TAKE YOUR ATTORNEY with you! I would have given a ZERO if possible. While you are sobbing over your pet, they will run through a list of tests and procedures THEY recommend. $250 here, $175 there... added up to $1325 on a twelve year old dog. I should have my head examined for going there. Both Timonium Animal Hosp & Towson have good ratings. I should have known better. YUK ! Read Less

I'd agree with previous reviews that the place seems mostly money oriented... They kept my mom and my hope up for our senior dog about her recovery despite probably knowing that she was on her way out and insisted we should pay for nearly $1000 worth of treatment despite repeatedly telling them that we did not have that kind of money to work with. We finally had to just make the decision to take our dog back with us and within 10min of giving her back to us she passed away, we were extremely glad she was with us when it happened and not at the hands of an animal hospital that doesn't seem to have a track record of seeing past the dollar bills... Would recommend the falls road animal hospital over this ER, they have emergency care 24/7 and are more affordable. Read Less

Although I feel the Drs. I've had were competent and my pet gets good care and prompt care in an emergency, they charged me almost $800 to diagnose my cat with an ear infection. With her symptoms the most common cause would be a simple ear infection causing balance problems or a possibly more serious neurological disorder. They did many hundreds of neurological tests before they checked for an ear infection. I have owned cats and fostered many over 40 years and have seen this issue a number of times and every time the vet checked their ears and sent them home with an antibiotic. Problem solved. The last one cost over $100. Read Less

I would rate then as less than a one. Terrible at communicating about what is being done to your pet. Our dog had to have emergency surgery and they quoted us 4 different prices. I waited for a call back for an update for 4 hours and finally had to call again and again to get a response. As others have aid this place is all about the money and that's it. No concern about the family or the stress their exorbitant prices put on the familt. My other pup had the same surgery for less than half the price and was able to stay in the vets office for 4 days to recover. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Read Less

My dog snapped his leg in half new years day .The service is alright but it seems like all these people are worried about is money. The place is 45 minutes away from us and we could never get an appointment for the bandage changes they insisted we do because the doctors were always "busy". So we had to drive there, leave my dog and then come back an hour later. They charged us almost 100 dollars for each bandage change and said that his leg is healing perfectly. The doctor seemed like he knew what he was doing and he said he was very confident that my dog could walk on his broken leg when everything was healed. When the cast finally came off and we could see his leg, It had healed completely bent to the point that it looks like it will snap again if weight is put on it. Not only that but they said that he might need another surgery to fix something that they missed the first time. We paid 3,500 dollars for the surgery and probably another 500 in bandage changes and check ups and they missed something??? Then they have the nerve to say they will discount the next surgery but it will still be over 1000 dollars. My dog cannot use his leg even after 4000 dollars spent and these people didn't even say they are sorry or think that anything was wrong. Other people have seemed to have good experiences with this place but I just wanted to tell our horrible experience. It really did seem that all these people were worried about is money and that's it, they cant seem to understand that not everyone has thousands upon thousands of dollars laying around to spend on dog surgeries that should have fixed everything the first time but didnt. I had never been to the Pet ER before but had to rush my poor dog there a couple weeks ago after she was attacked by an off leash dog while we were out on a walk. Thankfully my dog's injuries weren't too serious and mostly superficial but the staff here were all so incredibly nice and kind to both myself and my dog. Having my dog attacked was one of the scariest and most traumatic things I've ever experienced, so when we first arrived I was incredibly shaken and upset. The ladies at the desk were so kind and helpful and one of them even came around and gave me hug when she saw that I was crying. That meant so much to me in that moment. The techs and the doctor were also all beyond nice and took such good care of my dog. They were so gentle and kind to her and really went above and beyond to help us both feel at ease. I would highly recommend Pet E.R. and was very pleased with their level of empathy and care during an extremely difficult time. On a Friday evening, my miniature schnauzer, Daphne, suddenly had a very difficult time breathing. After consulting with someone at the front desk over the phone, we rushed her to Pet E.R. Unfortunately, my best friend of 13 years died in my arms about a minute before we arrived. When we entered the building, they immediately took us back to the procedure room before confirming she had left this world. They wrapped Daphne in a blanket and gave us a room, for as long as we needed, to spend time with my little girl. When we were ready, they discussed options for cremation. A couple days after, Pet E.R. sent us a clay medallion with her paw print on it. And less than a week later, Daphne was ready to be picked up in an ornately carved box with her name on it and a laminated card about the Rainbow Bridge was included with it. Fast forward a week later, the staff sent us a card with personalized messages hand-written inside. As a life-long dog owner, I have never received such exemplary service from a veterinarian, let alone one that we had never visited before. Thank you everyone at Pet E.R. for making our loss easier and being so incredibly compassionate. I am eternally grateful. Read Less

Like any ER, it is expensive. If you're here, it's probably because something has gone terribly and unexpectedly wrong, so the cost is tough to swallow on top of everything else. That said, they were up front with me about costs along the way. I was sent here by my regular vet, who had told me that my cat was on his deathbed when I brought him in to get a cough and lethargy checked out. I was extremely distraught when I arrived at Pet ER. The vet we saw (I think her name was Gisela), was so kind. Though she had just spoken with my regular vet on the phone, she took the time to sit on the floor with my cat, petting him and listening to observations I provided about his condition before choosing a course of action. Our conversation and her taking the time to interact with my cat on his level led to her discovering what the real problem was: an ear infection. I have been telling vets for months as his condition has deteriorated that there is something wrong with my his ears, and they always blew me off and said they seemed fine. Finally, someone listened and took the time to thoroughly investigate. Once he's through this treatment, he's going to feel better than he has in a long time. I'm thankful. I arrived there sobbing and believing he would never get to go home again, and all the staff I encountered was efficient and kind. Read Less

I've unfortunately had to bring pets here several times, and can say that my pets have always been treated well here. Admittedly, this is an emergency hospital, and emergency medicine is always expensive. I suspect a lot of the "shell game" other reviewers have mentioned here is largely an attempt by the ER to cover themselves from customers backing out once their pets are feeling better and they're confronted with the bill. But, my experience has been that the vets and vet techs have always proven knowledgable and caring. The vets always did a great job of explaining where how long it would take to be seen, and then on the list of options available to us for care. I never felt strong-armed into accepting unnecessary treatment. Thanks to the vets here for all the great care they've provided my pets over the years! Read Less

On labor day my husband and I had to make a really hard decision to put our 10 year old Akita to sleep. He had been dealing with some really horrible and debilitating hip dysplasia since he was 1 year old. The arthritis got extremely bad and he wouldn't stand up to go use the bathroom, this was going on for about a year, on and off for 6 months, then every day for the last 6 months, this caused a whole host of other issues, aside from him being a big boy (100lbs) and being recently diagnosed with a retinal disorder (so he couldn't see well) and him being older, and less tolerant made our household extremely tense. The vet we took him to in June 2016 said that at that point it would be a quality of life issue, not a "will meds make him better" issue. so we tried the medications and by the time Labor day came, his conditions progressed past recovery. We called Pet ER and spoke to them and asked lots of questions about the process and they answered all of our questions.  Tearfully, we brought him in and they walked us through the process, and gave us time to sit with him and were very patient with us. We were able to sit with him on the floor after they gave him the last dosage of the medication, so we were with him past his last breath.....They were extremely accommodating, gentle, and caring. They sent us a clay plaque with his paw print in it, it even had a few strands of his fur stuck in the clay. We love the paw print...and thank Pet ER for being so gentle with us during that rough time...from time to time I find a strand of his hair somewhere and know he is saying good morning from the clouds! I'm retired, but I used to own & operate a fairly large local business.  So I appreciate a well run operation.  One of my biggest complaints about my several human doctors' offices is how rushed, disorganized and uncaring the staff often is; more concerned about ordering lunch and chatting with pharmaceutical reps and other staff than taking care of patients.THEY COULD ALL TAKE A LESSON FROM Pet+ER.  Had a pretty sick dog and her vet immediately referred to Pet+ER.  The staff was amazing--efficient, caring, knowledgeable.  The physical plant was meticulously clean with 2 janitorial staff people constantly cleaning--no animal smell--my allergies didn't even kick in.  The veterinarians (we dealt mostly with Dr. Jiwoong Her) informed us every step of the way and everyone went out of his or her way to give the best care without excessive cost.  Dr. Meyerhof even called us in the evening to say that our dog could be discharged early since she was responding so well, saving us quite a bit of money.I can't get over how wonderful such a stressful experience can be--to know your canine family member is getting the best care there is.  She wasn't even anxious to leave or when we needed to return, which was really surprising to us as she often pulls away from places she doesn't like.Highly recommend. Took our dog Hoover here Sunday and had to put him down Monday evening. The doctor we had for the euthanization was very kind and made sure my baby went away peacefully. The reason I gave them 3 stars is because as we were saying our LAST good bye to our dog one of the staff members had the nerve to walk in our room and ask us if we wanted to pay our bill!! Yeah I get it's a business and you have to collect balances but we only owed a remaining $133.00 dollars... AFTER paying $3,300 the day before just for ONE nights stay!! The professional way would've just to send a statement or ask my dad to even come in the hall... not ask in the room where we were saying good bye to our sick dog!!! It was NOT an appropriate time to ask for a lousy $133.00. Sorry but that shows that they're just money hungry with not much compassion. Like everyone else said- only come here if you have thousands of dollars to spend. It was $3,300 for one night (with meds & ultrasound). The prices these pet ER facilities charge are crazy and not affordable to the average person... no wonder people have to put their dogs down. Very sad!!Read Less

Our Maxwell had fallen out of a tree and was hurt....The staff were great, they triaged our Maxwell Smart (as well as every animal that comes in)....to make sure they are not critical. Let me say again, within 3 minutes of walking in the door with our cat.....some one took us back to TRIAGE, and made sure Max was stable.   He was....so we knew we would be taken in turn, after the pained people that came in with dogs that had been hit by cars, etc. (just like in an ER).Maxwell had X rays (3 of them) , bloodwork, (full panel)... and pain meds., as well as antibiotics.....at 9 pm at night on a Saturday. The staff checked on us. and was so nice......there is coffee....tea, a vending machine....This place is an animal ER....unless you have worked in an ER....you really can not appreciate all the staff do, and deal with. .Dr Jiwoong Her...excellent DVM,  is so gracious, and humble.    He took the time to explain EVERYTHING to us.Max had fractured TWO ribs, and had several other serious issues as a result of that.a couple suggestions for the overall staff.....just observations....NOT hating....I think you ALL kick ass!!1)   when the vet decides to keep the patient in the back for observation......PLEASE send some one to just let the family know.   Max was gone for an hour and 15 minutes.....when they came to get him for his "second xray".    (They were watching him to make sure he was stable).    Crucial info for worried parents, and could have eased our minds.2)  The vet tech that releases the patient.(discharge instruction).....maybe ........not talk in "medical terms".    Dumb it down a little ...My wife and I have experience in the medical field, but a lot of people do not.   Most people will not say "I don't understand that"....because they feel silly.....Just remember.....people do not know what" pulmonary contusion", and "subcutaneous emphysema"....means.Cost....yes....it was expensive....but you know what....I found the cost reasonable, for an EMERGENCY VET+ ER..They saved our Maxwell Smart......at 9pm....on a Saturday.     24 hours ....7 days a week......THAT...is priceless... We had the unfortunate event of our dog chewing on wire carpeting - she was not digesting food or water and was vomiting. We rushed to the Pet+ER and didn't wait long - that was a positive. Upon our dog being examined, which included a scan of her stomach, we were told that emergency surgery was necessary and needed to be done ASAP (all of this being determined without the results from the scan coming back. Dr. Tyler was adamant on doing the surgery and as were we until the financial aspect came about. We were quoted above $5k - you read that right, more than $5,000.00. This was just too much for our wallets and we could not find a single way of coming up with that type of money. We looked into the pet insurance but interest rates were just absurd. We tried to do everything we could and even contemplated putting her to rest - we didn't have the financial luxury of affording that or finding someone to assist. We were pressured greatly by Dr. Tyler and then an amazing assistant advised us to call other veterinarians in the area to get a quote. We did and thankfully got in touch with Bel Air Pet ER. Dr. Tyler of Pet+E.R. was amazing (sense sarcasm), she made every insinuation that we were terrible pet owners and then had the nerve to say I was an abusive boyfriend because I was the decision maker as my inconsolable girlfriend couldn't fathom putting down her dog but as a graduate student did not have the funds to put forth. Long story short - we took her to Bel Air ER at 11:30 at night, greeted by an amazing staff and had her stay overnight for examination. She passed the carpeting naturally and did not require surgery. I paid a tenth of what she quoted and we have a healthy dog.Note to self, if you want to be judged and pressured, Pet+E.R. is your go-to! Read Less

I've read some bad reviews and I have to say my experience was the total opposite. It left me wondering if those people even went to the same place. I was awaken to a very disturbing situation of my 13 yr old Rat Terrie Lizzie in distress. Unfortunately she passed away on the way to Pet Er. When we arrived my husband went in ahead of me and told the young lady at the desk that our dog wasn't breathing and before I could get out the car another young lady was running out behind him and immediately took her into her arms and rushed her to the back where at least another 4-5 people rushed to help her, unfortunately she didn't have a pulse and was apparent she had passed but I'm confident that if there was anything they could do they would have done it. They then put us in a room and brought her in wrapped in a pink blanket and let us spent as much time as we needed with her. Everyone gave their condolences, then told us our options for her remains. I opted to get her cremated and to get her ashes back. Two days later I received her paw print in a clay mold in the mail and less then a week later I received a call that her ashes were ready for pick up. Upon arrival to get her ashes another young lady at the desk, retrieved her ashes from the back and walked around the desk to give her to me and again gave her condolences. Lizzie's ashes were put in a very lovely wooden box that came with a certificate, a very kind poem and a gold plated name plate. Although me losing her was extremely hard, heart breaking and earth shattering everyone at Pet Er was very kind sincere,as well as empathic and I'm very thankful for them. Read Less

To all dog owners, please do not take your dog here.Long story short, my dog started bleeding uncontrollably. They wouldn't do surgery on my dog who was diagnosed with pyometra because they suspected she had cancer. We did the right thing and took her home (after $500 worth of testing) and then took her to the emergency vet hospital in Bel Air. There, they saved her life. Her primary vet told us that she was shocked that they didn't perform surgery on her the night we took her in and try to stablize her prior to surgery because it is an EMERGENCY situation. It was never communicated to me how deadly this disease was until I googled it. This is our first pet and our family has never had animals, so this was all new to us. If we had listened to the Pet ER, waited to get more testing to check for cancer (which would have cost us almost $800), my dog would have died. My dog didn't have cancer--her blood platelets were very low because of how bad the infection was attacking her immune system. She was very sick, and granted, I understand why someone wouldn't be comfortable performing surgery on her with platelets that low. But what most reputable vet hospitals do is try for a blood/platelet transfusion and go from there. That worked for my very healthy dog (she has had zero health problems) and she survived the surgery. My only wish is that we had taken her to Bel Air immediately. Mistakenly, we thought that going to the Pet ER that was closer would give her a better chance. PLEASE take your dog somewhere else. Read Less

My cat had fluid in his lungs instead of trying to treat him first. Then talk about money. They talk about money first while your animal suffers and if you can't pay they give you 2 options put him to sleep or let him go home and die. I decided to put him to sleep. Wish I had read the reviews before taking him there. Would have taken him out belair. Felt like I could have done more than putting him to sleep. Read Less

Let's face it; nobody wants to ever have to visit this place. Unfortunately, emergencies happen. I had to bring my cat Kid here this summer because of a urinary blockage. I was a nervous wreck when I arrived but felt like the doctors and front desk staff (although very busy) were  helpful and took the time to explain what was happening, what my options were and the risks/benefits of everything. They were able to place a catheter immediately and run fluids, something my vet was unable to do. Unfortunately, each time they removed the catheter and observed him he would reblock again and so after the 3rd obstruction, I had to make some decisions. My cat ended up having to stay here for about 7 days. Most of the vets I came in contact with there were very communicative and had a plan and were able to tell me what could happen, which I really appreciated. (I had brought my cat to my regular vet first who completely failed at that.) Throughout those 7 days I visited my cat every day during my lunch hour and after work and called at least one other time to get an update. One vet tech seemed bothered by my frequent visits but most were pretty nice and friendly. And while I was there someone always took a moment to make sure I was updated on what was happening with my cat and they are always busy so it says a lot that they made this a priority every time. Dr. Meyerhoff was especially thorough and kind and went out of his way to help me understand my options after the last reblocking, which were to put my cat down or to transfer him over to the surgery team to have a very costly operation. I was extremely upset and stressed and I really am thankful he was there that day to explain things to me. The front desk girls were also very kind and patient and even helped me set up a Care Credit account which allowed me 6 months with no interest to pay off the operation. Today, my cat is thankfully doing really well. Overall, it was a really stressful time and I had moments of major frustration, so I can understand why people have some poor reviews. Like I said, the doctors and vet techs are very busy and sometimes you feel like your pet is just sitting there not being watched as much as he/she should be. For example, I had gone to visit and he kept getting tangled in his IV lines nerviously walking around the cage and I voiced my concern. Later that night, he pulled his catheter out from getting tangled in his lines and so I was really upset because I felt they should be prepared to prevent things like that. After that they kept him on a short leash in his cage. Another time, I asked one of the vets over the phone about something related to his care and her response was that she wasn't there yesterday so didn't know. I work in a hospital, you round on the patients in the morning and you get up to speed so that you DO know. If you can't keep up then find a new job. So again, moments of frustration and feeling powerless to help my pet. But at the end of the day, overall I do feel like they care about the animals they treat and are mostly good at what they do. And yes, this place is expensive. It's a critical care facility, you have to expect that. And I will say they are very good at giving you an estimate so you understand how much things will cost before you agree to procedures. Oddly, my regular vet was going to charge me more than they were if I broke down the cost for catherization and 24 hours of care. So my advice for what its worth: Get pet insurance early, only go to a vet that friends/family have referred you to, and try to take preventative measures at home so you and your pet never have to visit the ER. What I saw was more performance than care. Brought in a cat with respiratory distress, initially was handed a clipboard with sign-in/payment stuff, then when I said she was having trouble breathing a carefully choreographed act began: they rushed us back to an exam table where my cat was surrounded by what must have been 5 or 6 techs (this is in a room where I can hear other animals in pain.. who was attending to them?) and a vet. The triage consisted of taking her temp (it was low), a cursory examination (never saw a stethoscope not that you could use one with all the bustling people and howling animals), and finished with the vet saying "we can't tell what's wrong" and then getting my verbal permission for a battery of general diagnostics and stabilization measures. Being an upset cat parent, of course I would agree to anything at that point. They said they would start right away, which was comforting. For Act 2 I was lead into a consultation room where I was confronted with a huge sheet of line items for the stuff the vet mentioned, plus a bunch of other associated costs, all of which were inflated as hell ($80 for a bag of IV fluids not including catheter/work really stands out). The list was obviously not customized to what my cat needed or any specific course of care, and it wasn't an estimate.. they wanted over $1000 in payment on the spot, and had not actually started care as I was lead to believe. I wasn't about to shell out that much when they couldn't even give me any of the possible differential diagnoses for the respiratory distress she was having. Act 3 was really hard, they had me wait and sent the vet back in. She stared at me balefully and told me that she didn't think my cat would make the trip to another vet. I asked her why they couldn't just charge me for the steps to try and stabilize her, and got no response. I demanded my cat back and made the trek to Animal Emergency Hospital in Bel Air. Immediately on check-in and triage at AEH it was apparent that Pet+ER is completely full of crap. Care and stabilization efforts started immediately, there was no crowd of techs, and within 20 minutes I was getting an honest appraisal of the situation from a vet who actually took the time to properly examine my cat and explain the differentials and options. The vet was very up front and honest about the prognosis, which was not good. I was given a flexible estimate with some of the same items as Pet+ER but at far lower prices, and they helped me come up with a reasonable + compassionate course of care. My cat ended up passing away several hours later and as much as that crushes me, I'm happy that she was in the care of people who had her best interests in mind, not just the bottom line and artificial comfort for me. Surrounding a sick and scared cat with a crowd of people to make me feel better/shell out is despicable. Avoid Pet+ER at all costs. Read Less

Took my 12 week old puppy in for vomiting and lethargy late on a Friday night. The staff was nice and they triaged him quickly. It was a bit of a wait to see the doctor, which I thought was odd for so late at night. Since I had so much time to wait, I noticed it could be a little cleaner in the rooms but that's a huge job and I'm sure they do the best they can. The vet was attentive, asked a lot of questions, and was very caring to me and my pup. We left with a few shots to soothe and hydrate him. When I called my vet this morning, I was pleased to find out Pet ER already sent the incident report over to their office. Overall this is a great place. The $95 visit fee is very expensive, but the care was good and the peace of mind was worth it.Read Less

I liked the doctor and all of the people working in the back were great, that being said there were some miscommunications with bulking. They told me it would be $700 if I got him first thing in the morning. I came earlier than first thing in the morning and my bill was $1000. I had to argue with them to get it back to what they had originally told me. It was a he said she said situation, the woman last night told me get there by 11am and the guy told me anytime I picked him up past 8am would add another half day charge. Heed all the 1* reviews.  They are there for a reason.Without going in to all the details:  I have visited Pet ER with various dogs throughout the years.  I've never been exactly happy with my visits, but I never felt as though I should absolutely avoid them until this past week.My dog had been under care and had surgery at a great vet hospital, located, unfortunately, in Rockville, so not the most convenient when one lives in Baltimore City.  When my dog started experiencing extreme and unusual pain one week last night, I was worried and brought him to Pet ER.I could go into how triage never came, or how he couldn't stand so the staff just let him lie by the counter, but I won't.  The vet tech was a bright spot, although she promised a blanket for my dog to lie on and then forgot and I had to chase her down. The vet, however, proved that any good feelings I had about the staff were misplaced.  This very young woman seemed to care nothing for animals, and besides listening to his heart, spent the bulk of her time reading his chart.  She ordered a ton of tests. Since my dog very recently had major surgery and was under care of a local vet, I was certain that he didn't need the $200+ worth of blood work.  I knew he wasn't anemic when she said that it was important to check him for that.  I let them check his blood pressure and give him fluids and that was it.  And, no Pet ER vet, there is absolutely no reason to keep him overnight.  And, to make things even less pleasant, the vet had a cold, so spent her time sniffling and sneezing.  (Think Donald Trump at the debate but worse!)  I'm not sure how vet hospitals work, but I'd guess that Pet ER works on some sort of bonus system with the vets.  I don't know how else to explain the ordering of tests that weren't necessary, and trying to pad the bill.I felt lucky to have gotten out of there with a bill just under $200 than one just under $2000.  Do not let them do tests that you don't think you need.  Pet Owners Beware! NEVER take your animal to this joke of a company. This is the MOST unprofessional, money hungry company we have seen. They worry more about making a profit then the wellness and health of the animals. We took my dog there after he began to throw up and unable to go to the bathroom. They took him in, did a scan and noticed he had a mass in his abdomen. Before they would continue, they needed a "deposit", which totaled out to be $2,100. They finally put the dog on an IV after he sat for awhile in pain, and we left him there over night. They called later that evening and said that it would be $7-8,000 for surgery to open him up, or we could pay $3,300 to do a more in depth ultra sound to better look at the mass. They said to call back the next morning with our decision. We contact them in the morning, at which point the next person we talk to tells us that the ultra sound is actually $750, not the previously incorrect price we were told last evening. We gave them the OK to do the ultra sound so we could get the dog on the path to getting better. We show up an hour later because we were told to come in and talk to the doctor about options. We show up, wait for another hour, at which point someone else comes in to tell us they are taking the dog to do the scan, and now we are not going to be talking to the doctor until after the scan has been done and the report has been typed. Meanwhile, while we are sitting and waiting for the doctor, all the staff is worried about is whether or not we have found the money needed to do the large surgery, rather then getting my dog taken care of first. They also tell us that the surgery can wait until Monday, well today is Saturday. Why would they let the dog wait days in pain when they can do the surgery today and help him. Its because they can charge us that much more for the dog to be taken care of for additional days. At this point we are done with Pet ER, so we call the Animal Hospital in Bel Air, tell them our situation, and they tell us the surgery would in fact be half the cost there and that they can get the dog in right away. We go to pick the dog up after calling to get the final price. We get to Pet ER, and for the FOURTH time, the price for everything has changed. We now owe $750 more then what we were just told an hour ago, after they find out we are taking the dog elsewhere. They would also not bring our dog to us until the bill was paid in pull, at which point they called for his "release". We walk into the Animal Hospital in Bel Air, they take the dog right away, never bother us about money, and start getting our dog taken care of, like a company is supposed to do. Read Less

My 2 year old Pitbull almost died because of this place. AND I SPENT DOUBLE FOR HER TROUBLES! I brought my furbaby in because she was not eating and had a nasty cough. It was a Saturday and her vet was closed. Not only did we spend 8 hours there for the initial visit. They instructed me to come back in 4 hours for another x-ray. The second visit 4 hours later ended up in another 3 hours wasted and another charge for the third x-ray. So a whole day later, 3 x-rays later, and a $1,400 bill later my baby was sent home with no resolution. They diagnosed her with Kennel cough. My vet called first thing Monday morning to check on her. I told her what the Pet+ER said and that she was not getting better. My Vet said bring her in right away something is wrong. I did as instructed and MY FURBABY HAD A BLOCKAGE IN HER STOMACH! THAT WAS CLEARLY NOTICABLE ON A PROPER X-RAY! HER STOMACH WAS TWISTED BY THIS POINT! THIS PLACE CLAIMED TO HAVE TAKEN 3 X-RAYS! THEY CLAIMED SHE HAD A COMMON COUGH (THAT SHE NEVER HAD)!

I hate to say that I was here just because I hate reliving the memory of my pup eating about 3 pounds of chocolate, but I had an ok experience here. They did the right thing but it was a hassle. I now have another 24/hour pet Er. Read Less

Read Less

Terrible place. How bad could it possibly be? How about killing your beloved dog due to negligence and unprofessional conduct. Please stay away and go anywhere else in the are, the only thing we can do now is warn others so this doesn't happen again. Other vets told us our dog did not have to die if she had received proper medical care rather than sending us home saying it's fine. Our beloved dog had to suffer due to our choice to visit this terrible veterinary clinic. And for those who might suspect it's because we were upset about the money, our dog was fully insured, but she died despite visiting this "emergency clinic". Read Less

I just don't understand the positive reviews because our dealings with this place was horrible. Staff was rude, the vet (Friedman)we had could have cared less about our cat and seemed to only be interested in handing us an estimate that was exorbitant. Thankfully we were able to get the cat to our own vet in the morning where she was treated with compassion. I never write reviews but felt that it needs to be known that this is not a good place and if you love your pet don't take it here. I'm pretty convinced the positive reviews are written by Pet ER employees to negate all of the negative reviews. This place should be put out of business, they are so unethical! Disgusting! Read Less

I wouldn't take a goldfish to this place. They are only in it for the money and I honestly don't think they give a hoot about the animals but only care about lining their pockets. They inflate their prices knowing full well that anyone coming to the Pet ER is in dire need of pet care and will more than likely pay to have their fur baby treated. I would love to know what goes on behind those "closed doors", if anything. THEY CLAIMED SHE WOULD BE FINE. MY DOG ENDED UP HAVING EMERGENCY SURGERY ON THAT MONDAY AND HER VET SAID SHE MAY NOT HAVE MADE IT ANOTHER 2 DAYS! I ENDED UP PAYING ANOTHER $1700. HOW DARE YOU PET+ER!
