Everyone was wonderful, from Connor who scheduled the appointment, to the young man who greeted us as we entered, to (of course) Jocelyn, the behaviorist. She took so much time, was so patient and kind and knowledgeable, and left us with many strategies and an excellent overall assessment & plan. Lots of room for us to wait, no need for dogs to be close together; lots of time and attention during the appointment; prompt follow up to phone calls via email. Everything exceptionally professional & thoughtful, and calming (for the nervous dog parent!). Read Less

From the start to the end the process of the visit was very smooth - we had an appointment so we waited about 5 minutes. The visit with the doctor was not rushed at all, he answered all my questions and took the time to explain the process we were going to follow to determine the diagnosis. The hospital was clean, the waiting area is spacious and the interaction with other dogs can be easily minimized. The doctors office was equally clean and comfortable. Overall the experience was very positive. Read Less

We have been going to Angell for a very long time. Dr. Kaye is great with our animals and very patient with our very nervous dog. His vet tech (I'm sorry I do not remember her name) also was great and gentle with our animals making it a painless experience for us. I feel like I am getting world class care and all the staff is friendly and genuinely cares about animals. Our cat was very sick a couple years back and Angell offered to do a surgery that they had never done before at Angell (subcutaneous ureteral bypass). I appreciated that they were willing to try anything to save my pet! Several years later, he's happy and healthy! Read Less

Saved my birds life a few years ago. My ex left my little winged love unattended and she got into a Ding Dong. I drove home from work, grabbed my bird , and strait to the world's best Vets. They performed emergency Charcoal Poison Treatment and saved her from an early grave. I was absolutely distraught and they let me know she was in very good hands. A few hours later, we were on our way home with a recovering Avian. Fast forward to today, My bird and I are doing great, and we still go here for our annual wellness checks. I regret taking my 17 year old dog to Angell Animal Medical Center. Do NOT take your pet here if you want compassionate geriatric care. Dr. Johnson took care of our elderly dog and admitted her to their ICU for IV fluids and an antibiotic. When we decided to take our frightened dog home - she objected. She told use that if we brought her home then her treatment would be considered a "failure." She even had us sign a "leaving against medical advice" form! Taking an elderly dog who cannot see or hear out of her cage and back home is NOT contrary to good care. How dare she suggest such a thing? She defined "treatment failure" by her own standards. That is poor care. Read Less

Want the best for your pet? Take them to Angell. They offer primary veterinary care, 24/7 emergency services, a full-service veterinary pharmacy, and specialists of every stripe. We've taken our pets to Angell for years. It gives us great peace of mind to know that whatever medical problem one of our pets might face, there is a specialist and state-of-the-art facilities right down the hall. Angell goes out of their way to make clients comfortable, with ample free parking; separate waiting areas for dogs, cats, and exotics; free coffee; and a vending area with tables and chairs. We love Angell. We cant imagine our pets' lives without them. Read Less

My husband and I took our 6 year old yellow lab mix to Angell. She had a very small bump on her belly. Our vet did a biopsy and it came back as cancer. My husband researched and found that Angell would be the best place to take our Kimber. We made an appointment and got right in with Dr. Talbott. Dr Talbott was so thorough and so very kind to us and to Kimber. Surgery was scheduled for the following week. Dr Pavletic preformed the surgery. Between both Drs, they were able to get all the cancer. We are so grateful for the treatment and care Kimber received. My husband and I would highly recommend this hospital and their specialist to everyone. We live about an hour away from Angell. We are now in the process of switching our pups to Angell for our wellness Vet too. It's so worth the drive. The prices are great and the treatment and professionalism is outstanding.Read Less

Angell Animal Medical Center provides pets with excellent care and expertise, especially through difficult situations. We saw a great team and our vet was able to coordinate blood/urinalysis with the pathologist and oncologist in order to offer us all options. We took our ill cat, Gimli, in for emergency care on Christmas morning. From the start, even though it was a holiday, we were given excellent service from all employees. After we saw the initial vet who completed an exam, blood work and urinalysis, we took our cat home with some medication to increase his appetite. We got a returned phone call within hours with some initial findings. While waiting for more results, Gimli declined and we took him bacl to emergency, at which time he was hospitalized. While in the hospital, I got several text messages and a picture of my boy, which helped put my worried mind more at ease. Sadly, his diagnosis was cancer with little time remaining. Our excellent vet, Dr. McClain, let us take him home overnight and watch him and give him lots of love and attention. Sadly, the following day he was declining quickly and we knew we needed to make the heartbreaking choice to say goodbye. When I called Dr. McClain to say we thought it was time, she gave me all the options available. I felt it would be most comfortable for us to be with him and have her perform the euthanasia. She was very kind to us, giving us lots of time to say goodbye and was very respectful. Additionally, she stayed after her shift just to be with us. I also discovered after Gimli's passing, Angell called his local vet and informed them what happened, easing us of that difficult conversation. I can not recommend ANGELL more highly for your pet needs. As the owner of a Brookline, MA-based pet service business, from this time on only recommend pets go to Angell for their care.Read Less

Our Buddy is a 17 year old, Lhasa Apso. Due to his advanced age, we had been hesitant to pursue surgery for a couple of fatty tumors that had been growing on his head and face. Unfortunately, the tumors growth and ulceration led to us having no choice other than to have them removed. We met with Dr. Pavletic who I saw the head of surgery at Angell. He sized up the situation, shared our concerns related to anesthesia and how it would effect our old boy and confidently proceeded with a course of action that had our Buddy in and out of surgery without any issues. I felt like instead of telling me what should be done to my dog that had 106F fever, they were more focused in selling me packages including what could be done. I asked multiple times what was necessary and the answer always sounded like a furniture or car seller, giving me deals and things I did not need at that moment. Spent $600 (they wanted the dog to stay overnight so they could check his temperature during the night and it would be $1600. I said I preferred testing his temperature myself) for a blood test and medication and they do not even give me the test results. After the dog finished testing, an intern brought him back to me. She didn't know any of my questions (things like "what medicine did he take? What should I do?) and the doctor never came back to talk to us and give any explanation. I've been calling for a week to obtain test results and now they suggested that I email to obtain the results of what the dog actually has. I felt a lack in professionalism. Read Less

The Angell Animal Medical Center is truly incredible. The second you walk into the building you can sense it is so much more than the usual veterinarian office. My cat is usually so anxious when she visits the doctor, showing teeth, hissing etc. From the moment we walked into the building with Trixie and her carrier through her entire visit with the staff and the doctor she was calm and clearly very comfortable being there. Dr. Duddy who will be treating Trixie took the time to explain the procedure to me, took the time to not only get to know Trixie but to let Trixie get to know her. I cannot say enough good things about my recent experience with Angell in Boston. My 3 year old Maltese Gia was in horrible neck pain two weeks ago and I took her to the emergency room. Initially she was diagnosed with a slipped disc and given pain meds. When the pain was getting increasingly worse despite the meds I took her back the following Saturday. She had to be admitted to the hospital for an MRI and other tests. She didn't return home until this Thursday, and throughout the entire process I received at least two calls a day to update me on her progress, current meds, etc, and a text message every morning with a picture of her. During visiting hours, at least two techs stopped by to chat every time. When she finally started to show improvement, so many people stopped by to say how happy they were to see her doing better. Despite the fact that they must see all levels of suffering everyday, they were all clearly invested in my dog's recovery, and holding her when she was crying in pain. It was a terrifying time, and beyond the medical expertise, Angell's staff made it so much easier to handle. Thank you thank you thank you.Read Less

Other than the 3 hour wait, was a wonderful experience. Brought my cat in at 10:20pm last night they took him right back got him stable. I waited for 3 hours to hear anything but the triage doctor was great and dr soohoo who I met with around 130am was so sweet and understanding and explained everything to me. I left him over night and she called me back around noon today and explained everything to me. I picked Luca up around 4 pm today and I ended up getting a decent amount of the deposit I paid put back on my card. Very honest staff and took wonderful care of my Luca! I will be looking into seeing if they have primary care vet practice because I have 3 cats, the eldest has heart issues and my current vet is not great at communicating anything And I feel like they just over charge me but don't ever follow up and they've messed up meds. The wait was long. It took about an hour and a half to just be seen which seems excessive. The doctor that saw my cat was nice and attentive. My cat can be very troublesome with new people and she was patient and nice. My cat did need to be sedated for the doctor to do her work. The costs were pretty high for the treatment. I could see this being prohibitive if my cat had another emergency soon. Once my cat was released I was given instructions for the medication but I wasn't told how long the cone would have to be on his neck. I also ran out of antibiotics shy of the full 10 days. I called Angell and my cat's doctor eventually called me back, so it was nice to hear from her. She said having done 8 days of antibiotics, he should be fine, they usually do 7-10 days, but I feel like I should have been given enough for a few days extra for the inevitable case where my cat spit out a dose (which happened) and when I spilled at least part of one dose (also happened). Overall I am mostly pleased with the care my cat received and I appreciate the hospital being open and available in the middle of the night as was needed in this case. Thank you! Read Less

Read Less

Both Dr. Noonan and his techs made us feel so comfortable and reassured... and the same for our baby! He was so happy and comfortable with everyone that he flopped down on the floor in the middle of the room to relax. I have been holding off because I hadn't found anyone I trusted enough to do the procedure but we have definitely found the place for us! Read Less

Deb and Dr. Staudenmaier came across as clearly loving their avian and exotic patients. My guinea pigs have never had such careful, comprehensive exams from such expert, gentle people. I also love the patient and experienced ways she and Deb handled them. My guinea pigs find exams stressful, but they actually seemed relatively at ease.

Anyway great job angell :)Read Less

Thank you! Read Less
