We are now living in a retirement community so money is tight.  So I did a lot of on-line research before selecting Petvacx over another practice that was walking distance from us.  My husband and I were so impressed with Petvacx.  We saw Dr. Wiley who was personable, knowledgeable, and took what we thought was a reasonable approach to recommending treatment that balanced the advanced age of our cat with the various tests, vaccinations, treatments that might be ordered.  She also was wonderful with our scaredy-cat who hid under a corner while Dr. Wiley soothed her into allowing her to pick her up.We liked that they offer home visits which could be worth doing on occasions as well as having mobile vans in a location nearer to us where we can go for routine visits.  They also offer free vaccines for rabies and distemper on Wednesday mornings regularly and this week have a special on a free urinalysis.  it's a nice spacious, clean place with what seemed to be ample parking and reception area.  We also liked all the other desk people and the tech who worked with us. Petvacx has two NEW and EXCELLENT owners, Dr . Wiley and Dr . Hudgins! There are a few new staff members as well. Everyone is super friendly and compassionate! I have had my one kitten there for all of her vaccines and had her spay done by Dr. Wiley. Her recovery time was excellent! I am having my other kitten spayed there on 3/12/18. I highly recommend this animal hospital. The staff is great, very friendly, and very informative. I took my pitbull for his annual and he loved it. He usually acts insane when taken to an animal hospital but I informed the staff he gets worked up and they immediately put on a bandana that had adaptil which made him a little more relaxed. Dr. Wiley was very patient and very gentle with Zusy. The prices are great! They gave me an estimate in advance which was super helpful. Dr.Wiley informed me of the many treatments that were possible to help Zusy with his seasonal allergies. She explained outcomes good and bad, which I though was very honest and straightforward. Finally found an animal hospital that cares for my dog not just my money. They also informed me about the van sites!!! That was a bonus because now my dogs vet is only a block a way! I took my cat in for a bacterial infection, and was carrying my dead cat home a week later Understaffed and incompetent. I brought a case against Raymond Craft with the Maryland State Board of Veterinary Medicine. Always check your State Board web site before choosing a Veterinarian. Worst place ever. Their communication skills are terrible. The vet is extremely slow. I came to pick up pain killers for my dog (only person here) waited 45 then asked the receptionist what was taking so long, 15 min later the vet tells me they ran out of the smaller pills and had to cut the larger size but would have to wait a while. I HATE THIS PLACE!! Will be taking my dog to the other vet up the street. So disrespectful and not mindful at all of people's time. Read Less

Petvacx has new owners and I decided to take my kitties there for checkups and  their annual rabies vaccinations and I am so glad I did.  I have used the services of two other vet practices in the area and this was by far and in every way the best experience I have had.The entire staff seems happy to be there and that translates to excellent, friendly service.  I was put on a brief hold when I called to make the appointment, but then I was offered the option of having her enter the information about my cats over the phone so there would be no delay for paperwork when we came in - less stress for me and my cats.At the office, instead of walking into a 1950's era, low-ceilinged dark place, I found a bright airy waiting area and with absolutely no animal odor, so pleasant!  We were brought into the examining room and I knew immediately that it had been prepared for a kitty visit.   A Feliway defuser had been plugged in and both my cats and I began to relax.  My four-year old kitties are sisters but as different as night and day.  Since her first kitten visits, the crazy one has not had a real exam.  Other vets have been impressed with her growls and shrieks and with oven-mitted hands, they have simply popped the top on her carrier, given her a vaccination without removing her and called it a day.  While the Feliway helped, it could not tame the wild beast in her, but despite her vocalizations, the technician wrapped her in a towel, burrito style, and then unwrapped different parts as the examination progressed; all the while, both she and Dr. Wiley spoke gently to her.  She may never love this vet, but I certainly did.The other "easy" kitty has a chronic disease that requires a special diet and on-going meds.  Dr. Wiley was able to answer all my questions about the medication protocol, questions that had gone unanswered for the last two years since she was diagnosed.So, here is the bottom line - in this trip to the vet, I found pleasant surroundings, happy, helpful people, and extremely knowledgeable professionals who treated my kitties and me with sensitivity, thoroughness and respect.I understand that this vet practice offers a lot of options for pet care.  They have a mobile van to serve a wider community and they make house calls.  Amazing! I contacted this place through a Facebook Message, no response. Then I tried sending a message through Yelp, no response. Then I called and spoke to a lady - she took down all of my contact information and information about my cats. She said she would return my call by the end of the day to provide me with pricing and appointment availability for an in-home appointment. This was 3 weeks ago. I'm not sure what type of business ignores potential clients but I am extremely disappointed and will be taking my cats elsewhere for a checkup. Get your act together, PetVacx. Read Less

I drive 30 minutes from my house just to go to this place. They are the best. Unlike a place Wheaton I used to go to, they do not try to get you to get every test under the sun and take more of your money. They offer other options to try before having a major expense. I first heard of Petvacx several years ago through a friend who has brought his cats there for years.  Over the years, I, too, have been very satisfied with the care my cats have received.  The doctors are highly knowledgeable and can balance the need to be frank with sensitivity to the pet owner.  The staff members are friendly and caring. I should have stopped taking my cat here when it became clear that he hates this place. He freaks out every time I bring him, hisses at the doctors. I figured he was just bad at vets. But, then I had to take him to vets elsewhere (specialist and one emergency), and he let them examine him and didn't make a fuss. I've actually considered suing this place because they completely missed my cat's ear infection, even after multiple visits and inspections, which got so bad that it caused permanent seizures. Dr. Craft seems to be the more competent of the two vets and if you need just the yearly check-up and shots, I think he's fine for that, but he makes fun of my cat, which makes me really uncomfortable, and I'm assuming he'll retire soon because he's in his 70s. I just can't deal with them anymore, so I'm switching to another vet. Read Less

She didn't fully explained what she was going to do. She just wanted to operate on our dog for money. She didn't spend enough time on tests to see what was wrong with her . Operated on our dog then a week later told us that she couldn't remove all of the tumor. We took our dog to another vet that was actually caring and helpful, just to find out the our dog has cancer all over her body which Dr. Gibson couldn't find . Read Less

We are extremely satisfied with Petvacx at home service and we highly recommend them. Dr. Dodson and her assistant came to our home and put to sleep our 21 year old beloved cat Sushi. They provided this service in an amazingly professional manner. Dr. Dodson has shown a lot of compassion for Sushi and for us and proceeded with kindness and care every step of this very difficult process. I first took my pup to the mobile clinic that was at Petco his first year of getting anything done.  I did wait in line a while but that's to be expected.  The registering was pretty thorough which was good and the vet was experienced.  I know that because of who he knew including Temple Grandin a famous animal behavior specialist  who also happens to be autistic. He was very nice and caring toward my dog and the price was very reasonable.  The next time I had to take my dog was for neutering and at the same time boarding because I went on a business trip.  The cost was reasonable not "cheap."   Well boarding was pretty inexpensive.  My dog seemed to do well with the boarding and suffered no lasting anxieties from that so I didn't see any signs of abuse or mistreatment.  I have seen employees walking the boarded dogs so I believe they do walk them as they say they do.  As for the gentleman who posted a review that a doctor took his dog's temperature through the rectum, that is the standard way it is done.  Just because his dog now has anxiety doesn't mean the Vet did anything wrong.  Maybe his dog is super anxious to begin with anyway.  Maybe he should work on that instead of blasting the doctor and clinic. And for the lady who didn't get the phone call before her appointment and so therefore didn't have her cats rounded up, administrative mix ups happen with all busy businesses and no business has 100% stellar employees.  There are always great employees, good employees and some that have to be disciplined or managed out.  That doesn't make this clinic a terrible care provider for animals.  Why didn't you have your cats rounded up to begin with before the visit?  Did you really need a call to know they would need to be rounded up before the visit?  Would an extra half an hour being rounded up to ensure they were in place  before the care provider arrived have meant that much difference for your cats?   . What if you got the call and had difficulty rounding them up in time as you did when the Vet arrived?  You should have also been prepared.  I just don't think it's fair for people to be so harsh when they don't receive perfection and publically proclaim a buisness is a terrible provider because of a single mistake.  If my dog ever receives actual medical maltreatment, I will post it.  But, I will not publically blast a clinic for a single administrative error or for taking temperature the standard way.  If all our employers were so harsh with us maybe none of us would have a job.I don't know the owner of this establishment or the people there but I believe that these online forums bring out the worst in people.  I wish people would calm down and be reasonable when posting reviews.  If you don't want to go there that's one thing, but be far and reasonable when posting reviews and take responsibility for your own errors in judgment. This place doesn't deserve a single star. Took my dog here when he was sick a few months back . Dr.craft and his amazing team forced my dog to get his temperature taken ( by shoving a thermometer up his ass)  he was taken to another room  away from me and I couldn't do anything but hear my dog yell , whine and cry  ,   Now my dog wont come with in 2ft of any vet clinic really sucks how traumatized he is after this experience . Great staff very attentive and friendly. The doctor was also great she went over my concerns one by one and explained everything thoroughly. They knew how to handle my miniature poodle who is a biter. They didn't put a muzzle on my dog like the previous place I went to. I was very upset about that and that's why I switched. I have been using Petvacx longer than I can remember. I began using them because of their mobile service. My cat was impossible to get into a carrier so I chose Petvacx to make a house call. I have continued using them ever since that first visit as the vets are very knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and thorough. It is obvious they love animals. I love the doctors and staff of Petvacx. 12 years ago, upon the recommendation of my neighbor, I chose Petvacx to provide care for my littermate brother pups. In late October I had to euthanize my boy, Jerry, due to illness. It was without question the hardest thing I have ever had to do. The bond between animals and their owners is so deep it requires the veterinarians and their staff to impart a level of respect and care far beyond what is their responsibility when euthanizing a family pet. There are no words adequate enough to express my gratitude to everyone at Petvacx for not only relieving Jerry from his suffering but also for being there with extraordinary love and compassion during this most difficult time for me. The reality of it is your veterinarian not only provides care for your pet but also for you. For many of us our pets are our family. The first thing that I realized so many years ago is everyone at Petvacx genuinely loves my boys. Dr. Craft, Dr. Dodson, and Dr. Gibson take as much time as is needed to answer all of the questions and concerns I have and to provide instructions for care or information to educate me. I knew from the first visit Petvacx was caring for my boys the same way they would care for their own pets. I am convinced we have received the best care possible.
