After receiving poor treatment at our former veterinarian’s office, my fiancé and I were desperate to find an animal hospital that would provide a higher standard of care for our seven year old Pomeranian, Max, who suffers from a collapsing trachea. In December 2017, after numerous referrals, we booked an appointment with Dr. Alexandre at Chase Farm. Since then, we have taken Max three times.. one emergency appointment seeing Dr. Bartkus after the hospital was already closed. Each time we have visited Chase Farm, Max has been treated as if he's the ONLY patient of the day. We are completely blown away with the quality of care Max is now receiving. In short, Dr. Alexandre, Dr. Bartkus and the staff at Chase Farm have overwhelmingly exceeded our expectations and we are so thankful to have found such an amazing animal care group. Words alone cannot describe how happy we are to have found Chase Farm. Please, give them a try; you’ll be glad you did! Read Less

My 7 month old kitten had her shots done at this hospital so when she was acting odd I brought her in. They did some tests and found out she had multiple life threatening problems and handled the news so delicately. I made the choice to put her down because she was so young. It's amazing how quickly pets can get into your heart and I was naturally heart broken putting her down. They sent me home and didn't ask me to pay any bills; they said not to worry about it and they will be in touch when I could come pick up her remains. Dr snow was amazing and so sensitive. Then about a week later I was brought to tears again when I came home to a hand written card from dr snow saying he was sorry for my loss and he even called my kitten by her name! Losing a pet is always hard and the care this place gives is beyond amazing. Thank you to everyone that helped my little rue.Read Less

This pet hospital is good for some pet problems but do not bring them here for eye problems! Both my cat and dog had eye problems within a week of each other. I spent almost $500 and they misdiagnosed both pets! They gave my cat the wrong medicine and dosage and now the cat is blind. My dog might have saved his eye also had they diagnosed him in time also. Luckily I brought them for a second opinion to Capeway Animal Hospital in Fairhaven, MA (they are here on YELP) and they were smart enough to refer us to a vet who specializes in eye care (Eye Care for Animals 401-738-7337, 42 Benefit St Warwick, RI.). Dr. Binder is fantastic! He started an aggressive treatment to save my dogs eye but after a week he encouraged us to relieve our dog's glaucoma pressure with surgery. With our cat, he gave us Meds for his 300+ high blood pressure and had us come back in 2 days to find the Meds lowered his pressure to normal. Had Chase Animal Hospital given us the right Meds (Amlodipine) my cat may have not lost its eye sight! There is still a slight chance his eye sight could return now that his pressure is normal but so far it hasn't. My poor cat is deaf and now he's blind :( Dr Bender has me check his pressure every week and I can go to him or have Capeway Animal Hospital check it. Since our dog is still under post-opt, I'll keep having Eye Care check his pressure then switch to Capeway.I called Chase Animal Hospital to give the name of Dr Binder that helped us and I sure hope they start to refer eye problems to Eye Care for Animals. You'll also find them on YELP. I will be giving them an excellent review. Don't trust Chase Animal Hospital with your pet's eye problems!!!! Read Less

as long as i can remember growing up we brought our animals to chase. now that im older with a family and a dog of my own i decided to make this our vet of choice. i got a puppy german shepherd she is over a year old now and she has been to her regular appointments and one things annoys me about the vet techs is my dog weighs 90lbs and she doesnt really enjoy strangers not that she is aggressive because she is not at all but she does like to jump up and try to lick the face of strangers and it makes it worse when the vet techs approach her with high energy high pitch voices that amp her jumping behavior even worse. i have watched plenty of Cesar Millans shows and the one thing he stresses is as a human being around dogs you need to be calm and assertive meaning "no touch no talk no eye contact" those are his words and these vet techs apparently do not watch Cesar Millan because they make the situation worse. my dog already knows the vet is the place where she got fixed and must remember so my dog doesnt like this place at all and having inexperienced vet techs amping up a dogs negative behavior is not smart. i was going to rate 3 stars but then i remembered how much it costs and its expensive for a vet visit. so 2 stars been looking into switching vets even though i feel chase has the highest quality of knowledge and care. Such a great experience with Dr. Pitcairn .. I was no longer welcome back to my previous vet, who I had been taking my pup since he was baby, so after a year an half of my pup being sick and having terrible allergies I decided to switch him to a raw diet. When I went for a check up visit and told my prior vet (after she gushed on how great he looked) he was eating rAw.. Her whole attitude changed and with little explanation she told me she did not support feeding raw meat to dogs and I was no longer welcome at the practice. Heartbroken and confused I searched high and low for vets that are supportive of my choice to feed raw as well as try natural remedies before pumping my dog w drugs. Finally I was referred to Chase Farm by the woman I buy my rAw food from. I couldn't be happier I found them! Thank you!!!!! Read Less

Our 9 week old boxer puppy "Bella" died yesterday. We've done business with chase for years and have spent thousands over the years there on our former dog, Maggie Mae. We got a new puppy, Bella, 4 days ago. We called when she was lethargic and acting weak. Despite having a long history (and an upcoming appointment there next week) chase would not take our puppy in to be looked at when we called at 3:00pm...despite their closing at 7:00pm. We were stunned. We ended up taking Bella to another vet and she died unexpectedly about an hour later. We told chase what happened. They never called to apologize, nothing. No empathy at all. We are sad, yes. But we are angry that a business that we considered "friends" wouldn't help us in our time of need. Look elsewhere for a vet who cares.Read Less

I am officially in love with this vet. After having several disappointing experiences in Providence, I tried this place at the recommendation of a friend. First I just took my dog in for a routine visit, but last week she needed surgery for a hernia in her stomach, as well as a loose tooth removed. The staff is great--so much friendlier and more competent than the staff at a lot of vet offices. And the doctor who performed my dog's surgery was awesome. She was able to correctly diagnose the hernia, while two other vets we had seen had no idea what it was. Also, the cost at Chase Farm was HALF of the estimate I got in Providence. I am so grateful that I found this place for my dog, and would not hesitate recommending it to anyone. Read Less

My family has had a long standing relationship with CFVH and Dr. Nicole Rickard in particular. My 2 previous dogs were patients of Dr. Rickard and my 2 current dogs are patients. I HIGHLY recommend CFVH to anyone and wouldn't want to bring my dogs anywhere else. Not only did the staff at CFVH help my family to locate a specific type of puppy while a family member was terminally ill (on extremely short notice) but they did so with a level of caring and compassion that showed they care not only about their animal patients but about their families as well.About 6 months later, my other dog was brought in while we were on vacation in Florida. Unfortunately the staff at CFVH had to inform us that he had a bone tumor that had caused his femur to break. We were told we had to amputate or euthanize and that they were very confident in the positive results from amputation in Gunner's specific case. Dr. Rochette was extremely helpful and sensitive to our feelings as we made this difficult decision from 1,000 miles away. Dr. Rochette and Dr. Pitcairn performed the amputation within hours and did a fantastic job. They kept our dog, Gunner, there for 5 days until we returned home from our trip and kept us posted every step of the way with how he was doing or reassuring us he was doing well whenever we felt the need to call. Gunner has now been undergoing chemotherapy for the past 4 months at CFVH and we couldn't be more thrilled with their continued attention to his well being. They put 100% into making sure that he is comfortable and that we are too. We are in CFVH 2-3 times a month and are always greeted warmly by a familiar face. Besides the human side of the positives we have experienced at CFVH it is excellent that they provide many services in house. Being able to do the amputation and the chemotherapy without having to start with a new veterinary hospital was excellent.Gunner is doing fabulously and we have everyone at CFVH to thank for all of their hard work and love towards all of us through the good times and the bad times with our four legged and three legged family members. as long as i can remember growing up we brought our animals to chase. now that im older with a family and a dog of my own i decided to make this our vet of choice. i got a puppy german shepherd she is over a year old now and she has been to her regular appointments and one things annoys me about the vet techs is my dog weighs 90lbs and she doesnt really enjoy strangers not that she is aggressive because she is not at all but she does like to jump up and try to lick the face of strangers and it makes it worse when the vet techs approach her with high energy high pitch voices that amp her jumping behavior even worse. i have watched plenty of Cesar Millans shows and the one thing he stresses is as a human being around dogs you need to be calm and assertive meaning "no touch no talk no eye contact" those are his words and these vet techs apparently do not watch Cesar Millan because they make the situation worse. my dog already knows the vet is the place where she got fixed and must remember so my dog doesnt like this place at all and having inexperienced vet techs amping up a dogs negative behavior is not smart. i was going to rate 3 stars but then i remembered how much it costs and its expensive for a vet visit. so 2 stars been looking into switching vets even though i feel chase has the highest quality of knowledge and care.
