I can't even put into words how incredibly grateful we are to have found this practice.  This team (all of them, not just the doctors) is so incredibly kind.  The services are affordable providing traditional care, acupuncture etc.  Our vet has worked with both ER and oncology doctors to help us navigate the best care for our pups.  We've had surgeries here and every single experience has been positive and thoughtful.  I just love this team.  I wouldn't go anywhere else! We saw Dr. Monroe with our Cocker Spaniel yesterday and could not be more thrilled with the care he received. Everyone from the front desk staff to those answering the phones was accommodating and incredibly helpful. Dr. Monroe is a smart, thoughtful, compassionate vet who knows her stuff. She quickly assessed our dog, Wesley, suggesting several possibilities for what might be causing his months long loose stool...false negative stool sample masking giardia or irritable bowel disease or protein sensitivity to chicken and prescribed two different antibiotics with clear instructions including follow-up. Vet prices always seem crazy high but seemed relatively reasonable ... $175 approx for visit and two medications. Overall a tremendously positive experience!  (Now if only I could find a human primary care doc that amazing!) Read Less

I've been taking my schnoodle to FAH since this past summer. (5 months and unfortunately 4 visits) I am a first time dog owner and can say that every time I arrive at the hospital very anxious and leave calm, cool and collected. Dr. Monroe's approach is unique and reassuring. I know that my pup is in good hands with her and trust her to provide him with exceptional care. I'm thankful for this hospital and its staff. I absolutely love the FAH! I've been coming here for almost 20 years. Dr. Nord is amazing!!! They go above and beyond. Even when I had to put 3 of my cats down, due to old age and health conditions, they were so sweet to my pets and understanding to me cuz I was devastated. They are just all around great!!! While for the most part the staff and vets seem very nice, my 3 experiences here were less than desirable. Too many staff members and miscommunication lead to one too many issues with regard to my dogs. The vet did not do a dental check on my senior dog (to me a no brainer) when doing a wellness exam. They insisted my dogs needed rabies when in fact I proved they were up to date on all vaccines. In the end, my proof was valid but just too many cooks in the kitchen for my liking. When your animals are your family they deserve only the best. Unfortunately, this vet hospital is not that. I'd think twice before taking your pet here.Read Less

I haven't posted anything to Yelp in years.  But sitting here with a purring cat next to me who was so ill just 3 days ago, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the staff at Framingham Animal Hospital.  One of our cats started vomiting over the course of a weekend.  By the time Monday morning came, we'd tried every home remedy in the book.  When I called FAH, I was able to bring him in right away.  They reserve appointments for emergencies like this.  Dr. Monroe took great care of him.  Two days ago, we truly prepared for the worst.... Our cat was lethargic, could not even stand, and vomited bile in the exam room.  It was terrible to watch, and my heart was broken.  I didn't think he would make it, and the doctor was careful to prepare us for the worst.  Tonight he is sitting next to me, with a big scar in his belly, but happy and healthy.  These clinicians understand what it is to love a pet as a member of your family.   Dr. Monroe has emailed me on off-hours to see how Lucky is doing - any pet parent will understand how much that means.  Dr. Nord has treated my dog for persistent ear infections/ allergies, and was the first to tell me about Apoquel (if your dog has allergies, look it up, it's a game changer).  Reading through some other reviews, I suppose I agree they are on the expensive side... I don't think it's over the top.  And I'd pay this and more, every time, to get the level of care these veterinarians provide.  I received an email from our doctor with the subject line "hooray for poop!"   Enough said.  These people care:) Read Less

We've been bringing our 2 dogs and 1 cat to FAH since 2004. Several times the animals have been seriously ill and the docs always seemed very deliberate, methodical and diligent as they observed, examined, tested, diagnosed, treated and monitored the animals. We want to do the right thing for our animals. We have a limited budget. The docs are always very helpful about helping us decide where that money is best spent and which tests to do first in order to get the best health care. They have half a dozen docs and they consult readily with each other if there is a question. If they don't know something, they say so. If I phone in with a problem, there's always a doc who can speak with me right then. Often they can solve the problem right over the phone. Everyone here really seems to know and love what they do. Quality veterinary care may seem expensive but I'm pretty sure that these same people could be making more money in human medicine. I see very little turnover in the docs or staff. 10 years and countless visits and I can't think of a thing to complain about. I greatly value my personal relationship with all the helpful people here. This place is the kind of place u want to bring your animals to. The staff is so compassion, They make sure u know what's going on and what options you have. The doctors have been doing this for a long time, have up to date equipment. Most of all very caring with follow up calls to see how the animal is, and how are u. I like them as a practice, but gave them only 2 stars because they are OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. They charged me almost $90 to test a stool sample and give me a handful of inexpensive pills. They did not even see my dog! That's outrageous pricing. Read Less

Every experience I've had with FAH has been positive.  Their staff is thorough and patient.  Their facility is clean, welcoming, and exceptionally pet-friendly (they have a separate waiting area for cats!).  Dr. Yagodzinski is wonderful.  I adore her.  She is understanding, explains everything patiently, and so obviously loves what she does.  Their prices are pretty standard, I'd say.  I always feel ok with what I pay, and I believe it's a great value.  I feel like my cats are in great hands with this staff!  An additional note:  I had to utilize their emergency services this morning, and I could not be more pleased with the process.  When I called at 7am, a service answered with a chipper, friendly, caring voice.  She took some information and the on-call vet called me back within 5 minutes.  I explained what was going on and was told I could bring my sick little kitty in this morning.  I was so surprised, I thought I would have to wait for normal business hours!  I was able to get in, have her seen, get some meds, and get home in about 45 minutes from start to finish.  And that included an exam, x-ray, antibiotic and steroid injection, and suture removal!  And check-out!  All-in-all, I have been beyond pleased.  If you're considering using FAH, do it.  You won't regret the decision. I'd just like to say thanks to the staff of Framingham Animal Hospital. Recently, I experienced the dog-sitter's nightmare - one of the dogs I was watching hurt himself and I had to take him to the vet. Thankfully, Framingham Animal Hospital was great about keeping in touch with the owner, understood my situation regarding payment, answered all my questions and had excellent records of the dog's past visits/medications, of which I had minimal information. Dr Rabaut easily dealt with my grumpy charge, who has to be muzzled at the vet. He's bitey, but a sweet boy, so I was glad she treated him accordingly. She was not overly rough with him, as some people tend to be with aggressive dogs. She was very thorough and I felt very confident of her analysis. The xray techs also did a great job handling my canine friend.I will suggest that the staff be reminded to approach muzzled animals carefully, or ask before approaching. They should also educate their customers of the same thing. So many people just reached out their hands at my muzzled buddy without even questioning WHY a dog is muzzled in the first place??They should also make an effort to have water and bowls available, or offer them to panting dogs. Going to the Vet can be just as difficult as going to the doctor's office since our pets are our family too. I've had 2 cats (1 male terror I mean terror where my friends and family threw a party when he died, 1 sweet but fat female), 2 dogs (1 female 50 lb husky malamute - Aspen who I still miss so much), 2 hamsters, a bird (Sunny my first real pet...he was suppose to be yellow hence the Sunny but he was blue), many Betta fish, gold fish and lots of other types of fish and most recently I have about 100 tadpoles swimming around in the pool in my back yard. I OK I am a sucker for animals and could never never never (get the point?) work in a shelter. I am a sap when it comes to any kind of animal, creature, and reptile and would be that cat lady that everyone would talk about. I'd try to save every animal I could...feed'em, cuddle em, talk to em so it is much easier for me to donate food or money and lend support from a distance. So when I moved I had to leave the Vet I had been bringing my beloveds to for the past 20ish years. I was driving back and forth between MA and VT to have our regular annual appointments. Yes, I knew this couldn't last forever. However, Dr. Bob Mollica, Randolph Animal Hospital, being the great guy and Vet he is suggested I look up Dr. Rabaut at the Framingham Animal Hospital. Given he has known her for quite some time and I trust him I looked her up. Dr. Rabaut is a kind and knowledgeable person. I've been taking my 10 pound Energizer Yorkie here for the past two year. It is going to take me some time to adapt and get use to a new place. Like others I can be a creature (ha ha) of habit. Dr. Rabaut takes the time to listen, observe, evaluation and treat appropriately. This last visit I met with Dr. Monroe. She too took the time to listen and ask questions and give guidance. They are not in a rush to get to the next appointment/client and are helpful and relaxed which can put you at ease. However, I do find the examination room seems to be more of a consult room. When the time for blood work and immunization comes they take my pup out. I have always been with my pets during their medical treatment and do not like the fact that they are brought out. Brought out to where? What is happening to him? When will he be back? OK so I am a Mom and worry about this. Of course he came back and was fine but I'd rather be part of the actual process and procedure. The charges are a bit higher than what I am use to but overall I feel they are reasonable given they provided me with heart-worm, flea and tick, food samples along with the annual tests of blood work, stool sampling, shots, etc. Their waiting room is accommodating. There is a big walk on scale for easy weight checks. Hooks are available at the check in and checkout desks so you can hook your leash and have two hands free to wrap up any paperwork. Of course it smells like animals. What would you expect since pups are nervous which make them sprinkle. There is an outside walking area and clean up is a must. There are more pictures on their website so check them out. One area that I feel needs some help is their phone and answering system. I am not crazy about general voice-mail systems so maybe it is simply me. We are in the age of endless voice-mails and although it is needed there are times when talking to a human with a personal touch are needed. Leaving a message, to leave another message which starts "tag you're it" is time consuming when a simple question can be answered quickly. They do have an email reminder system so maybe they could answer quick questions via email. I am old fashion I like to talk to a human. However, with that said I want a Vet I can go to for good care and given many of their furry friends return time and again I think is a good sign. I've know people to have had terrible experience and some who have not gone home with their loved ones which is devastating so to have good doctors who care and are knowledgeable is by far the most important. They do care and are willing to take the time. Ohh almost forgot. I was looking for a local dog walker/pet sitter and spoke to a local woman about her services. She said she took her own pets to FAH and saw Dr. Rabaut as well so I called to inquire. Dr. Rabaut called me back and gave me the info I was looking for and was most pleasant and helpful. Read Less

We recently moved to Framingham and I received a recommendation for this animal hospital from a co-worker. He has been taking his pets here for 16 years - and I can see why! We recently made the very painful decision to have one of our cats put to sleep. He had a very aggressive form of cancer and we did not want him to suffer. I completely appreciate the compassionate and conservative approach Dr. Monroe took with our pet. She was completely diligent in getting a second opinion for us, providing us with all of our options in clear terms, and handled both us and our pet with compassionate care.
