Giving them two stars is me being nice. I am so not happy with the experience that my husband had today when bringing one of our dogs there. He did not get his rabies shot that he needs. I also did not want Heartgard because we use Advantage 2 and it works perfectly. My husband told them no but they still gave it to him and charged him!!! We will be looking for a new vet, again!!!! 😠😠 Read Less

Doc Schmidt is a wonderful man - We will miss him terribly when he retires. The other folks we've seen are all totally fine too. And yes, the main receptionist isn't friendly, but I try to give her the benefit of the doubt and not take it personally. I really don't think she can help it, and I figure we all have our struggles in life and things we're not good at, myself included. Read Less

Dr. Schmidt has been my horse vet for about 25 years now. He is so wonderful to my animals that I have also started bringing my dogs to the office. That was the first time I met Dr. Burand, who couldn't be more sweet. They both treat my animals very well and I trust them both 100%. I recommend them to people who are looking for a new veterinarian. Read Less

Suspecting a broken limb, an emergency visit brought our dog to this outfit. Gouging comes to mind when your bring a dog in on a weekend and come out with a $1300 bill for prescribed multiple exams that were not required for a sick but well followed dog at his regular Doctor. Albert, a Labrador was 12 years and 7 months.and had to be euthanized 3 days after. The tests results never arrived in time to be of any use... Be aware! Read Less

They have made significant efforts to help my animals. Finally, I have found them able to appropriately diagnose and treat my animals when other vets were unable.Read Less

i went in with a veterinary emergency, my dog had eaten a bag of grapes, which are poisonous to dogs. i couldn't make her vomit, so i headed to the closest vet to me. south deerfield turned me away because i was not a *current* client. i had brought my dog there a few years before when i was trying vets out in the area, so it wasn't like they had never seen my dog. they were not great then, so i went with another vet. the other reviews mentioning the awful front desk receptionist are absolutely right. she is awful. based on my past and current issues with them you can be sure i'll never set foot in that place ever again. I had never used this particular vet clinic until this past summer when I brought in an injured woodpecker. The front desk receptionist (an older woman) was not friendly in the least, but the vet tech & the veterinarian were very kind & helpful. Due to this wonderful treatment, I decided I would change vet clinics (for my 4 cats) since one of them had an eye infection. I called today (11/25/14) to schedule an appointment for my cat to be seen. I am not sure if it was the same receptionist (this one sounded much younger than the other one), but she could not have been more rude! It was more her tone than what she said. Studies show that 90% of communication is tone of voice, not what is said. Front desk personnel are the heart & soul of any business. They can make or break a customer's experience. Thus it is vital that they have warm & friendly personalities. I am a retired nurse & my husband is a PA (Physician Assistant). We are very knowledgeable as to the day to day workings of a healthcare setting/clinic. I hope that the doctor of this vet clinic will be much more careful with who he or she hires as a receptionist! The front desk receptionist (an older woman) was not friendly in the least, but the vet tech & the veterinarian were very kind & helpful.
