My experience was great at first, then a couple months in it went south quick. First another dog in the waiting area aggressively approached my dog, with the owner apologizing as it happened, my dog barks and growls defending my pregnant wife; the lady behind the desk rudely says,"you should get your dog trained!" Ignorant to the fact my dog has certificates of training. Ignorant to the fact the other dog aggressively approached my dog!. In turn she just stereotyped the type of dog I have, considering my dog is extremely well behaved. So I requested my charts, and the owner came to discuss the situation with me and hand me my dog's charts trying to keep me as a customer because I am always on top of my dogs health and spend money to keep her healthy. So in turn I was not staying there after the way the situation went the way it did, he firmly held the chart as I had to pull it out of his grasps. Now two years later after I left their practice, I went to Wignal. Which in my opinion is the complete other side of the spectrum. Nothing has changed in the office of Chelmsford Animal. I had an issue with my rabies vaccine dates in the time I was previous to Chelmsford Animal Hospital. My dog was vaccinated twice only within 6 month period of time making it not a 3 year vaccine. Massachusetts protocol states that in order to count as a 3 year, the second vaccine must be no earlier than 9 months and no later than 12 months. I assumed that them being professionals, know the protocols to match the dates up, and know that what it said on previous paperwork was incorrect leaving me open to the law if a situation came about when I was paying for their professional services. Instead they neglected to do the extra work allowing me to go 2 years without a rabies shot. Also making my dog susceptible to rabies and or not following protocol. It boggles my mind when you bring in your paperwork and they scan it, but not completely going through it! To me, my dog is my daughter! If a hospital was to overlook things that would be a huge mistake. But this to them wasn't a big deal to overlook the protocol. Which should say something about their professionalism and level of devotion to providing the best service they can! Compared to me as playing with State protocols as well as patient health and well being. When I brought this to their attention on 11/21/14, they took my info and concern down and told me the doctor left already but Monday she would call me back. I waited till 3pm till I called and asked to speak with the doctor. The front desk clerk looked my name up and asked me to hold on. Then when someone picked back up immediately with a negative attitude stated that she was the supervisor and started raising her voice to me over the situation. Mind you she's not a doctor nor the person i asked for. While she's yelling that they went by the paperwork (which was incorrect protocol for the shot in Mass), and that they didn't do anything wrong and followed the right steps. My wife standing next to me asks, "who is that and why are they screaming at you?" Mind you I never raised my voice and I stayed calm and simply stated ill be in to speak to the owner she hung up on me before i was done stating it. They also don't fully understand surrounding states protocols either, not allowing you to bring your animal their if you want their services. Im from Mass and NEVER lived elsewhere but, you couldn't live in NH and expect them to know what their talking about. Like if you lived in Mass and moved to NH and stay their if you like their service. Is that the way a business should be handled? NO being a business owner myselfDo I think they love animals? YesDo I think they always overview all paperwork for new patients to correctly and caring follow protocol? NO which is a huge part of their industry and can affect your animal greatly, their health and the legality of them as wellDo they handle their mistakes properly? NO they try to pass the buck to cover their butts. its up to them to go through new patients old charts, question things that don't make sense and make sure you correctly follow your states laws and regulations.
