Parkville Animal Hospital saved the day on two separate occasions. The first time was when I picked up my dog from boarding ...and he came home with a very severe ear infection. I called Parkville and was able to be scheduled for a same day appointment. Super convenient and friendly. My dog is very vocal about not liking the vet, but Dr. Jess was able to do an exam and treat his ears without holding him down or using a muzzle. The same dog required surgery for an infected cyst. My regular vet knew about the infection but said I had to wait three days for the surgical vet. I called Parkville and once again they were able to see my dog the same day. Dr. Jess looked at the infected cyst and said "Yup, that needs to come off. He'll be fine come back in an hour." When I came back he was all done and patched up. They called me twice to check on him and removed his staples, free of charge. Seriously mind blown by how awesome they are. Read Less

Parkville Animal Hospital has been a savior on two back to back occasions. The first being I picked up my dog from boarding (I was on vacation for two weeks) only to discover that he had a horrid ear infection. His ear was inflamed, red, bleeding, and obviously painful. I called the vet hospital that I normally go to and they wouldn't even try to see me that day...they said I could come three days later. I knew he couldn't wait. I called Parkville Animal Hospital and even tho...ugh I was not a client (at the time) they squeezed me in, on the same day! My dog's ear was treated (by Dr. Jess, who was super quick but thorough and patient with my not so nice to vets dog) and he didn't have to wait three more days to start getting relief. Fast forward about a month and the same dog has an infected cyst on his leg. I called my normal vet and attempted to make an appointment but was told I would have to come in twice: once to have the cyst examined and then come back when the surgical vet was there. Again, I didn't want to wait a week for treatment. I was debating on taking him to the Pet ER but then I called Parkville. In my head I was thinking "there is no way they are going to do surgery today...". Sure enough: Parkville gave me a same day appointment. Dr. Jess examined my dog's leg, determined he required surgery, and told me to come back in an hour. Came back to a very groggy, but all patched up, dog. Everyone here is super friendly, knowledgeable and really make my two babies feel right at home! Jen is awesome and my two Shiba's are always super happy to see her (especially Rukia). It's really hard to find not only a vet hospital who cares about your babies but a place that your babies will love to! I was so worried about my one Shiba, Kenzo, as it takes him so long to get use to a place and in some cases he never does. However, here he let's them pick him up, give him shots and even touch his feet! At my last vet they had to sedate him because he would growl when they touched his feet. So my little ones can really sense that all of the staff at Parkville Animal Hospital are GENUINELY good people and after being with them for close to a year I really love the staff and the overall atmosphere I see here! I never see or hear an unhappy customer (humans and pets) and that let's me know that they care about everyone! The prices are great (I'm comparing to both a high priced vet I use to go to and the Baltimore Humane Society that I use to go to) and I really enjoy how to set an appointment! I am on the go and always at work so it is very easy and convenient for me to be able to go online and select a date and time that (they allow you 1st and 2nd preference choices). Then within less than 10-12 hours I get an email from Jen either confirming or advising a new date for my appointment. I then confirm the appointment in the email and that's it! I really, really appreciate that convenience for those always on the go and their hours are phenomenal. It's really hard to find someone who stays open as late as them and are open on Saturday. I took my 17 yo Shelby Lynne ( pit lab mix) here on a recommendation from a friend. My girl had cancer and was in alot of pain although it was a very sad and heartbreaking reason for being there I found the staff to be exceptionally kind,thoughtful and caring! When we arrived at 6:45 and though they closed at 7 we were not rushed or made to feel uncomfortable in any way! I needed to find a good,caring vet for my fur babies and so far I have had nothing but positive experiences! This practice has cared for 2 of my pets. One was a gentle giant and easy to care for. My current dog is adopted and is much more difficult. Everyone here is very professional and has dealt with the hard pet as well as the easy one. They are expensive, I have not yet been to a vet that is not--but it is full service and on the one occasion were I needed to consult a surgeon, Dr Mancini was very forthright. Doctor Duane Mangini is a kind and caring person. He examined my furkid for problems with his eyes and explained the situation professionally and with kindness. He referred me to an eye specialist. He could have easily charged us for numerous tests but he did not. He explained several options but ultimately gave me the best advice for my dog. I have now switched both of my dogs to his practice. I had taken my dog Ramona to Dr. Mangini since moving to Baltimore in 2006. He is the best, and when I finally had to take her to the Rainbow Bridge in 2012 the entire staff helped me with great compassion. When I adopted my kitten Violet 3 years ago I took her there for a limp...one shot and she was better. Today I took her back for some neck scabs and met Dr. Papke who was also wonderful and diagnosed her with environmental allergies... 2 shots and Violet is already feeling better...thus vet practice is TOPS in my book. This is the best Vet facility I have ever take Tiger to! The staff is MAGNIFICENT!! He usually sees Dr. Melinda Everhart, who I have known for a couple years. She, all the techs, receptionists and anyone caring for furry patients are knowledgeable, kind and extremely sweet to Tiger when he comes in. They let me cry when I need to and they don't ever make me feel bad because I'm concerned about my Tiger! I still have not figured how they are able to clip his toenails quickly and without scars! All of my pets have been patients of Parkville Animal Hospital for years! Dr. Mangini and Dr. Everhard are both excellent Veterinarians. They have cared for my pets from routine check ups to urgent care and some surgeries too. It's always easy to schedule an appointment and when it's urgent they see you right away. The staff have always been professional and friendly. I prefer a smaller practice to a large one or to chain stores that offer Vet services because it's more personal, they actually know your name when you call or come in for an appointment. Read Less
