Let me begin by saying: The hardest things to let go off when moving here from the Midwest were my vets. My dogs two 20 pound puggles, one female (spayed, age 7) and one male (neutered, age 6, with a ventricular arrhythmia) had the same primary care vet for five years, and Rupert had been receiving excellent specialized care at the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital. That said, after our first exam (a simple yearly checkup), I was very happy with the quality of care and customer service provided at Lynn Animal Hospital. The most surprising and unfortunate aspect of the visit was the building itself; exam room one is located directly through the reception area, slightly off to the side so the view is admittedly somewhat obstructed. Things were a bit crowded with me, my partner, the two dogs, the vet, and the assistant gathered; plus, because the room was not isolated, we could neither take the dogs off their leashes NOR sit as there was only one tall stool. The best aspect of the visit was the vet himself; Dr. Carman is friendly and funny. He was also very knowledgeable; he offered comparisons of all the various flea/tick/heartworm preventatives but ultimately said our picks Trifexis and Preventic collars were perfectly acceptable even if Lynn does not sell the latter in-store. He suggested we try Oravet (dental hygiene chews given daily) to improve the condition of both dogs teeth, and we have now gone through the entire box, ready to buy another. At $13 for 14 bones, they seem a wise purchase. Other than the building itself, the only issues and minor ones at that were that Chloes nail was cut to the quick and bled after Dr. Carman already had to make two separate insertions to withdraw blood. Both mistakes were handled calmly and quickly such that Chloe did not become distressed. I look forward to developing as successful a veterinary care relationship with the staff here as back home!Read Less
