It’s not often I review places but this office deserves high praise. On what was one of the worst days of our lives the staff here gave us all the options and honest professional opinions and for that I am thankful. They didn’t push us one way or another and gave my husband and I time to digest and make our decision. We lost our girl that day. But not before we were moved to a room to spend as much time as needed with her. I appreciate every member on the team. Just yesterday we received a handwritten sympathy card. Thank you for making our visit not only about the money. Yes the prices are high, it’s an emergency vet office, we expected that going in. But, I’m willing to pay a higher price for the services we received. Read Less

My 4 lb chihuahua was hit by a car, we were in King George Va. at the time, a GOOD 30 minues away, however, they were the ONLY 24 hour hospital that I knew of , I'm sure there's more but at the time I was so panic stricken that I couldn't compose myself enough to think of another. I get my baby there, my dog is in critical condition and by the grace of God one of the techs just happened to be there and she grabbed him from me and ran him to the back. In the meantime, the "receptionist" was no more concerned about the situation than the man in the moon was. They wanted $800 to $1000 JUST TO X-RAY,and that was only to determine IF he could be saved or not, and that HAD to be paid BEFORE the procedure could be done. We had a VERY SWEET little girl that was his tech, the ONLY COMPASSIONATE ONE IN THE WHOLE PLACE I MIGHT ADD, Anyway, they wanted me to leave him as he was in critical condition upon the physical exam, I guess you've probably figured out by now that I was COMPLETELY broke so instead of helping a person that TRULY LOVES THEIR PET, they sent me on my way with a pain shot, pain pills, antibiotics and a prayer, AFTER CHARGING ME $300. IF I EVER FIND ANOTHER 24 HOUR VET, I WILL SURELY GO THERE. THIS PLACE IS "COMPLETELY AND SOLELY ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR, AND YOU BEST HAVE A GREAT DEAL OF THAT DOLLAR TO TAKE A MEMBER OF YOUR FAMILY THERE IN A DESPERATELY CRITICAL TIME OF NEED. Well the good news they can kinda of sort of help simply because they are a 24/7 hospital. My dog ate some weird plant (I brought it in) they had no idea how to treat him or what the plant was. I had to pay 60$ to call some BS help line that had no idea what the plant was. So right there I'm out 200$ it took them 45 minutes to see something was super wrong with my dog because he started vomiting a lot of chunky blood. They didn't give him anything to help and no one stayed with us to ensure my dogs health. When he started getting worse I had to run into the "no costumers past this point sign to grab someone and they just watched him throw up blood...again not trying to give him anything nor where they willing to help until I called and paid this random help line 60$ absolute rip off. Do not come here if it can be avoided.Read Less

very impressed with this place as compared to 11 years ago when I had an emergency with a cat of mine. This go round, the place is totally redone and really quite pleasing to the eye. (not before) At 8:30 on a Sunday night, the staff from the greeting to the techs and the Dr. on call, everyone was so wonderful and took the stress out of my visit with Gracie, my cat, and we even drove all the from Lexington Park. Wonderful place, period. If I didn't live so far away, I would use this facility for my primary vets. Great job!!! Read Less

Brought in my cat this morning after she vomited three times, and had diarrhea twice in less than an hour. This also made me nervous considering that she lost so much fluid, and is nursing her kittens who are less than 2 weeks old. When I told the staff at VCA that my cat was nursing 5 kittens they did everything they could to see her so she could get home as soon as possible. I am very pleased with all of the staff, their professionalism, and how they treated my cat. I would recommend them to anyone who needs to bring their animal in for an emergency. Read Less

Dr. Ahmad misdiagnosed my dog due to laziness. My dog almost died because he diagnosed her with acute pancreatitis, when in reality she had a bowel obstruction. He diagnosed her based on one lab value which is not inclusive. The x-ray showed significant amount of gas (which is a sign of an obstruction) along with a spot which he said he didn't know what it was. The pancreas showed no signs of swelling. We would have willingly paid for ultrasounds, or any other tests but he was too busy playing on his phone to care for our animal. He also estimated it would take an hour. We were there from 9 pm until 1:30 am. His discharge instructions included feeding her, and following up with my vet in 10 days. Feeding her made it worse and complicated the surgery, and if we would have waited 10 days, she would have died. At the point of discharge, I asked the vet tech about pain medication for my dog. She agreed that it was a normal treatment and went to ask the doctor. She came back and said that the doctor said if we wanted pain medication, we would have to come back tomorrow. I wouldn't take my worst enemy here. $1,000 for them to almost kill my dog. We followed our gut and took her to another emergency clinic, where she was rushed to emergency surgery. The only good thing I have to say about this place was the vet techs and receptionist were very pleasant. Do not take your animal here. It is not worth it!! Read Less

They just saw my cat who was sick. I am glad to know there is a place I can take a pet any time 24/7. It IS expensive, and some of the prices do seem pretty high, but the care is 100% the best. We were offered coffee, and treated warmly. The facilities are clean and comfortable. Every cost was explained to us before hand, and we could have turned down any part of it. But, knowing what my cat needed, and that, although expensive, it was necessary, we went ahead. I'm certain my cat will recover quickly. So, I think the price is high; but I think it helps pay for the fact they they operate 24/7. Paid $400 for what would probably $250 at the regular vet. The convenience, individual attention and the good care we got at 10pm, was worth it to us. I had plans for that money, but if I were the cat I'd say, "Pay the damn money - I'm a princess and I'm worth it." lol I would take her, or my other cats there again in an emergency. Read Less
