I've taken Miss Cheyenne from Siam here, since I met her and needed a vet. I've been very happy with the care she has received. I have rare health problems and I can vouch for the fact that my cat receives better and more conscientious primary care here than I do. The staff really does understand cats--including those who are just plain pissed off that they have to get medical care. They really do understand ferals, too.
I am grateful for Dr Palmer, for she gave me the tools needed to solve the fact that I had a very itchy cat. In evaluating my itchy cat, she discussed all the possibilities and, together came up with a plan. I put my cat on a food allergy / elimination diet and we discovered that my cat is allergic to fish, chicken and possibly duck (we're not completely sure about this one, for she had an allergic reaction that coincided with a heartworm preventative). My cat hates beef. My cat can eat lamb, rabbit, pork or venison. If this didn't work, we agreed that I would take her to see a dermatologist at Tufts. Diet matters, for my cat has diabetes in remission. Simply put, I no longer have an itchy cat. Dr Palmer knows Dr Lisa Pierson, a renowned feline diabetes and nutrition expert who revolutionized the treatment of feline diabetes. So if you have a diabetic cat (even one in remission) this is the vet for you.
Vet care is not cheap and there are cheaper practices around (but they're generally not cat only practices). However, there are ways to make quality vet care affordable. This practice offers a monthly membership plan, that covers pretty much all of your cat's routine medical care (except for heartworm preventative). If you like this practice, buy the membership and save. Read Less
