I chose to bring my dog here because it's one of only a few practices in New England with board certified veterinary dental specialists. Plus, they're accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. My old man Cuba was seen yesterday to repair an oronasal fistula that he had. While there, they discovered a lot of other hidden dental issues and fixed those as well. Dr. Carle was wonderful. Very sweet and thorough. I was updated several times throughout the day about Cuba's status. I had to drive from an 1.5 hours away so I hung out in their lounge all day. Very comfortable little space and it made the wait more enjoyable. They had a beautiful, modern facility and professional staff. It was a long day but I'm excited to see how Cuba does once he's all healed up. I have high hopes that he'll be feeling a lot better soon! Read Less

5 month old golden retriever retained baby tooth extraction on Feb. 24, 2017. Invoice: 429339 I didn€t want to take any risks having my dog 5 month-old Golden Retriever's retained baby tooth extracted. So, I chose Veterinary Dental Services €few and far between€ specialty practice and a one day event given the facility is 52 miles from home. I trusted in reasonable fees - given a policy of no fee quoted prior to in-person consult. In hindsight, I was setting myself up for unnecessary expense and a full day away from work. COST: $1614.37. By comparison: a local vet quoted me $800 and Boston dentist $1k-$1,200 for a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown. Pet Insurance is no relief: Embrace Pet insurance covered a total of $60 (paying $390 for a wellness policy). Wow € that€s an awesome fee for pulling a baby tooth from my pup. SERVICE EXPERIENCE: I was asked to arrive at 8:45 a.m. sharp (left my home at 6:30 a.m. to make it) to find there was another procedure scheduled before hers. My pup was kenneled until early afternoon and I lost a full day€s work for the 12 minute actual extraction procedure. Surely a 3 hour window for my pups care would have sufficed. My bad for not insisting on a range of service fees for the procedure. I ended up paying an unreasonably high bill for services other professional vets offered closer to home at a reasonable price. I have a cat in their care now for over a year due to chronic stomatitis issues, and Dr. Shope has been wonderful and very helpful. We tried two different medications, and with the second one my cat is pain-free now and her stomatitis is under control, hopefully long-term. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get quality dental care for their pets, and specifically on difficult chronic conditions such as stomatitis. The staff is very friendly and professional and kind to my nervous cat, and the new office is great and easy to access from the highway.Read Less
