Took my dog to get put down, the vet was able to do it very quickly which was a plus as my dog was suffering. He also answered all my questions about pricing very well. When I got there it didn't take long for him to give my dog the injections, and I watched him peacefully pass on. It was very quick and he was calm, and the vet offered to let me stay with my dog for a while. Afterwards I asked about getting my other dog fixed and he explained to me once again the pricing and necessary documents I'd need. He even told me where to get a coupon online to cut down on costs. Thank Goodness for Foxhall Veterinary Clinic.  Dr. Vaid, chief veterinarian, will give you the special attention you need for your pet.  There is no one in this tri-state area like him.  He is 100% dependable, very smart, extraordinarily knowledgeable, efficient, and most compassionate.  I have not found all of these qualities anywhere around here in a veterinarian.  (Maybe one, in Friendship Heights, but he is probably semi-retired.)  Dr. Vaid is always searching for answers and stays on top of the latest medical findings in peer-reviewed journals, etc.  Dr. Vaid saved my beloved Pit Bull, Angel, from two ghastly advanced care veterinary settings elsewhere, and gave to her the best emergency care anyone could ask for in today's profit-driven veterinary care arena.  Squalid behind-the-scenes conditions in these other places caused my girl to contract multi-drug resistant pathogens that led to sepsis.  I got her out of there and Dr. Vaid at Foxhall devoted all the resources imaginable to our goal of achieving the best result for Angel at home.  I am indebted to Dr. Vaid for everything and recommend him highly. We have been taking our two dogs and two cats to Foxhall Veterinary Clinic for 8 years. Since we have so many pets, we find  Dr. Vaid to be fair in how he charges. He is not a very expressive person, but I know he cares about our pets. I was ready to put my very sick cat down when he was under observation, and Dr. Vaid convinced me to wait one more day to see if there was a turn for the better. Our puppy got into some chocolate bars while we were on vacation and my friend rushed her to Dr. Vaid and he saved her from liver failure. He watched her until we got home and told me not to worry about the bill until I came to pick her up. Confirming the other 1 star reviews. Honestly, the place and vet is horrible. It should be shut down. Absolutely DO NOT take your pets there, if you care about them. How and why this guy became a vet is beyond me. Clerks at the grocery store and fast food places are more professional and caring than this guy. He was not at all attentive to my dogs and was just going through the motions.   Most of the injection spilled. No apology. No nada. He only spoke when asking for payment.  I just paid for the service and got out of there. In hindsight, I should have done a chargeback. Read Less

I went to this vet to get a physical and shots for my dogs. His work was very sloppy, did not appear friendly to my dogs, did not try to calm them down or talk to them. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Read Less

I needed my dog's rabies vaccination on short notice due to vacation falling on it's due date and couldn't get in with our regular vet. I found this place and called and they had an immediate opening the next day so I booked it...now I regret not catching those obvious signs. We arrived to find it's a vet office in the located in the bottom of a home, it's locked and had to wait on him to answer the door. There is NO STAFF, just the veterinarian who does the paper work, phone lines, computer and everything. He was okay, and he did do our vaccinations, but I had to restrain my own dog. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but I had my young son with me. A second staffer would have been MORE than helpful, he took three phone calls while we were in the exam room! He was okay, but I won't be going back. With a limited staff and equipment, I would've expected more competitive pricing at least, but he was just as expensive as a full service veterinary clinic. I took my puppy to Foxhall to get spayed after reading the last review and although I overlooked the filthy office I ended up leaving after meeting with the doctor. He didn't even look at me and would hardly communicate. He was even having a hard time understanding which vaccines my dog has had when they were written as plain as day on the records from my normal vet. So scary that this man is doing surgery. First, when I show up the door is locked even though there was a big OPEN sign on it. When the woman finally came to unlock it she wouldn't hold the door open for me even though I had the very heavy cat carrier in my hands. Then, they had a kitten wandering around the dark, unwelcoming lobby. This wasn't good because my cat was scared as it was and he does not like other animals. PLUS, what if I had a pet dog?!?! As for the vet, he tried to get my cat out of his carrier by shaking it upside down and acted as though it was dumb for my cat to be scared. He also treated me like I was an idiot without any compassion for my feelings. My cat is like my baby and the vet should have understood that I was just as stressed as my poor little cat. On top of all that, all I wanted was his annual vaccines but without asking the vet gave him a shot for "dry skin" and then could not give him his annual shots after that. He asked me to come back in two weeks but I will NOT. I will find somewhere else to get his annual vaccines. I do not recommend going here.Read Less

Dr. Vaid is wonderful. He is an excellent diagnostician, and is very conservative in his care of animals. Our dog, Harley, is a rescued dog. He came to us with many problems (worms, weakness, bad nutrition, flea infestation, skin problems, no shots, etc). Dr. Vaid's wonderful care was invaluable in hearling all of Harley's ills. Harley had some severe emotional scars as well. Dr. Vaid taught us how to work with him and get him to trust us and enjoy his new home. Harley has been with us for 2 years and he is a GREAT DOG thanks, in large part, to the care, both physicially and emotionally, that Dr. Vaid gave him and continues to provide. Read Less
