I am a long time receptive Yelp user, and now motivated to leave my first review because Concord Animal Hospital is exemplary. I have moved a few times since getting my dog, and until I found Concord Animal Hospital, each vet had their strengths and weaknesses, but none were outstanding. CAH hits every mark- all the people that work there are committed to your animal's well-being- the front desk staff, the techs, management, the dog groomer, and of course- the vets! The veterinary medicine is evidence-based and brilliant, and the vets practice collaboratively with the owners. Because it is family-owned, it is high touch and you never feel like your pet is just a means for the owners to make money. The owners care deeply about animals, including yours, and this pervades the office creating a sweet envelope of caring that your pet steps into. The cost is comparable to or less than nearby offices. The medical records are electronic- making it much easier for all staff to access that info and apply it, which eases continuum of care and safeguards your pet's health. They call you after any non-routine visits to see how your pet is doing- and not just so that they can force a survey down your throat- they actually want to know how your pet is doing. They are currently working on updating the facility, but don't let the cute antique exam tables confuse you- you will not find a better vet locally. I've tried a bunch of local vets, and their shiny facilities are no substitute for attentive, intelligent, and coordinated care. If you love your pet, this is the place for you!

All of the Dr.s at this hospital are wonderful - they are friendly, love each and every animal they see, and spend as much time as you need answering questions. I have come in with lots of different cat and dog issues and have experienced excellent care in every case.I have brought pets here over the last 17 years and I am very happy with the new management and level of care. I do believe that their services are on the expensive side; I may have to review all the charges I have from my most recent visits so that I can pick and choose which are really needed. The male receptionist is lovely and helpful, however the 2 female receptionists are not (reminding me of the mean receptionist from back in the early 90s!). No smiles, no apologies, no chitchat. It is too bad that they are the face of the organization.

Concord Animal Hospital is as good as it gets. Our dear kitty Luigi was born small and a bit deformed in his hind area, but we loved him through the years and controlled his thyroid condition with twice daily medication. When he went in for his rabies shot in November, I had him assessed as he didn't seem to be doing as well as he had been. He was down 3 lbs from his prior visit a year ago and blood work revealed he had kidney disease. Long story short, over the next 4 weeks we had him in to be seen again, and tried different medications to hopefully help him over the hump into recovery. Dr. Wilson and his team were beyond kind, attentive, and caring. I had numerous phone calls with him as I tried to determine the best course of action for Luigi. He was always helpful and kind and clearly wanted to stay informed of Luigi's condition. Unfortunately Luigi rapidly declined and we had to euthanize him yesterday (please see my review on Yelp for the amazing Peaceful Pet Parting). I can't say enough good things about Dr. Wilson and Concord Animal Hospital. Everyone there is wonderful and caring and I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

It was a late Friday afternoon and our almost 13 y.o Cockapoo began to shake, was panting heavily, and was unable to get up. Dr. Wilson saw him immediately. He and Dr. McCullough stabilized his condition, and we took our dog home visibly more comfortable.A week later, at the follow-up appointment, we were given options and came up with a treatment plan. Dr. Wilson also gave us more information on how to observe and care for our dog. Dr. Wilson and Dr. McCullough are wonderful: dedicated, calm, compassionate, extremely competent and professional. All the staff at the hospital has also been kind, caring and organized.We are grateful and highly recommend them.

Just moved from California where I rescued my dog from Mexico. My dog has super anxiety and is Afraid of everything. My experience with Dr. McCullough and her staff was amazing. Because of my dogs anxiety, the technician met me outside and walked my dog and I directly into the waiting room. Dr. McCullough and staff were a life saver in getting my dog to relax and provide the care she needed! I will be taking my dog here for life. Thanks again Concord Animal Hospital!!

Our family has been using the Concord Animal Hospital for over 25 years, caring for 11 animals over that time. We have always received great service and exceptional care. The recent change in ownership has increased the hospital's value by modernizing some aspects of animal care and, particularly, streamlining administration. Over the last 10+ years we have primarily consulted Dr. Hardie, who is excellent. We highly recommend Concord Animal Hospital.

We had a first visit with our older cat. The staff, from first phone call person through assistants, techs and our Doctor were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. And courteous, clear communicators. We were greeted by a welcome sign to our cat, and a clean, pleasant waiting area. We were very pleased with techniques used to keep our cat calm and complete the procedure. The doctor was very competent and straightforward about options. The costs were very reasonable. Our cat is a happy camper! We are also happy to have a new local veterenarian.

Concord Animal Hospital is a terrific team! They have provided so much help and advice from new puppies to old pups. They are kind, patient and thorough and we have so appreciated being able to call with questions and special requests. they provided great support this year when we planned a 16 hour road trip with our two Goldens. Last year, our one dog came up with some very unusual symptoms. Dr. Wilson got others involved to help with rare neurological disorder. This support was priceless and our dog has been treated and doing great! From the folks that answer the phone to the vet techs to the vets they are top notch people.Thank you!

"Warm and fuzzy" usually describes the pet, but in this case it's the whole Concord Animal Hospital - doctors and staff. Dr. Hardie, our vet for over 20 years, obviously loves cats. His kindness, expertise and ability to listen has enriched the lives of many of our kitties. He is particularly sensitive in end of life situations. And the staff is fantastic - the technicians are also kind and caring and the office staff pleasant, upbeat and efficient. They even answer the phone without those menu nightmares! Both a hospital and straight veterinary practice, it is outstanding.

I have been going to Concord Animal Hospital for the past 6 years and have nothing but good things to report! I called yesterday because my little 7 lb dog was acting ill and an appointment was arranged within the our to bring her in. Dr McCullough was great! Not my usual vet here --but I was thankful that she was able to see my dog in such a short time frame.. The entire staff are just good people to work with !

I have been bringing a pet to Concord Animal since 1989 and have always been impressed with the quality of care. However, yesterday, they went over and above the standard of excellence I showed up at 9:00 a.m. with my very ill dog and they took us all right in, despite being unexpectedly short-handed and coming off of a holiday weekend. Dr. McCullough was wonderful to myself, my children and to my Westie Kyla. She was very thorough with the testing there and set up an appointment at Blue Pearl vet with a cardiologist for later that afternoon. I can not thank everyone who was on yesterday enough for your care of Kyla and for her humans.

Dr. Wilson was my vet at another clinic before he purchased Concord Animal Hospital and I was sad when he left. Beanie is my first dog and Dr. Wilson was so kind, caring and PATIENT with me because I am a "tad" neurotic with her. After Dr. Wilson left I stayed with that clinic as it was closer to where I liveI recently felt like I needed a trusted second opinion concerning some surgery my little doggie may be facing to remove what might be a tumor on her chest, so I went to Concord Animal Hospital to see Dr. Wilson for a 2nd opinion. He was wonderful with Beanie and ME, listening to everything I had to say (albeit rather tearfully), explaining the pathology results in great detail and even drawing a diagram for me to understand more. The bottom line is, if this lump on her chest doesn't go away and Beanie does have to have surgery, I feel a lot better about making that decision after seeing Dr. Wilson. Even though I have only had one visit at Concord Animal Hospital, I felt really comfortable from my initial (again, kind of teary) phone call to the minute I walked in. Everyone I had contact with there was so kind and I could see that they truly cared about their clients.I have decided that, even though Concord Animal Hospital is a lot farther away from where I live, I am going to transfer my dog's care there.Thank you everyone at Concord Animal Hospital for helping make this difficult time for me a little easier.

It seems as though the Concord Animal Hospital is under new management? This has turned a solid animal hospital into a great one! While I was last there, I overheard one of the new veterinarians discussing ways to improve the office management workflow which is great! There certainly seem to be some front desk processes that could use some improvement / streamlining.
Regardless, this is a great animal hospital. When we visit, I feel like our dogs are getting very good care and the various doctors spend plenty of time with them and answer any questions we might have. We have no preference on which vet our dog sees as they all seem to do a great job.
We've been going here for 4+ years and will continue doing so!

We have been going to Concord Animal Hospital for over 30 years. We have had excellent care for all of our dogs. We have seen every doctor there for one reason or another and have liked every one of them. They have been gentle with our pets and have provided excellent care for anything for minor and potentially serious ailments to heart disease to chronic GI issues. Our last dog died when we were traveling. They were nothing but supportive to us and we even received a lovely note afterwards. Dr. Wilson, the new owner, is a welcome addition to the practice. He's kind and gentle,and is updating the landscaping and freshening up the building.

TERRIBLE Place!!!
I brought my sick cat here - and was seen by a young female veterinarian. She told me my cat was fine, probably a little bug. I KNEW he was not fine - but she acted like I was over-reacting, etc -- giving me "LOOKS". I ended up bringing him back about 3 times - and finally insisted on testing. She reluctantly did xrays and blood work - and told me itb all came out fine. This process took about 3 months - and cost about $1200+ dollars.
I ended up taking my dear sweet friend to the Referral Vet in Woburn. WIthin 10 minutes - they knew he had a lung tumor. They had the xrays from COncord - but they were so badly taken that they could not see. My cat was SUFFERING. He was in TERRIBLE pain.
I feel SO bad that my baby suffered for 3 months -- he used to look at me and cry.
NEVER go to this vet!!!

Baloo passed away on May 5, 2014, and because of these great doctors, he was able to live his last year with dignity. He was blind and deaf, but he could still feel the love around him. I've brought 5 animals to Concord Animal Hospital over a period of 20 years. First off, all the cats lived to 17 -- I feel due to the wonderful care at Concord Animal Hospital. Though the phone is sometime busy, I do get through OK. They have always been nice and caring. Now, I have been bringing my 13 year old Chihuahua there, and they have provided great care. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars, is because they referred me to more extensive expensive care, that I decided I didn't need.

We have been going here for nearly two decades. Probably had 6-7 cats during that time. While most of the visits were for basic shots and check ups, there were a few minor surgeries, spayed, neutered, etc. The care is excellent and they are very professional.
You are reminded when your pet needs it's shots with a reminder card in the mail. A nice touch, as it's always easy to forget!

He was down 3 lbs from his prior visit a year ago and blood work revealed he had kidney disease. Long story short, over the next 4 weeks we had him in to be seen again, and tried different medications to hopefully help him over the hump into recovery. Dr. Wilson and his team were beyond kind, attentive, and caring. I had numerous phone calls with him as I tried to determine the best course of action for Luigi. He was always helpful and kind and clearly wanted to stay informed of Luigi's condition. Unfortunately Luigi rapidly declined and we had to euthanize him yesterday (please see my review on Yelp for the amazing Peaceful Pet Parting). I can't say enough good things about Dr. Wilson and Concord Animal Hospital. Everyone there is wonderful and caring and I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

It was a late Friday afternoon and our almost 13 y.o Cockapoo began to shake, was panting heavily, and was unable to get up. Dr. Wilson saw him immediately. He and Dr. McCullough stabilized his condition, and we took our dog home visibly more comfortable.A week later, at the follow-up appointment, we were given options and came up with a treatment plan. Dr. Wilson also gave us more information on how to observe and care for our dog. Dr. Wilson and Dr. McCullough are wonderful: dedicated, calm, compassionate, extremely competent and professional. All the staff at the hospital has also been kind, caring and organized.We are grateful and highly recommend them.

Just moved from California where I rescued my dog from Mexico. My dog has super anxiety and is Afraid of everything. My experience with Dr. McCullough and her staff was amazing. Because of my dogs anxiety, the technician met me outside and walked my dog and I directly into the waiting room. We had a first visit with our older cat. The staff, from first phone call person through assistants, techs and our Doctor were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. And courteous, clear communicators. We were greeted by a welcome sign to our cat, and a clean, pleasant waiting area. We were very pleased with techniques used to keep our cat calm and complete the procedure. The doctor was very competent and straightforward about options. The costs were very reasonable. Our cat is a happy camper! We are also happy to have a new local veterenarian.

They are kind, patient and thorough and we have so appreciated being able to call with questions and special requests. they provided great support this year when we planned a 16 hour road trip with our two Goldens. Last year, our one dog came up with some very unusual symptoms. Dr. Wilson got others involved to help with rare neurological disorder. "Warm and fuzzy" usually describes the pet, but in this case it's the whole Concord Animal Hospital - doctors and staff. Dr. Hardie, our vet for over 20 years, obviously loves cats. His kindness, expertise and ability to listen has enriched the lives of many of our kitties. He is particularly sensitive in end of life situations. And the staff is fantastic - the technicians are also kind and caring and the office staff pleasant, upbeat and efficient. They even answer the phone without those menu nightmares! Both a hospital and straight veterinary practice, it is outstanding.

I called yesterday because my little 7 lb dog was acting ill and an appointment was arranged within the our to bring her in. Dr McCullough was great! Not my usual vet here --but I was thankful that she was able to see my dog in such a short time frame.. The entire staff are just good people to work with !

I have been bringing a pet to Concord Animal since 1989 and have always been impressed with the quality of care. However, yesterday, they went over and above the standard of excellence I showed up at 9:00 a.m. with my very ill dog and they took us all right in, despite being unexpectedly short-handed and coming off of a holiday weekend. Dr. McCullough was wonderful to myself, my children and to my Westie Kyla. She was very thorough with the testing there and set up an appointment at Blue Pearl vet with a cardiologist for later that afternoon. I can not thank everyone who was on yesterday enough for your care of Kyla and for her humans.

Dr. Wilson was my vet at another clinic before he purchased Concord Animal Hospital and I was sad when he left. Beanie is my first dog and Dr. Wilson was so kind, caring and PATIENT with me because I am a "tad" neurotic with her. After Dr. Wilson left I stayed with that clinic as it was closer to where I liveI recently felt like I needed a trusted second opinion concerning some surgery my little doggie may be facing to remove what might be a tumor on her chest, so I went to Concord Animal Hospital to see Dr. Wilson for a 2nd opinion. He was wonderful with Beanie and ME, listening to everything I had to say (albeit rather tearfully), explaining the pathology results in great detail and even drawing a diagram for me to understand more. The bottom line is, if this lump on her chest doesn't go away and Beanie does have to have surgery, I feel a lot better about making that decision after seeing Dr. Wilson. Even though I have only had one visit at Concord Animal Hospital, I felt really comfortable from my initial (again, kind of teary) phone call to the minute I walked in. Everyone I had contact with there was so kind and I could see that they truly cared about their clients.I have decided that, even though Concord Animal Hospital is a lot farther away from where I live, I am going to transfer my dog's care there.Thank you everyone at Concord Animal Hospital for helping make this difficult time for me a little easier.

It seems as though the Concord Animal Hospital is under new management? This has turned a solid animal hospital into a great one! While I was last there, I overheard one of the new veterinarians discussing ways to improve the office management workflow which is great! There certainly seem to be some front desk processes that could use some improvement / streamlining.
Regardless, this is a great animal hospital. When we visit, I feel like our dogs are getting very good care and the various doctors spend plenty of time with them and answer any questions we might have. We have no preference on which vet our dog sees as they all seem to do a great job.
We've been going here for 4+ years and will continue doing so!

We have been going to Concord Animal Hospital for over 30 years. We have had excellent care for all of our dogs. We have seen every doctor there for one reason or another and have liked every one of them. They have been gentle with our pets and have provided excellent care for anything for minor and potentially serious ailments to heart disease to chronic GI issues. Our last dog died when we were traveling. They were nothing but supportive to us and we even received a lovely note afterwards. Dr. Wilson, the new owner, is a welcome addition to the practice. He's kind and gentle,and is updating the landscaping and freshening up the building.

TERRIBLE Place!!!
I brought my sick cat here - and was seen by a young female veterinarian. She told me my cat was fine, probably a little bug. I KNEW he was not fine - but she acted like I was over-reacting, etc -- giving me "LOOKS". I ended up bringing him back about 3 times - and finally insisted on testing. She reluctantly did xrays and blood work - and told me itb all came out fine. This process took about 3 months - and cost about $1200+ dollars.
I ended up taking my dear sweet friend to the Referral Vet in Woburn. WIthin 10 minutes - they knew he had a lung tumor. They had the xrays from COncord - but they were so badly taken that they could not see. My cat was SUFFERING. He was in TERRIBLE pain.
I feel SO bad that my baby suffered for 3 months -- he used to look at me and cry.
NEVER go to this vet!!!

Baloo passed away on May 5, 2014, and because of these great doctors, he was able to live his last year with dignity. He was blind and deaf, but he could still feel the love around him. I've brought 5 animals to Concord Animal Hospital over a period of 20 years. First off, all the cats lived to 17 -- I feel due to the wonderful care at Concord Animal Hospital. Though the phone is sometime busy, I do get through OK. They have always been nice and caring. Now, I have been bringing my 13 year old Chihuahua there, and they have provided great care. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars, is because they referred me to more extensive expensive care, that I decided I didn't need.

We have been going here for nearly two decades. Probably had 6-7 cats during that time. While most of the visits were for basic shots and check ups, there were a few minor surgeries, spayed, neutered, etc. The care is excellent and they are very professional.
You are reminded when your pet needs it's shots with a reminder card in the mail. A nice touch, as it's always easy to forget!
