If you have a 4 legged family member, this is a wonderful place to keep them healthy. There are several vets so they can definitely squeeze you in, but you can also ask for the same Doctor if you prefer. Capeway has always taken EXCELLENT care of my pets. I have had both cats and dogs in the past, but have had significant medical issues with both of my dogs. If you're thinking of boarding your pet there, BEWARE! I've taken my dog to them for years and have been satisfied albeit that they are more expensive than others. I boarded my dog recently and in less than 12 hours of calling to check on her, I'm told she had ear and eye infections. Cocker Spaniels often have ear infections and if they had the courtesy to check with me, I would have told them to clean her ears first and then treat if it didn't clear as I do at home. I was upset that they didn't bother checking with me before treating her and was told that they can do what they felt necessary since I signed their consent form. I doubt she had an eye infection as well as she has had a bloodshot eye since the day she was born which they should have had in their records. They just take the liberty to do whatever they want and then tell you how much you owe. I was told by 2 people that I was also being charged for an office visit ($60+) but then the Vet told me they were waiving that. How generous and surprising that the bill came to $162 which was $10 more than what the first person told me I owed which included the office visit. Go figure. Needless to say, I will be going to a different vet in the future, one that is not looking to make an extra buck. Read Less

I found this hospital and I think they are doing an amazing job and they are really friendly and nice vets. Dr Gaudette and Dr Sherman are not just excellent doctors they are kind, considerate and very sensitive to the cost of pet health care. They have on many occasions advised us to "save our money" by not bringing one of our beagles in and watching them instead before seeking care. They have combined visits to keep costs down and their staff works with us on discounts on meds and prescription dog food. They also give us advice on the phone when my beagle eats things he should not eat which is more often than I care to mention. First of all let me say everyone there is very friendly. I brought my dog in for a kennel cough shot, I was asked by the technician if I wanted any blood work done, I said no just the shot. Then she asked if I wanted the Vet to give the dog a checkup, I said no just the shot.The Vet came in and asked all kinds of questions about his health which I answered, she then proceeded to check his ears, mouth, heartbeat and took his temperature and asked if I wanted flea & tick prevention to which I said no just the shot.When I got to the desk to pay the bill, the girl told me $105.00 which I thought was high for just a shot too which she said the doctor gave him a 'Wellness Checkup' that they charged me $68.50 for. I did not notice that charge until I got out to my vehicle. I don't know what part of NO they do not understand. I told them at least 3-4 times that I only wanted the shot.By the way it isn't even a shot, it's drops that they put in the nose, I'm sure the technician could have done that and I wouldn't even had to see the Vet. I recently brought my cat there who had a blockage in his bladder and while the nurses and the ladies at the front desk were really nice and understanding, the doctor who talked to us was not so nice and told us if we couldn't pay the thousand dollars needed to make our baby better in one sum then he was going die ): I only have a part time job so I asked if I could pay in payments but he refused us so we went to a different vet and our baby is now being taken care of. This is honestly a good vet if you have a lot of money but if not then they don't care about you or your animals and I think that's unfair. Read Less

As a long-term customer of Capeway and Dr. Gaudet, I could not have better things to say. They helped us throughout the life of our dog and were extremely helpful and compassionate at the end. Their staff are all friendly and helpful, and the office is top notch. What stands out most is the generous sharing of information from Dr. Gaudet including options for treatment and just basically educating you on what's going on in laymans terms. I brought my cat there, who I love dearly and who has not been feeling well. I felt as if the examination was done very quickly, and I felt like my concerns were not taken into consideration. Vet did not give much advice on what to do other than blood work. My cat had not been eating or drinking for almost two days. The vet tech was very nice and seemed to be.more helpful then the actual vet. This was my first visit at causeway and will unfortunately be my last. They were absolutely great when I first started going there. But over time their priorities have changed from caring for animals to money that they can make. Don't get me wrong making money is always a priority but now they only look at their clients as money. I did not find them caring or kind individuals. A huge thank you to Dr. Ashley and the staff at Capeway. I have been taking my beloved pup to another vet since she was 4 months old. At first, the other vet was really good with her, but as she developed more and more allergies, I just didn't feel like they were giving me enough options for treatment. My dog was suffering so much, and it broke my heart to see her struggling each day. I tried many home remedies as I searched the Internet for any possible product that would provide relief. I spent hundreds of dollars on over the counter products and home remedies and even more on meds prescribed by the other vet. On the advice of a friend and due to wonderful reviews on the Internet, I decided to move her care to Capeway. I am happy to say that within two days of seeing Dr. Ashley, she is having more relief from her allergies than she has had in years!!! We've been bringing our pup to Capeway for over six years now. I'm an extremely overanxious doggy daddy, and Dr. J is incredibly patient with my incessant questions. I have them on speed dial, and I recommend them to any pet owners in the area. My only criticism is that I can't recommend them for grooming services. We used to bring our Schnauzer there regularly, but they've gone through a number of groomers in the past few years. We were originally very happy with their services (very reasonably priced) but our pup lost his full, distinguished beard -twice- even after we specifically asked them not to trim it. We use the new groomer on Main st. now. As far as their vet services though, top notch. 5 stars.Read Less

I couldn't say enough great things about this place. I moved to the area for grad school so I needed a new vet and read reviews for other places which all had great reviews for dogs but I wanted to hear from someone who had a cat and this place had a great review from a cat owner so I gave it a shot. I will always come to this vet while I am in the area. I had Dr Ortiz a couple of times who really cared for my two kittens and settled some nerves I had. They have been amazing even in slight emergency situations. I have also had Dr. Jayaram as well who was also great.  Overall this place has my trust. We've been bringing our dogs to Capeway for the past 5 years, and we have never once had a bad experience or felt like our dogs weren't taken care of. When we adopted our springer she had a horrible skin allergy along with other medial issues and Capeway took great care of her, she is now healthy and thriving. Whenever we bring the dogs in for a sick visit, there is always a follow up call asking how they are doing. The techs and doctors are so friendly and knowledgeable, we definitely feel like our dogs are in good hands with Capeway. We also use the grooming service, Josh is wonderful and always listens to us. They kept filing my dog's shots wrong. Every time I made an appointment for grooming they would tell me my dog needed one shot or test or another. Only 1 out of 3 times did this turn out to be true. And when it was true they would straight up -refuse- to groom my dog until the shot was up to date, even if it was only off by a week or two and I planned to get it for her soon. Read Less

I was once a loyal CVH advocate. They've treated 2 of my pets for a total of 7 non-consecutive years. I really like Dr. Sherman and appreciated that he had my dog and cat's best interest at heart. Recently my family decided to add a 2nd dog to our family, a rescue from TN. After going through the application process with a wonderful rescue group, we were approved and ready to bring her home from her foster family. But something seemed amiss with our new girl. It was determined by the Veterinarian of the rescue group that she had Lupus. We were encouraged by that practice in Randolph (amazing Dr's there, but too far from us to travel regularly with her) that we talk to our local Vet and get a plan of action in place before bringing our new girl home. Ok, this is progress we thought. We were already committed to bringing this girl home and doing whatever we could to make life better for her.I called CVH and asked to speak with Dr. Sherman. I was told by the receptionist, he was not in that day, but she'd talk to Dr. Jayaram about canine lupus and what I should expect as far as treatment and care. Well the answer I got back nearly knocked me off my chair - "Save yourself the heartache and don't walk, run away from this dog" was exactly the words relayed to me from Dr. Jayaram. I was astonished. These people are supposed to be advocates for animals and this doctor told me to save myself the heartache?!?! I flat out told the receptionist that I was insulted and I'd be calling back to have our 2 current pet patients of CVH's records moved over to a different local animal hospital. I was so disheartened by their practice and by their philosophy towards my situation. My records with them will show that I've had a cat there treated for epilepsy and 8 years after her first seizure, she's still with us and doing fine. Why on earth would I run from a dog with lupus? I'm not some derelict customer of theirs either, I have paid every bill in full at the time of billing and have even paid the bills of another one of their customers who couldn't afford medecine for their dog when I happened to be brining my dog in for her shots and noticed that this family didn't have the money to take care of their pet. Perhaps Dr. Jayaram was having a bad day or perhaps she truly thought she was giving me sound advice, but I would rather bring my pets to a puppy mill back-alley Vet than go there again. For the record, our girl is being treated at another local Vet and is thriving and I'm so glad that I did not heed the warnings of Dr. Jayaram because this girl has brought us so much joy and love and we look forward to many more happy years with her. My family has been bringing their pets to Capeway Veterinary Hospital since the eighties. Dr. Gaudet saved my first cat's life from a parasite when another vet at a different practice couldn't properly diagnose him. That vet proposed exploratory surgery "since the cat was going to die anyway". Once we found Dr. Gaudet, we never went back. He is very knowledgeable, and he really cares about his patients. Capeway's practice has expanded over the years, and Dr. Gaudet has added new partners. My family has been happy with all of them, but they especially like  Dr. Jayaram.
