The Animal House in Buzzards Bay, MA is a companion animal hospital serving Bourne, Wareham and surrounding areas. It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your pet. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease, as well as medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime. Our facility has state of the art digital x-ray machine and laboratory equipment in-house.
We understand the special role your pet plays in your family and are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet's health care. We treat your pet as we would our own. For over 15 years and still, Dr Lappin and his staff have taken care of my Bichon at very reasonable cost and with the most consideration for my feelings and love for my pet. I trust him with my dog's life. Dr L has operated on my best little friend who had always come through healthy and happy. Dr. Lappin doesn't charge me for extra visits on the same thing... Plus he is very very reasonably priced for office visits and medicines. He's not greedy. I've experienced greedy doctors and it's a bad feeling. He really cares about me and my pet.

Animal house claims to be a place to bring your pet when they need care. Well I brought my little yorkie there because she was sick and pooped a little mucus. Me being a nurse was worried and drove her there which now was a hour away because I moved but this was the only place she had ever been. I wasn't even there 5 mins and the refuse to care for my little dog. I was given a card and told to go to cape cod hospital and they did not have equipment to care for her! I was speechless. Not to mention in tears as I held my dog feeling that she was very hot. I will never bring another pet to this place and now no one I know will either. I can't see having a vet that doesn't even touch and check take a close look ANYTHING! If you love you pet like I do you should find anything place to go just in case your pet ever gets sick. Oh yeah I took her right to a vet on Taunton and they took her right away come to find out it was just something gastro, she got some fluids couple shots and some pills for home. I agree that the person with the flea issue has mixed up locations. There are no rugs at Animal House. I have taken my dogs and cats there for many years. Dr. Lappin is kind and considerate as is the staff. Prices are more reasonable than just about anywhere. It's true that sometimes you have to wait for an appointment or go to the ER, but that's because they're busy. I imagine if they had an emergency staff on call, the reasonable rates would disappear. I called for my dog today and got her in two hours later because there had been a cancellation.
Visiting Dr. Lappin is like going to a General Practitioner, not a specialist. But in my experience he knows his limitations and isn't afraid to say that something is beyond his expertise and recommend someone more skilled with whatever issue is presented. You won't get the latest technology or unmatched expertise, but neither will you pay as if you were getting those things. You will get good solid care, a clean and caring environment, and a skilled, humble veterinarian who will refer you someplace else when he is stumped.

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Lappin for years and he is very kind to my pets. He knows his stuff, knew right off what was wrong with one of our kittens eyes. He prescribed a med that cleared it right up. He's gentle and thorough and I have NEVER had flea issues at his office. The office is clean and my pets and I have always been treated with kindness and respect. And his staff are also very approachable. So who ever wrote that the office has flea infestation was most likely confusing The Animal House with some other place or is a competitor and trying to get more business for his or her office. I don't know what we will do if he ever retires, trust is not easily gained but he has gained our trust and our gratitude for his excellent work. And yes he does have something set up for animals who need immediate care, just ask...

For over 15 years and still, Dr Lappin and his staff have taken care of my Bichon at very reasonable cost and with the most consideration for my feelings and love for my pet. Animal house claims to be a place to bring your pet when they need care. Well I brought my little yorkie there because she was sick and pooped a little mucus. Me being a nurse was worried and drove her there which now was a hour away because I moved but this was the only place she had ever been.
