Am I the only one who feels they overcharge and try to get you to spend more? I brought my dog in for an ear infection that I'm already familiar with because she gets it every time the seasons change due to allergies. It was my first time here and chose it because it is close by and had great ratings. The vet only gave me medicine for one week and told me if it doesn't take care of it, to come get more. Every other time my dog has had this she is given 2 weeks of medication. Then, they called me because they wanted to schedule a follow up appt to check to make sure the infection was gone. I asked if they would charge me for that and they said yes. I've never had a vet office ask me to come in for a follow up on her ears. Sure, they've called to see if it went away, which is all that's necessary in my book. Also they charged for nail clipping when EVERY other place I've been does it complimentary during your visit. Microchipping is very expensive there too. It's like they are taking advantage of people who dont know better. I won't be going here again.

Four days ago, my granddog Stormy had eyelid surgery to remove a mass. She had her teeth cleaned and nails clipped while she was under anesthesia. There is no swelling and she does not appear to be in any discomfort. The Olney-Sandy Spring Veterinary Hospital offers the most current and advanced techniques in the areas of small animal medicine, surgery, dentistry, oncology, reproductive services, and integrative medicine. Over the past 32 years, I have used many hospitals in the DMV area. This veterinary hospital is by far the best. The staff and veterinarians are kind, professional, caring and attentive. They also offer boarding. I wish I had found them before my three dogs died. I would certainly have had them freeze their sperm. Like Stormy, Gustafsen, Freddie, and Phinnaeus were the best dogs ever. Thank you.

All the people associated with Olney-Sandy Spring Veterinary Hospital are attentive to my pet's needs on every visit. They are a special group at the hospital.
This past summer I was unable to get either daughter to watch my cat. At the last minute before leaving on vacation for a week I took the cat in for a stay. I have never had to do it before in my 32 years as a cat owner. I was concerned, as was the cat by the look on his face. On my return he was better than ever, happy to see me and in good spirits. I won't think twice if the need arises again!

The doctors have always called me back with test results and as a follow-up to see how Spikers was doing. It is a trip for me to go there but I would not trust another veterinary hospital with my pets needs.

Rockie has seen at least two different vets at OSSVH, some on a regular appointment basis and another on an emergency basis. The vets are all knowledgeable and have provided excellent care for a senior dog with a few health problems. I would recommend to anyone with a pet. The front desk employees are welcoming and knowledgeable as well.

OSSVH is absolutely amazing. I'm a first time dog owner and came here upon a recommendation, and I'm so glad I did. Every single person here is so friendly and welcoming. My dog loved everyone and enjoyed all the treats, cheese and attention that she got :) Dr Phillips was wonderful. She spent a lot of time with us, no rushing, and is just an incredible doctor. I recommend this place for anyone with a pet!

We've been with Olney-Sandy Spring Vet for over 10 years and alway have had a good experience. The staff and vets are great. They have a separate portion of the waiting area for cats, with a low wall so they can't see the dogs.
We usually board the cats with them when we leave town. They have large cages so our two cats can share, and an area for play/exercise.
When our work schedule got a bit crazy last year, we tried a practice closer to us. But we just didn't think we received the same quality of care, and went right back to Olney-Sandy Spring.

We've been going to OSSVH since it was in the old shopping center with Dr. Deitchman. Tho we miss him, we've been quite pleased with the various vets we've dealt with throughout the years. Dr. Phillips has been very thorough and caring in dealing with Seborrhea in one of our dogs. Recently we saw Dr. Hoffman for another problem and she was equally thorough and spent a lot of time with us. The staff is always very friendly and efficient, and they all obviously love animals.

I have been a regular client of OSSV Hospital for over 6 years. I own a purebred Cattery, Pundit Cattery, CFA and require regular, and excellent, services for my felines. I have never had a bad experience with the reception staff, or the professional staff. They are caring, supportive and well versed in current and evolving treatments for their patients. I have had emergencies that were well handled; I have had routine appointments that were pleasant and professional.
I recommend them highly for all my clients.

We are collecting donations of: clothing, furniture, toys, books, tools, electronics etc (anything clean and in good working order) for the MC Humane Society thrift store. The MC Humane Society saves over 500 pets a year (including our dog 7 years ago). Please donate something --and buy a delicious homemade cupcake or brownie at the bake sale!

Since our trip to Starkville, New York for lure coursing a few weeks ago Crumpet had a slight hitch in his step from a tumble that he took. I did some research and found Dr. Cheryl Stiehl who practices at the Olney-Sandy Spring Veterinary Hospital and she adjusted him and it made a world of difference and his hitch was gone and he is better than ever! I told Dr. Stiehl that Crumpet last weekend got his first 1st and finished his ASFA Field Champion in at the Tri-State Sighthound Club and she was absolutely thrilled! I am so thankful that I found her with her knowledge, caring and wonderful results from her services!

We heard so many great things about this hospital that, when Cookie was injured we drove her 1 hour and 45 minutes to the best doctor we could ask for. Our dog is 9 1/2 years old and has never had any problems before. The experience was less traumatic thanks to the staff there. Our Cookie is like one of our children and her quality of care was fantastic. I can't thank you all enough. **As a side note to the public- this is a pet friendly and clean hospital** I have tried three other veterinarians in the past and Cookie (for the first time) showed no signs of aggression toward the staff who handled her. We WILL be driving her back for all her needs. If you want a place that treats your pets in a loving manner, this is the place to go.

I have never had to do it before in my 32 years as a cat owner. I was concerned, as was the cat by the look on his face. On my return he was better than ever, happy to see me and in good spirits. I won't think twice if the need arises again!

I have been a client of OSSVH for at least 10 years. In that time I have found the doctors as well as the administrative staff to be kind, helpful, and courteous. The doctors have always called me back with test results and as a follow-up to see how Spikers was doing. It is a trip for me to go there but I would not trust another veterinary hospital with my pets needs.

Dr. Hoffman takes time to explain Titi's,, health issues.. I am very happy with our experience. The staff is very professional, helpful and courteous.. A 5 star rating in my opinion.

Rockie has seen at least two different vets at OSSVH, some on a regular appointment basis and another on an emergency basis. The vets are all knowledgeable and have provided excellent care for a senior dog with a few health problems. I would recommend to anyone with a pet. The front desk employees are welcoming and knowledgeable as well.

OSSVH is absolutely amazing. I'm a first time dog owner and came here upon a recommendation, and I'm so glad I did. Every single person here is so friendly and welcoming. My dog loved everyone and enjoyed all the treats, cheese and attention that she got :) Dr Phillips was wonderful. She spent a lot of time with us, no rushing, and is just an incredible doctor. I recommend this place for anyone with a pet!

We've been with Olney-Sandy Spring Vet for over 10 years and alway have had a good experience. The staff and vets are great. They have a separate portion of the waiting area for cats, with a low wall so they can't see the dogs.
We usually board the cats with them when we leave town. They have large cages so our two cats can share, and an area for play/exercise.
When our work schedule got a bit crazy last year, we tried a practice closer to us. But we just didn't think we received the same quality of care, and went right back to Olney-Sandy Spring.

We've been going to OSSVH since it was in the old shopping center with Dr. Deitchman. Tho we miss him, we've been quite pleased with the various vets we've dealt with throughout the years. Dr. Phillips has been very thorough and caring in dealing with Seborrhea in one of our dogs. Recently we saw Dr. Hoffman for another problem and she was equally thorough and spent a lot of time with us. The staff is always very friendly and efficient, and they all obviously love animals.

I have been a regular client of OSSV Hospital for over 6 years. I own a purebred Cattery, Pundit Cattery, CFA and require regular, and excellent, services for my felines. I have never had a bad experience with the reception staff, or the professional staff. They are caring, supportive and well versed in current and evolving treatments for their patients. I have had emergencies that were well handled; I have had routine appointments that were pleasant and professional.
I recommend them highly for all my clients.

We are collecting donations of: clothing, furniture, toys, books, tools, electronics etc (anything clean and in good working order) for the MC Humane Society thrift store. The MC Humane Society saves over 500 pets a year (including our dog 7 years ago). Please donate something --and buy a delicious homemade cupcake or brownie at the bake sale!

Since our trip to Starkville, New York for lure coursing a few weeks ago Crumpet had a slight hitch in his step from a tumble that he took. I did some research and found Dr. Cheryl Stiehl who practices at the Olney-Sandy Spring Veterinary Hospital and she adjusted him and it made a world of difference and his hitch was gone and he is better than ever! I told Dr. Stiehl that Crumpet last weekend got his first 1st and finished his ASFA Field Champion in at the Tri-State Sighthound Club and she was absolutely thrilled! I am so thankful that I found her with her knowledge, caring and wonderful results from her services!

We heard so many great things about this hospital that, when Cookie was injured we drove her 1 hour and 45 minutes to the best doctor we could ask for. Our dog is 9 1/2 years old and has never had any problems before. The experience was less traumatic thanks to the staff there. Our Cookie is like one of our children and her quality of care was fantastic. I can't thank you all enough. **As a side note to the public- this is a pet friendly and clean hospital** I have tried three other veterinarians in the past and Cookie (for the first time) showed no signs of aggression toward the staff who handled her. We WILL be driving her back for all her needs. If you want a place that treats your pets in a loving manner, this is the place to go.
