We highly recommend Water’s Edge. We just had our 16 year old yorkie put to sleep and they helped us through that process. It was a very sad time for our family. I've been going to Waters Edge for several years. It all started when my vet, at that time, quoted me some outrageous price for a routine procedure on my dog.  My sister recommended Waters Edge and the procedure was half the price and the service was great.  I have been going there ever since and recommending them to all my friends. Peggy is a caring veterinarian and her staff is wonderful.  As with all things, life and age goes on.  Today, after many days of deliberation,  I had to put my companion of almost 15 years down.  It was not an easy decision but in due respect to my suffering pup it was the right one.  Right or wrong the emotions were overwhelming, Peg and her staff were were extremely sensitive and caring in providing this service, not only to my pup but also to me. I am a self proclaimed antivet. I have had terrible experiences with every one I've ever been to. I don't trust them, don't like the way they lay guilt trips on me and don't like feeling disrespected by them. All that changed yesterday. My dog was hurt and I needed to have him looked at. I chose to go there because it was close to home and they had an opening.The staff was friendly and accommodating. And Dr Barlow spoke to ME with compassion, understanding and personality. She has a no beating around the bush attitude and for the first time ever I left a vet feeling like I had gotten something more than an empty wallet.There's no question in my mind that I have found my vet! I was very disappointed with my experience at Waters Edge this time. I have been going there since I got my puppy and they were usually great. However, today I went in and was barely acknowledged way past the start time of my appointment. The doctor came in and was super friendly to the dog which was nice, but then just kind of spat information at me for what he needs to help his Lyme disease. I really wasn't sure on what exactly everything meant and how necessary it all was, seeing as I am not a doctor. Then another doctor just walked in and goes so that will be "350 dollars" and that I can deny it if I want. Of course I denied it because I felt very attacked. I know that these doctors know how to make my dog feel comfortable, but they have no clue how to make me, the dog's primary caretaker, feel comfortable in getting the care he needs. I also understand that that price is probably standard, so I will be paying for it at another vet. Read Less

We have been seeing Dr. Barlow for 5 years now for our 2 labs. She is a wonderful vet and really knows her stuff. Doesn't try to run a million tests and up the bill - only does what is necessary and then goes from there. She saved our lab at 4 - she had sarcoma in her mouth and Dr. Barlow did a wonderful job of treating her (and bringing in a surgeon for the complex surgeries). I have been going to Dr Barlow for the past 10 years.  She is a TERRIFFIC vet, that has a great bedside manner for both the furbabies and their "parents".  That is a rare talent with many pet professionals.  All of my furbabies are always excited to go see "Dr Peggy", they waggle their little butts the entire time they are in the waiting room, they can't wait to see her!  Unfortunately all of our visits have not been happy ones, but it makes it easier when your vet has the kindness and compassion to help your baby transition into peacefulness with dignity.  She is a wonderful person that truly cares about her patients.  I wish that there were more vets like her!
