I have been here on several occasions for a couple of different issues and I've only ever had great experiences. Dr. Rahilly and her team saved my previous dog's life and gave me 9 more months with him. I will always be grateful for that!! When it was time to say goodbye, I very much appreciated the ER vet whom showed he and I the utmost compassion on what was easily the worst day of my life. More recently, Dr. Beaver performed an orthopedic procedure on my new puppy and he did a great job. He was able to diagnose my dog's condition off of radiographs, which saved me $, as usually his condition is not diagnosed without a CT scan. In the days after his surgery I called with a million concerns and questions, and my calls were always returned promptly. All of this being said, it is not cheap. I have used other E Vet clinics that are less expensive, but I was not happy with the diagnostics or the customer service and I left wishing I'd made the longer drive to CCVS. Read Less

I cannot say enough about the staff here. Our mini schnauzer had complications from a tumor removal and we had to rush her here on a Saturday night. She ended up almost losing her limb (which would have been extremely difficult for a 12 year old dog) but with their expert care she has recovered just fine. Yes, they are expensive, but for the level of care that they provide and the level of sickness that most of their clients come in with, it shouldn't really be a surprise that it's not going to be a cheap visit or stay. I'm extremely grateful that there's a facility in this area that can handle difficult cases and employs a wide range of specialists. All of the staff seemed to genuinely care about our dog and were as accommodating as possible with my frequent visits to see her and my calls to check on her. This is the kind of facility that you hope you never need, but if you do, you are beyond appreciative that they are there. Read Less

I brought my dog in twice for not eating and being lethargic. I was asked to keep spending money to do all sorts of X-ray and blood work. I brought in a stool sample and they refused to process it. I brought my dog to her regular vet and they processed the stool sample for $30 dollars and diagnosed her with a very simple stomach bug antibiotics could treat. Two doctors here looked at my dog twice and charged me thousands with no answers. An answer my vet tech gave me in 15 min. I called very upset and I was treated awful. I am so sorry to say that not only was my medical attention unacceptable I was treated poorly as well. Read Less

Here's the bottom line.  After having a very old dog hwo didn't eat for 4 days, and had liver failure, pneumonia, multiple lung tumors, etc.... (you know the deal) and unable to breathe, our vet suggested we take a day to bring him to a more capable 24 hr facility to let the antibiotics take their course for one more day.  After taking our dog there, laboring to breathe, we put him in an O2 tent at this place and he was obviously a lot more comfortable.  After no progress after 2 days (we paid for the first day as a whole day despite bringing him in at 9:30 PM) we decided to take him home for the end.  A Vet called and actually told my wife that they thought squeezing another few days and another antibiotic type (I mean squeeze another few thousand dollars out of us) was worthwhile.  I don't know why any clear-headed Vet would lie like that, he was already on broad-spectrum antibiotics for 2 days with no change.  Our regular Vet said that even if the pneumonia was fixed, his liver failure and tumors showed he was (I hate to say it) done. My wife asked the key question - "If we do this, do you think he can completely recover?"  "Yes" lied the Vet at Cape Cod Vet Specialists.  I almost believed it myself - at least I wanted to - but at this point we all knew this dog was not going to spring-back - no way. My wife took it hook-line-sinker and despite my misgivings after talking to our normal vet, I immediately took the many thousands of dollars of cost over the uncertainty-of-outcome for our dog that would have haunted her had we taken him home that day. I don't need to drag this out - obviously the condition changed not at all - not even a little - Cape Cod Vet Specialists got their 2 extra days of value out of us on top of the two other days (that wasn't really two days) they already had - and the end came as you would expect for our dog given all of the complicating conditions.  You need to know I am a multi-millionaire and was not hurt by the cost.  This is not "sour grapes over cost". Be clear on this however - these are people that prey upon others at their most vulnerable.  They are dishonest, lie, and do everything they can to extract every dollar they can for their own benefit -  to capitalize on a hopeless animal who is suffering.  They don't care.  You have to understand the evilness of people who would use ailing and hopeless animals to that end, despite how easy it is to do.  They should be in jail. They are con-artists.  Don't take your beloved animal there.  They are pure evil. Read Less

Took my 11year old cat in for what appeared to me to be a misaligned jaw due to trauma, or a jaw abscess etc.  I was expecting an X-ray to assess jaw damage and either "yes we can fix this" or " no we can't" at which time decisions would need to be made.  All of his labs were normal except an elevated WBC.  Every time the vet came out with an "update" it contained no clinical information to be used in decision making, instead it was accompanied by a higher estimated bill.  Their estimated bill of almost $7000 included a whole body CT scan, unrelated labs (like a thyroid level for example) to determine if he had any conditions that would preclude possible surgery.  They never addressed the critical issue for which he presented.  They never X-ray'd his jaw.  They just kept coming back with more expensive diagnostic suggestions after discussing with "senior vets by phone."  We passed on their suggested work up and took him home with antibiotics and pain meds to see how he does.  I feel like they never addressed the critical issue we came in for, and instead inflated the bill with unnecessary diagnostics.  The cat is eating puréed food, taking antibiotics and pain meds ( which I requested) and I will take him to our regular vet Tuesday for a realistic discussion of our options. Meanwhile the cat is eating and drinking, and clearly didn't need to stay in their ICU with IVs and a feeding tube ( at $450 a day) as they suggested.  They are mercenaries.  They actually itemized $37 for a blood pressure check...which if you ask me should be included in the emergency room exam fee.  Then they billed a glucose and a hematocrit separately, the glucose is included in the chemistry panel they drew, and the Hct is included in the CBC they drew.  Double dip much?  Of course if I wasn't a nurse I never would have known they billed twice for the same labs.9/4/18 UPDATE. Took my cat to our vet Capeway Veterinary Hospital in Fairhaven, after a grueling 3 days at home.  In under 40 minutes, without an X-ray, Dr. Gaudet diagnosed him with a dislocated jaw, anesthetized him and had his jaw placed back into position.   He is expected to make a full recovery.  SHAME on you Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists. We have had a few experiences here over the years, all positive. Is it cheap, no of course not, but it is within reason for emergency care. Our latest experience was when our senior diabetic cat had a very bad weekend where he had trouble breathing. He stabilized enough to make it to Monday morning, and was brought to our regular vet who sent us to CCVS as they had better equipment for what we needed done. The doctor and nurses were very compassionate with us and with him. We were there for awhile between stabilizing him, getting tests and putting together what could be done. As it turned out, not much. It was his time, and they continued to be very compassionate with giving us time to think, and giving us their feedback on what could be done. When it was time, the doctor was very unobtrusive and listened to us as we talked about him. It was as easy as it could be in the circumstances, and really helped us on a very difficult day. Very Disappointing and disturbing non-treatment.  We brought our Havenese, Maggie, for examination and treatment of an ear infection.  We chose the emergency clinic because our regular vet was not open on the weekend.  We were initially interviewed by an assistant who took her medical history.  We waited over 2 hours before we met the veterinarian on duty. The young veterinarian explained that Maggie had an ear infection as well as bruising on her abdomen as a result of allergies. (Maggie takes allergies pills daily.) The veterinarian explained that she had not treated Maggie's ear because of "risk of injury" and if she put something in her ear, "Maggie might go deaf."  She was prescribing an antibiotic to treat both her ear and allergy conditions.  We were promised a Discharge Summary regarding her examination and treatment.  We received Maggie's medication but were then surprised to learn she had not been given any by the vet. We asked for and received a pill pocket and gave Maggie her medicine.  We were charged $185 for the alleged examination. The Discharge Summary was never given or sent to us from the emergency veterinarian.  It was not until we got in the car that we realized Maggie's ear had not even been cleaned.  As an aside, we waited more than 10 minutes after we had paid and Maggie was officially discharged before they actually brought her to us and that happened only because my wife asked where Maggie was.We continued to give Maggie the antibiotics Saturday and Sunday with no appreciable change in her condition. On Monday, we took her to local veterinarian.  He treated her in my presence as follows: examination of the ear, flushing and washing the ear inside and out, putting ointment inside and outside the ear, giving a steroid injection, giving a new antibotic (stated to be a better choice of antibiotic) plus one additional ointment, directions for administrating the three medications, and setting up a follow-up appointment. After seeing our veterinarian, we called CCVS and spoke to the veterinarian who'd seen Maggie to questioned her about the non-treatment. As she had during our initial meeting, she restated her concern that any treatment might have have left Maggie deaf.  The veterinarian added that it would have involved legal risk "as if I'd given her an eye ointment and Maggie had gone blind."  Her stated overall concern was the legal liability of any treatment. We never considered legal issues or said anything that implied that. Our complaint is with the firm's Medical Director.  This was not appropriate, sufficient or standard medical treatment and we paid for a very inadequate exam. Many times I read the one star reviews and they really scare me off. In most cases, I always notice those reviews are based off money or personality. Those are two things I struggle to review on. This is a business. These are people and everyone is different. I'm struggling to understand that the user with the one star review in all caps was so distraught *and then* went back there. That review scared me, a lot. I want to tell you that my experience was not like that at all. It differed so greatly from those poor reviews. Here's my experience with my sweet pup. My dog of 13 years got very sick, very unexpectedly. I brought her to a vet on a Saturday where she spent the entire day and was diagnosed with several issues. Sadly, she worsened over that night and I brought her to CCVS on that Sunday. We waited a long time, but it was very busy. It is an emergency vet and on a Sunday. There were emergency's coming in that I could see with my own eyes that were visibly more concerning than my sick pup. As I waited and as nurses and vets came to assist me, I asked what the cost would be. I used my voice and mentioned that money was tight and just asked each time after they were finished and mentioned plans, "and what's the cost on that? Can I get an estimate?" It was always answered with, "Of course." She was diagnosed with a few more issues and to me, it was obvious and they were correct. Dr. Evans was the primary doctor helping and she was beyond informative, skilled, and compassionate. She gave honest answers, knowledgeable advice, skillful analysis and tons of compassion.  Over the next 48 hours, we tried to keep her strong, but my sweet pup couldn't make it. We brought her back on that following Tuesday and said our goodbyes. I cannot begin to describe the empathy and compassion that Dr. Evans showed us when we walked in and when I was feeling confused and feeling despair. The nurses were so kind hearted and so sweet. They gave us an option to take her outside and they would do what they needed to do outside. Our sweet pup loved being outside, so we took her up on that. They gave us time and they showed us love. I would've paid anything at this point. I'm sorry this is so long, but I want to point out that at any time if you have an issue, speak up. Use your voice and ask for estimates. Ask for another doctor or nurse. If no one is telling you anything, speak up and ask to speak to someone. No one is holding you at gunpoint to stick to what's happening. My bill was exactly what I expected and what they told me from estimates. They offered other options for my pup that were very expensive, but it added up and made sense for that care.  My poor pup's quality of life afterward would've been uncertain and sad if we went that route. Everyone's experience is different, but my experience was nothing but filled with compassion, empathy, skill and work. I thank them at CCVS. Read Less

We brought our 10 year old pitbull, Bella, in this past weekend for emergency Bloat care. She needed to undergo surgery right away and it was looking grim. The staff at the Dennis branch was so great at reassuring us of Bella's condition, being open and honest about her chances and odds throughout the entire process, giving us up to date estimates on the procedure, and letting us call as frequently as we wanted to check up on our girl. They assisted us in opening a credit line for financial assistance through Care Credit and saved our Bella girl with professionalism and lots of love. In the case of an emergency for your furry family members, I would recommend skipping Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists. I brought in my young cat and a 20 minute visit with them costed $300 with no answers except Doctor Henrietta Parnell-Turner bullying me into trying to euthanize my 2 year old cat after saying she was "almost positive" that he had cancer with no positive results in front of her. She also insisted to the secretary to not print my invoice, so to this day I am still unaware of why it costed me $300. 1/9/18 st 10:40pm . Dennis, Ma. Hospital. I brought my dog in due to symptoms  of not eating , shaking , wasn't moving  too much all day . I called ahead of time and the receptionist seemed a little off. No empathy. Receptionist advised that I live in Centerville and should go to Buzzards Bay (which is longer distance ). I mentioned it was a longer distance . She asked how long will I be ( annoyed) . I mentioned 20 minutes. I walked in and there was no one there . No other patients or people . As the door opened with the receptionist, there  was no  introduction or greeting or personality. She  looked annoyed.  Just the cost of the initial visit seemed to be the focus and I felt rushed with the dog . The receptionist was rushing to do pre check. I completely forgot my wallet at home ( how embarrassing)  with all the stress of trying to get my dog there.  I'm not sure if this has happened before to ccsv  . But I got the look.  They took the dog to the back . 5 minutes doctor Anna came out. No introduction, no empathy . Very cold. I vowed ., when i returned home I would give my card and it would be paid ) I felt that this was why I wAs treated by the vet like this)  .  I Mentioned this over and over as I felt like I was being treated cold .  I asked her twice if she weighed the dog . They had not. I'm not a vet , but isn't that what they do during pre check? My dog was dehydrated and I wanted to make sure he didn't lose a substantial amount weight.  They gave me options and I decided on X-rays . They mentioned it was 340.00 for X-rays and I clearly understood. My dogs health was more important . The diagnoses was stomach nausea perhaps. *We don't know . He was dehydrated a bit with soft stool. The doctor Anna did not even come out after we decided on what we would do with possible treatment. No  good luck .. nothing . Never came out . Just rude. I was so unhappy and all the doctors there are all usually amazing . But this doctor and receptionist were impersonal and horrible. And they had no patients! There was a nice woman that came out to discuss how to give the medication . She smiled and was kind . I thanked for being so kind . ( I almost cried) I assured I would call in my credit info as soon as I got home .  She was pleasant and told me not to worry .. the dogs okay that's important . She was very sincere and kind. I payed $625.01 as soon as I returned home over the phone.  And honestly . I would pay anything to make sure my dog wasn't sick or suffering. I'm hoping that they followed protocol and did what was needed to make sure In their initial check. All the checks were done without me in the room.  I'm disappointed in the lack of professionalism of the staff members on duty ( except for the woman at the end of the discharge she was professional ) . Completely Unacceptable fir a great animal hospital . Read Less

This amazing place saved our dog's life after he almost died due to the negligence of our regular vet. When we brought our 2.5 year old Busby in at 8pm last Thursday, he was literally dying from sepsis from what was supposed to have been a simple procedure. After stabilizing him, Dr. Kochin and Dr. O'Marra conducted three surgical procedures during a 5-6 hour period through the night and saved him. His post surgical care has been phenomenal and every complication, symptom and set back has been addressed and carefully monitored. He was transferred from their Dennis location to Buzzards Bay so he could get even closer monitoring. DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR ANIMALS TO THIS EMERGENCY HOSPITAL. I EMPHATICALLY DO NOT ENDORSE THIS ANIMAL HOSPITAL. IF YOU HAVE ISSUES WITH YOUR PETS, TAKE THEM TO BOSTON. DO NOT EVER TAKE THEM HERE. IT IS A MINIMUM OF $2k A DAY FOR TREATMENT HERE. THIS PLACE IS RUN BY A BUNCH OF GREEDY OPPORTUNISTS PROFITING ON THE BACKS OF VULNERABLE GRIEF STRICKEN ANIMAL OWNERS. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN FOR ITS COMPLETE DISREGARD OF ETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES. I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW ANYBODY IN GOOD CONSCIENCE COULD WORK AT THIS PRACTICE. It is reprehensible what goes on here & it sickens me to the core. I have now been to this Animal Hospital on 2 separate occasions for 2 different dogs one in 2010 & in 2017. And I have lived in Northern VA, Richmond VA, Boulder CO, Austin TX, West Palm Beach FL, Montpelier France & Chamonix France. And I have dealt regularly with veterinarians in each of those cities. In 2010, I brought my dog here because she had collapsed was shaking & I had no idea what was going on with her. I brought her in & they immediately took her in & started evaluating her. I told them immediately she had chronic UTI's & I was concerned she had another one. They diagnosed her, put her on antibiotics & administering fluids to rehydrate her. They kept her overnight & she started improving immediately. The next day, she had stabilized. I came in & they continued with the antibiotics & fluids. They strongly suggested I have her stay overnight which I willfully agreed to. By day two, They had charged me $5k. I had to call up my stock broker to cash in a Mutual Fund to pay for this exorbitant bill. Meanwhile, I continued to inquire about what had caused her symptoms. Each time, the staff members played dumb, responded vaguely or avoided providing any real explanation for her condition. By the 3rd day, my bill was at $7k. That evening, they decided she was healthy enough to return home. As I was leaving, I inquired one last time & yet once again they made no real attempt to let me know what the diagnosis was. After finally looking over the paperwork, the nurse informed me It was in fact, a UTI, that had caused her dehydration. They found nothing else wrong with her. Nothing. So for a 2.5 days of treatment FOR A UTI, my bill was $7k. Read Less

Very empathetic and caring staff. This would be our 3rd trip here and 5th to a vet in about 5 weeks...poor girl has had major ear issues resulting from our trip South. As far as fees go they have been great, not charging as much as the ER in Maryland and her own vet. after I mentioned it had already cost almost 800.00 and nothing seemed to work and actually get rid of the issue. Here's hoping the 5th time is the charm! Again, I would recommend them highly! Read Less

Very unsatisfied,  all they seem to care about is money. Before they discuss your pets health its, "I have the estimate", before an update on their status, "I have an updated estimate". Want 75% of high end estimate upfront! Charged me for services I did not receive (ultrasound) and for more services than the initially estimate (level 4 ICU vs Level 3). Worst part is they did nothing, 14 hours there my cat received no insulin,  even tho they watched his sugar go from 200 to 300 to 400 - really? And no antibiotics. They hung an iv bag and watched him, that's it, $1200 later. Wanted me to keep him there for 3 more days until the specialist was in to do the ultrasound to the tune of $5600! Um, no, he spent on more night at local hospital and was home the next day. Feel totally ripped off. "If he stays here we can treat him aggressively" my response - you've had him for 14 hrs and you haven't treated him at all! Avoid if at all possible. Read Less

We brought our mini dachshund in to the Dennis facility last week right after we noticed blood in her urine.  Everyone we met from the front desk staff to the technician to Dr. Hennessey were excellent.  All were friendly, patient, informative, and well trained.  The facility itself was clean with a waiting area large enough to lay it out so that dogs could wait with others if the owner liked or be separated if necessary.  After a very short break they had started triage on our dog.  Dr. Hennessey came in shortly after the technician finished her tasks and explained to us her thoughts and then left to look at the results of the urine sample we had brought in.  Dr. Hennessey returned in a very short time but apologized for taking a little while longer than she wanted because she had an animal come in as an emergency.  Even though Dr. Hennessey was very busy (she was the only vet on premise at the time we were there and had the emergency and 3 other dogs needing attention) she never appeared hurried and maintained a calm and professional demeanor.  She never hurried with us and informed us in great detail the recommended course of action she recommended.  We went with her recommendation and shortly after taking the first dose of medication she supplied our dog was more comfortable and by the following morning was pretty much back to normal.  We have no hesitation recommending this veterinary service.  If we were on the Cape more frequently we would absolutely have Dr. Hennessey as our go to veterinarian.A sincere thanks to the great folks we met that day. We were sent to Cape Cod Veterinary specialists because West Bridgewater Animal Hospital's ultra sound machine was not working. We were going to have our dog undergo surgery at West Bridgewater and they wanted the scan. When we went to the front desk they quoted us a cost of 350.00 but once they had our dog they came back to say that the price had doubled. Then we found that they did a unauthorized exam for 160.00 more. The disc they gave us was unreadable by the doctors at Bridgewater. 755.00 for nothing. Very cold only interested in the money. This place sucks. No need to sugar coat it. Our 10 month old Australian Shepard/golden mix started throwing up relentlessly one morning so we eventually brought him in that evening to be checked out. It was a Saturday night so we knew going to a pet ER would be more costly than a regular visit. Just to be seen was $160 (which was fine and acceptable).  We walked in and the only person in there was a receptionist who was rude right off the bat and told us to wait. We waited and waited. Eventually being seen after waiting 20 minutes they introduced us to a female vet (not sure her name but on the younger side).   They checked him and recommended an x-ray to see what exactly was going on. My fiancé and I obviously agreed and proceeded with that. Add another $278 just for that and we soon found out he had no blockages that they could see and everything seemed ok enough to "either go home and see how he feels or keep him overnight for observation/hydration". I neglected the overnight because she even said that nothing was blocking his system and they would just observe which would have cost another $500+ but we did opt to have an"under the skin" shot that would hydrate him for the next short while. Well when I neglected the anti-nausea medicine the nurse/vet/rude/non nice lady sternly told me "so your dog threw up all day and you don't want to give him that?" Very unprofessional. They seemed to only want to make money and just offer every possible thing to do so. On the way out we waited over an HOUR to be discharged. It was insane. Had to come back the next night to get a cd with his X-rays on it (which was surpassingly free) so we could bring to our regular vet and get the care we deserve. I believe in honest business no matter what it is. This place only wanted to offer things and not talk with us and explain everything in a caring way.  Never returning again. Read Less

Guys, this is an emergency hospital - obviously it's going to be more expensive then your vet! I paid about 2 months salary for my dogs surgery, but you know what? She had an accident on xmas day, so you have to pay more. Dr Beaver successfully operated on my little dog and while he isn't a talkative guy, he did a great job and we had no complications thankfully. Only qualm I had was I first took her to the Dennis location bc it's near my house, and the vet there was a little green and wasn't sure action to take (which is fine, she got Dr Beavers opinion) BUT i had to pay almost 1k just for her to stay overnight in dennis waiting for her to get a 2nd opinion only to be told I had to transport her  (with a dislocated hip) myself to Buzzards Bay, and pay another admissions fee even though it's the same company, what's up with that? The surgeon only does it in Buzzards Bay, so why so I have to pay to admit her again when I'm only transferring her there? Next time I will skip dennis and go right to buzzards bay if I knew that. My cat went in for a MRI because her glands came back cancerous. Dr. Beaver was nice enough to take my case and after a few days  I got the phone call about her results. Since I had nothing to look at over the phone I asked a lot of questions. He had enough of the questions and sharply told me my cat will not get over this. He should stick to not talking to clients. I also feel like my $1000 was just thrown away. I  travelled over 30 miles back and forth for this service because my cat had to stay the day. They also don't know how to take a catheter out and when I got home to take off her bandage she has a huge hematoma and starting bleeding everywhere. They also can't guarantee you will get your animal's blankets back. Animal's language is olfactory bass  and if they can't even keep a blanket that smells like home with their patient I wouldn't trust them with labeling samples or records. Read Less

Even though my dog has had to have 2 surgeries and is approaching his 3rd, when we go in there and the surgical staff come out to get him, he actually runs towards them. I know by this that they are really loving him and treating him as they would their own pet. This makes me feel extremely comfortable leaving my dog with them for surgery and to stay overnight. They are very thorough and precise with their paperwork which is also helpful. The facility also has the most up to date technology which is great. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Both my Boxers have had TTA surgery done by Dr. Beaver within the span of 8 months. Expensive yes but worth it. The facility is huge and very clean. The set up inside with the check in/out desk can get a little uncomfortable especially if there's a lot of dogs in there. Melissa is great and loved my dogs so that made me feel better leaving them there 2 nights. Most of the techs are great and take very good care of your pet while they're in the hospital. They call you to give you updates and are happy to update you if you call them. CCVS is up to date on all the technology and latest developments for animals so they can provide the best care for you pets. Dr. Beaver is great at what he does. Both my dogs knees have healed perfectly and they can finally run and play pain free. I do wish they would've given some kind of a discount since we had both dogs done in less than a year, though. Beaver is all business which was fine with me. He knows what he's doing and can explain any questions or concerns no problem. Our follow up visits were very quick once he came in and I liked how he got right to business examining the dog(s). Little to no chit chat other than how is he/she doing. I'd highly recommend CCVS for any specialized treatment as that's all we've been here for. We drove 40-45 minutes to the Cape each time to see Dr. Beaver for the dogs surgeries instead of someplace closer because he really is the best in the area. Read Less

While we were vacationing on Martha's Vineyard, our dog had a respiratory problem. The on-island vet covering the night shift correctly determined over the phone that we needed to get her to an emergency room quickly and that the needed facilities were off-island. One sleepless night and a 6am ferry later, we were at CCVS expecting help, but not much beyond that because we were hundreds of miles from home and beggars can't be choosers. Instead, our dog received care that was probably better than she would have received at home from her regular vet. CCVS treated her quickly, explained what they thought was the problem to us clearly and thoroughly, and then ran tests to make sure they weren't missing anything, but did not over-test. They immediately caught a problem different from the first diagnosis and recommended a course of action and a backup. They filled us in very professionally with just the right level of technical language and "plain speaking" metaphors. They outlined probably costs from high to low explicitly. They treated our dog - and us - with compassion, understanding and professionalism.  They prepared us for the worst case scenario, aimed for the best case scenario and achieved the latter. The charges came in at the low end of their estimate. The dog was kept overnight with her favorite dog bed. They let us see her. Someone was available to provide nursing updates as promised. She was discharged when they said she'd be. They even took into account our challenges of arranging ferry trips during periods when the boat was sold out and we had to sail on a stand-by basis. They provided complete documentation, an itemized, straightforward bill, and excellent follow-up instructions. They even called to follow up and see how she was doing. This could have been curtains for our dog at worst. At best, it could have ruined our vacation. Instead, we ran into a problem with our dog and found terrific care. The vet that handled this case was Dr Murray but others were involved, especially the backup surgical team. Dr Murray was wonderful and CCVS was great right down to the desk clerks. If you're local, we recommend them without hesitation. If you're vacationing on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket, carry their phone number with you. Hat's off to these great vets and their staff. Medical brains and caring hearts." Read Less

We couldn't have been more pleased with the efforts and help from the entire staff. I would feel more than comfortable trusting these guys with the care of Bella or any future animals I have. I was in a rush to drive 40 mins to MASS RI so I could actually receive care for my kitty - which I did. They were very informative and gave him the best care they could.

All of the doctors, nurses, technicians and other staff have been extraordinarily kind, communicative, honest, comforting, and responsive. We will be forever grateful to them for saving Busby's life and helping him and us through this traumatic ordeal that never should have happened in the first place. Read Less

Read Less

I took my ailing dog here for a second opinion to see a specialist. Be prepared to pay but be prepared for the best in diagnostics. Still sorting things out what's ailing my girl but am grateful they are a resource on Cape Cod. My dog is my Caribbean rescue. If she were on our island home, she'd likely be dead.  I gave it 4 stars because the cost is prohibitive for most. Diagnostics today exceeded 900.00. All of the staff were super friendly. Read Less

#1, the facility is very clean and welcoming and smells fresh. #2 the staff, not only at the desk, but the amazing staff that take care of the animals and the surgeons there especially Dr. Kochin, are all so helpful. You can tell they really care about the well being of your pet. My regular vet as well as my dog trainer both recommended this place and now I know why. Read Less

Today I had to say goodbye to the dog I have loved for 14 years after a long night of seizures that were slowly sapping all her strength.  I call CCVS and brought her in to their hospital.  She was still seizing and we made the decision to put her out of this nightmarish condition.  Every person there was compassionate, understanding and extremely professional.  They made her passing swift and painless and even brought her a soft bed to lie down on. I can't say enough good about this hospital.  They made a sad situation easier for me and for my dog. Read Less

Read Less

Like the only gas station for miles in a blizzard and you're on "E". The best place on earth if you are deperate. Caring, competent staff, full service (surgical/ER etc...) facility open 24/7.  But you will pay,,,,and dearly, and up front.I guess when you think about it, its the same with any medical provider. You need it, they know it, and they charge accordingly. No doubt they do good things and save many a life but my pet had something that went away on its own after their full battery of high end tests could not find the reason for her sickness. Hind sight is 20/20 and I might do the same again if something should happen, but I still feel like I paid $10 for a bottle of water at Fenway. Read Less

My 15 year old dog took a turn for the worst very quickly and he need immediate attention early Saturday morning. That is exactly what we got from Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists. From the moment we came in we were greeted with compassion and professionalism. They communicated with us in an honest and straight-forward manner, making an extremely difficult and emotional situation a lot easier on our family. If there is one positive thing that came out of the loss of our pet, it's the care he received during his time at CCVS. All the employees expressed a level of  empathy that we are grateful for. CCVS services were very reasonably priced.  They came recommended to us and we will recommend them in the future.
