I would give this facility a 5-star rating if it were not for the vet tech who did the pre-exam .. his attitude was sort of "well, if he's already being treated, what are you doing here ... and, by the way, the wait will be at least 45 minutes".  Not his exact words - words, interruptions, attitude.  He wanted paperwork, the names of all meds - I only had them one day.  I took my dog to the ER 2 nights previous (this was the treatment the tech was referring to) but I was alarmed at his deterioration even from just 2 days - I was hoping for better care since the name of this place includes"EYE", that the treatment might be better.  All was better - excellent in fact - after he moved on.  My dog's eye condition was serious, they did a VERY thorough exam, kept him overnight and with aggressive treatment.  Facilities should keep an eye on staff and move them on if they begin to get sick of people and their pets.  Altho the tech said the eye doc wasn't in, they did email her photos and got her ok. Dr Jurek and her staff are amazing. They take the time to know your pet and to educate you in how to best care for their eyes. We took our blind Yorkie with PRA to see them. After uvitis and late stage cataracts set in on her eyes it was time to have them removed; with their help and care she will now have better health and quality of life and continue to be the sweet but sassy girl we love. My corgi, Buster, was diagnosed with dry eye syndrome when he was just barely a year old. After scratching his left eye and damaging it, I was transferred from my regular vet to Dr. Jurk. She saw us immediately.  We did have the eye removed and are treating his good eye with medications.  After 2 years of this, he is doing superb. He gets a checkup every six months. Dr Jurk is by far the best eye specialist in New England.  She and her staff are always available for emergencies.  The office is delightful and Buster loves going in for his checkups. Read Less

Wow. Just, wow. Animal Eye Care of New England is located on a quiet cul-de-sac in the middle of some beautiful Massachusetts woods. The facility itself feels like you are walking into a spa. From the whitewashed wood floors, to the cheery, colorful decor, to the cozy furniture, you know this is a place that specializes in greatness. I mean, they have a snack bar complete with coffee machine, and individual bags of chips and other goodies for you to enjoy while you wait. Luxurious may be a bit over the top, but it's pretty darn close. After a short wait, Dr. Jurk's (pronounced Yerk) assistant brought us in to what felt more like a guest room than a clinical office. And it may sound superficial to comment on the interior of the room, but you know what? Comfort is pretty important when you are seeing a specialist. You are already on edge because something is terribly awry with your favorite animal on the planet, so, it matters. Dr. Jurk and her assistant were both absolutely lovely and made both me and my pug feel very secure. My love pug had all kinds of drops put in her eye, and then Dr. Jurk did an ultrasound of the eye, all the while cooing and consoling my fat baby. She then let me take a photo of the ultrasound, and explained everything in great detail to me. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Jurk and her staff. They are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate. I live over an hour away and she is 100% worth the drive. I will forewarn you that my initial visit was $135 just to get in the door, so it is expensive. However, that is to be expected when you see any specialist, so I do not feel it was an unfair price, and would honestly gladly pay twice that amount after the wonderful experience I had during my visit. She is the best of the best, for sure. Read Less
