Al-Lynn Animal Hospital

I have a Miniature Pinscher and she has been with Dr. Aryal since she was born. She is now 14 yrs old. Her mom was also a patient of Dr. Aryal. I've had nothing but the best years here and he works with his clients and cares for the animals. Nicole is a great assistant as well. She has a niche for all the animals and the feel comfortable in her care as well. Read Less

My dogs were of record and had been seen several times. One of my dogs had a true emergency and ultimately passed away. It was right after 4:00 one day and in a panic I called them and told the woman at the front desk what was happening. I told her I know that they are supposed to close at 5 but since we were only a few minutes away could we please bring my dog in. She said yes they close at 5 and that we could take her to an emergency after hours vet. She didn't not care at all about my dogs emergency and had no compassion at all. We switched vets and have not and will not ever go back. Read Less

The doctor has staff here are wonderful!  Knowledgeable, caring, accessible, and affordable. They have often seen my pet on short notice and even same day.   Dr. Aryal truly cares about every pet he sees. He was thorough in preparing my pet and all associated requirements and paperwork for exportation to the Caribbean and also identified and corrected an underlying problem. He even called me back on weekend to clarify certain procedures. His prices are half those of other "commercialized" Veterinarian offices and yet I consider him the best. We have used this clinic since the first owner of the practice in 1979. I love Dr. Aryal, Nicole and newcomer Simone. They are professional, caring and friendly. I have never had an issue with them and I ALWAYS follow their instructions and recommendations. When one of my cats kidneys began to decline I wondered if acupuncture would help. Dr. Aryal was very supportive of this option. I appreciated that when so many veterinarians scoffed at that treatment. His positive reaction encouraged me to follow that option. The results were my cat lived another four years. When my dog was diagnosed with a luxating patella Nicole recommended a clinic in Richmond VA for the surgery. I thought that was very nice of her. These two examples show how much the everyone in the practice loves and cares about their patients and their humans. Read Less

Dr A has been our vet for 20+ years. The clinic needs a facelift BUT the Dr knows his stuff! He's done discounted shots for SPCA, works after hours, been there when our pets died. He LOVES animals and is dedicated. His staff are all very friendly. Read Less

Dr Aryal has been treating the pets in my family for 30, yes THIRTY straight years ! I come over from Alexandria just because he cares for them so well. Currently we have 6 dogs in his care between me, my parents & my brothers. He is a straight shooter, no frills veterinarian who's aim is your animal's well being. He will not sugar coat information. His instructions are clear. And his heart is sincere. Others have commented that it's not a swanky upscale looking place but it doesn't need to be - it's NOT a pet spa, it's a clinic that is clean & well run. I never wait, he always has whatever supplies are needed and his staff is friendly & helpful. He goes the extra mile like he did today to operate on my dog when he is normally closed ! My family loves him, his brother & Nicole too! And we just met Katelyn who is really sweet & attentive. You are not going to find a better veterinarian. And he won't break your bank account either !! Prices are avg. for the area, some of the prices here are lower however too. Convenient hrs. Not much hi-tech equipment though, if needed. Dr. Aryal is a hard worker & accommodating, but a bit hard to understand his speech. Good dr., but not thorough all the time. He neglected a few things that I didn't realize til I got my pet back home. A grooming-type svc also looked a little abnormal (injurious; possible accident) to me based on past results when done elsewhere. 1 lady at front desk is curt, a bit abrasive, & annoyed-acting, if you can deal w/it. Very responsive and affordable care for your pet.  I highly recommend the ear cropping, shots and routine and emergency veterinary services.  Over the past 10 years I've owned two Cane Corso dogs.  I had their ears cropped at Al Lynn with no issues.  The doctor also identified an undetected minor health issue with one of my dogs. TOP RATE! My Maltese has been in the care of Al-Lynn since I received him 10 years ago.  My 3.5 baby is in superb health due to the caring staff and physician.  Dr. Al doesn't give him any unnecessary medications and will not give multiple meds at the same time due to his size.  The staff knows each pet owner and dogs/cats individually.  The facility is nothing fancy, but the care is by far the best in the area.  I recommend them highly without reservations. When you find a Vet who actually CARES for animals MORE than the love of money, you have found a beautiful gem...a diamond in the rough. There are plenty of quality Vets in the DMV area, BUT Al-Lynn is literally a FRACTION of the price for the same or better care. It is not as fancy LOOKING on the inside, as a lot of local animal clinics, but instead of surface aesthetic things, this office chooses to place the focus on the CARE of our animals. As long they are in business, I will take my pets there and no where else. Read Less

I used to work at the Al-Lynn Animal hospital. When Doctor Aryal first arrived into the area. Many moons ago, when I lived on Andrews AFB and my surname was Skinner back then. Doctor Aryal was a great boss and a fantastic vet. I worked very closely with him, in surgery and in the examination room. I have since moved back to my home town in the UK. But I often think about the clinic. Doctor Aryal is a caring and considerate veterinary surgeon, with a human touch. I would rate him as five stars. If I were to return to Maryland, I would use the Al-Lynn hospital without hesitation. Say hi to him from me, when you are next in there.Read Less

Dr. A is great. I was a new dog owner and not sure of what to expect. Totally exceeded my expectations. The staff is friendly and courteous. I have been using for my 3 yorkies for 4 years.I am more that satisfied . dr Balram takes his time and is very caring he makes sure you understand every thing.Also he does not try to run prices up.His staff may not have a lot of time for phone due to in office patients I guarantee if you go ther you would be very satisfied Read Less

Staff and Doctor are the best!   They never turn you away no matter how busy they are.  I foster along with having my own dog and cats and they are the only place I use.  You just can get any better than them.  The Doctor will often give price breaks too.  Very fair and caring, and wouldn't think twice about going there. I recently called this office/clinic because I was/am looking for a vet for my two 4-year old dogs. I found their clinic from the Pet Assure website and called to inquire about a couple of things, including prices of exams, dental cleaning (as one of my dogs has dental disease), and whether they accepted Pet Assure (since they ARE listed on their site). The woman who answered the phone was quite rude; answering my questions curtly, as if I was bothering her. When I asked her about whether they accepted Pet Assure, her tone went from rude to suspicious and accusing. It seemed as if she thought I was a marketer who was cold calling her. She proceeded to tell me that their phone lines were tapped, and muttered something about "advertising".I was pretty surprised at the manner in which this phone call was going, and I told her "I do not know what you are referring to."She muttered something again, and basically hung up on me.Suffice it to say, based on this phone conversation, I will NOT be bringing my dogs to this office. Despite the positive reviews this place has, the type of blatant disregard for customer service that I encountered has left me seriously doubting their ability to properly care for my dogs. The staff here are very rude. They lack customer service. Everytime I call I am always placed on a 5-10 min hold or the phone just rings with no anwser. When they do answer, the staff are very short with me and rush me off the phone. One staff member hung the phone up while I was still speaking. I had called to make sure I could use a different form of ID and use a check instead of a credit card because my wallet was stolen. I was told the only thing they would accept would be a driver license. So I told the staff member to cancel my appointment but before I had a chance to reschedule the appointment the lady hung the phone up in my face. I then called back and informed her that I wasn't finished speaking and that I was going to reschedule but now I will obtain another vet. She didn't even apologize or try to reschedule my appointment. This clinic may be cheap (it looks cheap and dirty inside as well) but dealing with the lack of customer service, it isn't worth it.
