even though they were completely booked up, they offered to see him anyway because it was an emergency. Then, a couple days later, the vet called me to make sure he was doing okay. She didn't have to do that, but she did because she cared. I also like them because they have flexible hours and are open on Saturdays. I really like this vet clinic. Read Less

A friend of mine brought in a cat that she had rescued from another couple for bloodwork and grooming. They took the cat in the back room and then claimed the cat bit someone and would need to be euthanized. They refused to let her do an animal quarantine, and when she wanted to call animal control, the vet claimed they had already called and that animal control said to put him down. She didn't sign a release but they euthanized him anyway. She has since talked to animal control and the vet apparently had told them it was a feral cat. Why would you be a Vet when you so obviously don't care about animals. And shame on the other people who were working and just turned a blind eye. This place should be shut down. Read Less

Our dog had a loose baby tooth that wasn't pushed out by the adult tooth, so we decided we would take her to a vet to pull the tooth, versus doing it ourselves. We called the vet office and they said that we would have to take the dog in for a wellness exam before he would decide whether or not to pull the tooth. We told them that we go to Ft. Meade's vet and she has recently had a wellness exam, but they do not do dental work. They wouldn't accept it. We paid $120 dollars for them to look at our dog and tell us that they would need to take blood labs, then put her under to pull the tooth. She said she would put her under, even though she is an Italian Greyhound and they can easily die when they receive anesthesia. Even when she was spayed, our other vet did not put her under anesthesia, they just gave her pain meds and she didn't feel any pain. This operation would probably cost us between $300-$700. So, we just went home and wrapped the tooth with floss and pulled it out. The tooth was very loose, she could of just pulled it out when we took the dog to the vet. Be weary of this vet, I think they may care more about milking money out of your dog than caring for your dog. You don't have to put dogs under anesthesia and do wellness exams to simply pull a loose dog tooth. Read Less

By 6:15 we were waiting for her prescriptions to be filled, which took another 30 minutes mind you there were 5 employees working and we were the only people left to be helped. Next thing the Vet approached me and told NOT to come back to his facility with my dog because it LOOKED, LOOKED aggressive. Why then did you take my money in the first place and what Vet discriminates in this manner. The vet was an awful human-being. Then as I am leaving the receptionist offers growing or something. This is the best vet that I have ever worked with. No exaggerations- I have two special needs rescue Samoyeds who need frequent check-ins for various ailments or medication, and I have never met a more friendly and compassionate staff ever. But let's get more specific. I go to Odenton Vet Hospital because ten years ago one of my dogs was in a freak accident at about 7:30 at night. My dog Carter was in pain and I was in panic mode. I drove down to this hospital, a vet I had never brought her to, and they took me right in. Oh...did I tell you that the Odenton vet actually closes at 6:30 PM usually...which means that, despite being closed for over an hour, Dr. Steve saw us outside the door and brought us right in. He saved my dog. And I can't count how many times Dr. Slade was there to usher us through significant ailments and injuries because Carter is an adventurer and scrapper. But that's not the end of my recommendation. Last year I adopted another Rescue Samoyed in January who was coughing frequently. I thought it was kennel cough, but brought him just to make sure, and upon examination, Dr. Pepin-Slade saw the need for x-rays, only to discover that my dog Chase had an enlarged chamber of his heart that was pushing against his trachea. She immediately sent us down to the cardiologist and they gave him three months to live. It is the staff of Odenton Veterinary Hospital that I can clearly say have helped me keep him steady for a year, which really is a medical miracle. And the staff has been just wonderful. I will call right before they are closing and ask for a heart medication refill for my dog Chase and they will ensure he has it and stay open a few minutes if I am running late. The staff, and I am going to miss some folks so I will edit later is fantastic: Veronica, Kammie, Matt, Anna, Daniella, and Chris (and if I missed someone I will make sure to go back). So let's be clear- if you need a vet who will care for your animal companion like it was their own, there is no place else to go. Read Less

Um. In response to Joeser29 guy. I have been taking my animals to this vet for many years and they have taken the very best care of my pets and have cared for their wellbeing for their entire lives. I do not appreciate you putting this vet hospital down because of your lack of responsibility in pet ownership. When you take on having a pet, it is YOUR responsibility to have the means to take care of this pet. This situation is simple. You wouldn't go to a grocery store and demand free food because you have no money to pay, you wouldn't go to a bar and demand free booze because you don't have money to pay. The fact that this vet cannot see your dog does not mean they do not care about animals because they do. They simply are following basic business rules. You can't pay for a service? Their hands are tied. It is not their fault that YOU are not able to provide proper care for your pet! I do feel sorry for your pet sir, but if you are upset that your children have to watch your dog not receive proper care, it is noone's fault but YOURS. Be an adult and stop slandering this wonderful establishment for your own inability to care for your pet. Read Less

I've been going to this vet for years and they are, by far, the best around. They are kind, caring and compassionate people. I'm sorry the person below me doesn't feel the same way. I'm sure they would've helped you if they could, but we don't know their side of the story. Perhaps they've heard the story several times before and have been stiffed in the past. Why didn't you go to a vet that was open late after you received your check? Don't bad mouth these poor people for not being able to give you free services. A hospital charges its patients, why would a vet be any different? I will continue to take my pet there and recommend them to anyone.

Read Less

We had an appointment for 5:30pm, we didn't see the vet until 6pm. Once we actually saw the vet she prescribed our bully with 3 different medications and a topical (allergies). By 6:15 we were waiting for her prescriptions to be filled, which took another 30 minutes mind you there were 5 employees working and we were the only people left to be helped. Although they were nice I found this to be the worst vet experience that we have had. I will not go back.Read Less

Awful place. I walked in with my very large Presa Canario dog and they took care of me and charged me. I was confused. Anyway, there is one everywhere you go.Read Less

This year we lost our beloved Lhasa Apso. He was 14 & we used Odenton Vet for everything.... Up to his last breath. The entire staff could not have been more professional, thorough or kind. And the sympathy card we received with hand written messages from everyone after putting Rudy down brought tears to my eyes & warmth of my heart. I'd HIGHLY recommend using this office & am disappointed by the reviews I see. Read Less

Read Less

If you want "cheaper" service then you get what you pay for.I have NEVER had an issue with ANY of the vets at this hospital. They have ALL taken EXCELLENT care of my pets. I have referred many friends to this vet and they have said NOTHING bad about it. If anyone has anything negative to say about this hospital, they obviously have no clue what they're talking about. And the place is ALWAYS clean when I go in. The ladies at the front desk are very organised and very helpful if I have a question.I HIGHLY recommend this vet to anyone looking for a fantastic place to take their animals for any kind of medical care.
