My Big Black Lab has an issue with a) being extremely overweight b) been limping on right front leg for over 4 years c) front toes in both front paws are deformed and grew sideways.  He is in constant pain, just breaks my heart.  FINALLY A vet Dr Smolka gave me an instant diagnosis for his 4 year long  limp , his ACL is swollen and getting a ready to blow out.  Now why didn't any if the OTHER vets know that?????   He had been seen by at least three others from there.  She also took the time to evaluate and call me immediately after she figured out a diet plan for him, so he doesn't blow his ACL.  He was up to 158 pounds, he now is at 134. So progress is being made.  She is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER, IM ACTUALLY CHANGING MY OTHER DOG TIKI TO HER, HE HAS ISSUES, HE WAS SEVERELY ABUSED.  SHE SAID SHE WOULD LIVE TO MEET HIM   . SHE IS AWESOME Read Less

I have been going to Attleboro Veterinary Clinic for the past 11 years and never once have I had a bad, or even a not-so-good experience.  The entire staff is caring and thoughtful and willing to help in any way they can.  Unfortunately, I have had 4 cats die in those 11 years due to age-related conditions and each time EVERYONE there was just as upset as me.  They feel like family.  I will never find another vet, I'm a client for life - mine and my animals. To the previous vet: We wish that you may forget quickly the tremendous faux pas you had chosen on Monday, October 1st 2018. A major breach of trust, and offense beyond words. People who have heard my story could simply not believe since this was so much unlike the way your are known as a very kind, caring vet. We are so very sorry about you - as much as we were deeply hurt by your course of action Monday evening. Your current and future patients with their owners will pay the way to sustain your office and your professional career. Please forget quickly that sweet, innocent, terminally ill white German shepherd of mine who you in a cruel act left stranded between heaven and earth. We wish that you clear your conscience and carry on as the excellent vet we had known. Having been our chosen vet for beagles Arcas, Boris, Sonya, and Bruce-Eric, for Golden Retriever Marius, for Great Dane Trice, and for German shepherds Hendrick, Harley, Tanya, Kailey, and Marius. Some of these dogs belong to the time when my husband still lived - as we were grandfathered into your office through our wonderful, original vet, who built your office and brought your initial customers before he retired. We always held trust in you. We wish that current and future customers will perceive you as trustworthy and we ask only one thing: Please do not ever let this happen to any of your patients. In my home country a vet like you would have been voted out of office. Throw your customers away Dr. Siegel. My white German shepherd Marius only 7 years old and was supposed to be put asleep on 10/1 upon your recommendation regarding the status of his cancer diagnosis of 9/27. You chose to be cruel to my dog Marius - he turned under your care from 9/5/ to 9/27 to a skeleton. We received the cancer diagnosis not earlier than 9/27 when he had gotten far too weak. You recommended to put him asleep now that he had become a skeleton under your care. You recommended 7:45 pm for Marius to be put asleep on Oct 1st. Your office closes at 8:00 pm. You acted cruel to my dog Marius as you had no time, no space, nor was anything prepared for my dog Marius to peacefully cross the rainbow bridge. You acted totally unethical and you damaged your reputation, Dr Siegel. I was asked to wait outside in my car for you had other "better" patients to be seen first, but staff would come to my car to let us know when you would became available. It was nearly half hour past your office closing time already. Nobody came out to my car. When I was home you called and quit services. Throw away your customer after 16 years, quit services on a 7 year old dog who had turned to a skeleton within 3 weeks under your care. You damaged your reputation greatly with your cruel act on Oct 1st.        We feel sorry for you - and we will never forget !!! Read Less

Dr. Jenny Mateleska and the entire staff at the Attleboro Vet clinic have been compassionate and helpful over the last couple of years in caring for our cats, one of which had a terminal illness. Several months ago I rescued a young stray cat living in my neighborhood and it came as a big surprise that this kitty was pregnant. I've brought my two pugs to Attleboro Veterinary Clinic numerous times over the past two and a half years, and we always have a good experience with them. It's aways pretty easy to get an appointment without waiting too long -- they have plenty of staff on hand. The staff, from the front desk to the vet techs, are always wonderful. The vet techs give my nervous dogs plenty of hugs and kisses and treats to keep them at ease. We've seen several vets, but mostly Dr. Harrington, and he's always great. Easy to talk to and doesn't rush you at all. A few tips: - there is plenty of parking in the back. - bring some poop bags to walk your dogs in the back or front yard before going in. - the front desk will price match your medications and purchases you find online, so keep your phone handy! Had wanted to go to a vet the dogs had been seeing for a while but they are constantly busy and couldn't see my two dogs for two days and conveyed to me to go to Tufts. 1. Anyone that knows about Tufts knows just to walk in the door you're paying an arm and a leg not to mention their medical course of action. 2. Not to mention some of the doctors aren't particularly friendly there. I called this morning to this vet as its actually close to where we live and they could see both small dogs right away. They gave me a 5:15 appointment and knew I was concerned with two dogs whom are both toy Yorkies that I can't be wasting time in regards to when I think my animals will drink. They are very small dogs that can dehydrate faster than larger breeds.Everyone at the front desk that I interacted with was very helpful and very kind. I didn't see any issues there at all.The doctor, Dr. Holmes was very kind as well. She explained that canine influenza is going around and our Yorkie that just turned 2 she was more concerned about because of her age and not having more of a built up immune system like our older dog. They both had fevers - the younger was at the verge of having to go to the ER because she was at 104.5 and highest they can go is 105. Our older was a little over 103. They don't go anywhere except grooming and our yard - so she explained it could have been picked up there at the groomer where other dogs are. They were put on antibiotics (Flagyl) is the brand name. They were both given shots of an anti nausea med, and subcutaneous fluids for dehydration. One of the older ladies whom was extremely helpful that was putting me in the system gave me the names of two other ERs that might be cheaper than Tufts if we had an emergency. And she helped with getting me the bland food I needed. I'm happy to report after almost two days of not eating the youngest ate right after we brought them home and drank some water. The older was eating but had GI issues. Very impressed with this office on the first visit. Not to mention the doctor did take a look at two issues that the groomer and cardiologist weren't sure with our older one was a lump. She could not find the lump the groomer found and she was palpitating her abdomen well. And the upper area was soft tissue that she agreed wasn't a concern as the cardiologist had thought. The techs were extremely helpful too in keeping the dogs as calm as they could. Read Less

I use this vet for the past 6 years. I have a very healthy dog.  I feed Him really good food and keep Him on his heart worm all year. Also his flee and tick drops are all year long too.  I have loss my husband suddenly who was a local business owner.  this office knows this.  And with out my husbands income I struggle to make sure my family is well taking care of.  This includes the dog who is part of our family. I received a notice that my dog was due for a yearly lyme and DHPP.  So I called the office and asked just for a tec appointment to get those 2 vaccines. I can not pay anther $210.00 that I paid last year for his check up.   They told me no that they had to give him the physical if I wanted the shots.   My dog is very healthy I know how much he weighs. I listen to his lungs and they are clear and his heart dose not have any murmurs.  My uncle is a small animal vet in up state Maine. When he comes  down He always says that I keep my dog in great shape. Too bad he's 7 hours away.  So now I'm forced to find a clinic that will only give his shots. Thanks for not helping a girl when she is down. My dog is now with out his 2 shots but I was able to pay my mortgage. That  is  more important than my heathy dog having a physical.  But I will find a clinic to get his shots. I am sure someone will have a heart and help me out.   Thanks for Nothing. Read Less

We've been bringing our two dogs here for almost 3 years. Last summer, we noticed the 4 year old lab's shoulder seemed swollen, so we took her in, thinking it was a running injury. Long story short, she had an aggressive, rare cancer that ended up needing to be treated by removal of the entire front leg. Through the whole process, we probably saw every vet in the office plus their surgeon, butbhad great experiences with all of them. They were truly invested in seeing the dog recover and took our concerns about her being unable to run again seriously. They helped us make that hard decision and patiently described our options. After the surgery, the office staff called several times to check up on her and was always easy to work with to get an appointment. Read Less

This is absolutely the BEST veterinary clinic I have ever been to. The staff and doctor's are extremely nice and helpful. They greet you when you walk in, and take the time to get to know you. I have experienced several vets over the years, that were just concerned with getting their money and running unnecessary tests. Here at Attleboro, that is not the case. They work with you and your budget. They treat your pet like their own, and take the time to help you make the right decisions for your pet. Dr. Russ was amazing. He spent quality time with me and my dog to ensure he was giving the right suggestions and care. You can tell he and his staff love what they do, and want what is best for you and your pet. I took my puppy to the Attleboro clinic and it was the best decision I have made. My 8 month old mixed pup was in obvious pain but I had no idea what hurt or why. When I took him to my local vet that we had brought all our dogs to for years he ignored my concerns and told me he was fine, this happened twice. I knew something was off with him and decided to take him somewhere else in hopes of getting actual help. The very first visit I told them my concerns and that I really needed someone to listen to me and they did! Dr. Mateleska took my concerns very seriously and agreed something was not right with my pup. Because of her and the staff we now figured out my dog has an extra vertebrae which is pinching nerves in his back causing pain. They have since referred me to a specialist and have been helping every step of the way. If it wasn't for them I don't know if I would be getting my puppy the help he needs. My 5 year old Golden Retriever, Bella Birch, was seen at 9am on Thursday 3/3/16 by Dr. Harrington and an assistant. They were kind, methodical and very thorough in their exam. They have a wonderful bedside manner and they were excellent with my girl. She did a good job tolerating the exam. They diagnosed Bella with an intestinal infection and possibly a torn right ACL. She will be ok. Medication was prescribed along with a special diet. The torn ACL is to be monitored for a time. I was not pressured into making any decisions and the staff were very sensitive to my financial situation and to Bella's as well. Return appt. to be made for 2 weeks from now. I would highly recommend this Vet Clinic. Numerous animals arrived for treatment/exam while we were there. This review would get 5 stars if it were only based on them. The office reception staff however.....ugh. From the moment we walked in I felt ignored. I found them to be rude, loud, gossipy. When we were checking out it was the same. We were treated like it was an inconvenience for them to help us, and there were several people working in that area. I do want to say again though the doctor and assistant were great, the reception area could use some work.Update (that I should have a while ago): I was contacted by the owner of the clinic who listened to what I had to say, apologized for the staff's behavior and said it would be addressed. We have been taking our dog to Attleboro Vet for all of his 9 years. Attleboro Vet also took care of my previous pet as well. They doctors and staff have always been professional and take the time to explain everything regarding our pet to us. We had an incident where our dog decided that an SOS pad and chicken bones were a good thing to eat (He somehow got past the cabinet door into the garbage). We were concerned that he would have digestive issues and become very sick. We called the office and we were to bring him in immediately to see Dr. Siegel even though the office was about to close. We are grateful that Dr. Siegel was able to see our dog and take care of the problem immediately. If Dr. Siegel was unable to see him he definitely would have needed emergency surgery based on what he threw up. Dr. Siegel saved his life! Read Less

Read Less

She will be ok. Medication was prescribed along with a special diet. The torn ACL is to be monitored for a time. I was not pressured into making any decisions and the staff were very sensitive to my financial situation and to Bella's as well. Return appt. to be made for 2 weeks from now. They doctors and staff have always been professional and take the time to explain everything regarding our pet to us.
