This is a completely focused, totally local, caring veterinary practice. My pets have been through many procedures and illnesses, and I cannot say enough about the excellent care with this vet practice. I really, really love them. The staff is totally caring, and always very helpful. This is a team of really great, loving, devoted staff. A stalwart and knowledgeable haven on Cape Ann, for your animals. Not too pleased. They are not able to service special needs cats. I had never had a problem bringing my ragdoll to them, but they were unwilling to help my older tabbi and would rather fully sedate than give a calming medication that worked in the past at other vets. I will never go back to this vet. Had to cancel the appointment the day before because they informed me of this so late, even though everything had been set up weeks ago. Thankfully north shore vet is much more accommodating even though it will be a longer car ride it's worth it. Give your money to a location that cares about your pet. Like anywhere else. Read Less

We had to put our dog, who, of course, was like a member of the family, down a month or two ago. We have never been treated more respectfully and with such kindness under these trying circumstances. with such friendly staff its almost a joy to take my pup in, for both me and him! he is 100% deaf, so high stress situations can be tough for him, but he's never ever had an issue while at cape ann veterinary. from the second we walk in to the second we walk out he wags his tail. he gets lots of cuddles and treats from the techs, and he's always thrilled to see Dr. Doug French, his favorite doctor ever! today we had a more than wonderful quick visit (over something that was really nothing, but my worrying mind got the better of me), we were in and out in less than ten minutes, and my mind was put completely at ease. i can not see myself ever taking my dogs to any other vet. i highly recommend bringing your pets to this fantastic vet! thank you cape ann veterinary for keeping my Carter buddy healthy and handsome!Read Less

Where to even begin ... I will start by saying that ALL the docs and ALL the staff at Cape Ann Vet Hospital have been amazing. I purchased an English Bulldog puppy 8 years ago. I had never owned a dog before and had no idea that the dog I purchased was going to have an enormous amount of medical issues. This Vet helped me through every issue ... Ear infections, allergies, eye surgeries and many more. They loved and cared for my dog, Abby, until I had to put her down recently. They were very supportive of my decision and helped me through a very difficult few hours. Abby loved going to this vet and wasn't scared at all on that final day. I've taken my animals to Dr. Powell for years. He always takes time to listen to my concerns, he treats us fairly, and makes sure that my animals are well cared for without pushing for things that he doesn't feel are necessary just to make money! I recommend him to anyone that asks my opinion for a good local vet! Read Less

This was our go-to place for our animals. The only doctor we liked was Dr. Powell. He was great with the animals but if it was anyone else they didn't help out or explain anything to me. Thankfully I switched over to the Seaport Vet which was so much better now only if Dr. Powell would switch over too! Read Less

I really don't recommend this office. They are rude, condescending and cold. They overcharge on everything. The office is clean but this place is all business with little compassion for you or your pet. They also botched a surgery on my dog. Read Less

Complete ripoff! I leave there every time very upset. Over charge on everything. Receptionist was NOT helpful at all and all doctors do not care about the well being of your pets. Only interested in money at the Cape Ann Vet. Just lost a customer! Read Less
