Have A Heart Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary hospital specializing in the health care of dogs and cats. With the use of the latest techniques in veterinary medicine, our highly trained staff provides complete medical, surgical and dental care for all your pets. I was a huge fan until May 9, 2022. My diabetic cat has been a patient for 12 years and had severe watery diarrhea over the weekend. I told them he was looking weak, not really eating so I hadn't given him his insulin for 24 hours. I was told the first appt was 10 days away. I was horrified, he'd never live that long. I get it if they're busy and it was for a check up, but something that important, outrageous. What's the point of 12 years if you can't fit him in if not that day, the next. On top of that, I was on hold 8 mins then disconnected then 14 mins the second after someone out back picked up.
I've had an issue trying to get specialized diabetic food for his kidney disease when his regular prescription filled. It took 9 days for them to suggest a replacement and then approve the order.
As I said earlier, the care for 10 years was outstanding, Dr Grambow is the best and the staff was great. I had a couple of calls checking up on him since he is a special needs case and knew him by name. Since then, the staff has changed, no empathy at all and if you can't get past them, it's worthless. This last call was it, they didn't care and just blew off a 12 year special needs cat in crisis like he was worthless. I'm absolutely disgusted.

Very pleasant -I felt like they did really care. Dr. W. Grambrow has great expertise and is very careful to explain his approach and necessary testing. Also, the technicians and administrators are competent and timely in doing their job. They have a great referral program.

My dog was very sick and even though Have A Heart Animal Hospital was not my regular vet, they immediately saw my little patient. Dr. Grambow is very sensitive to your pet's needs and also considers your wallet.
On a follow up visit I dropped off a urine sample from my pet which accidentally leaked out the container onto the receptionists desk. She was very compassionate and quick in her clean up which made me feel comfortable.

Can't say enough good things about Have A Heart. Both Doctors Grambow provided skilled and compassionate care throughout my pet's lifetime. In February, just shy of his 16th birthday, I had to make the most difficult decision to put him down. Dr. Grambow comforted me and my pet. It was a very peaceful end and I will always be grateful for the kindness shown to me that day. Since it was still winter and I wanted to bring my guy home for burial but couldn't due to frozen ground, they held him there for me until May. I was able to bring him home to rest in our yard. Immediately following his passing, I received a sympathy card from Dr Grambow that recalled the uniqueness and funny charm of my little guy. It was comforting. Most recently I received a letter from Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine informing me that Drs Grambow made a donation to the school in memory of my pet. What a kind and generous gesture. It is clear that these doctors are committed to the work which they do so well. But above all, they love their animals. That came through to me during each and every visit I ever had there. Like I said, can't say enough good things about this office and when the time comes and I feel able to have another pet, this is where I will go.

During my cat Brady's recent illness, I was back and forth to Have a Heart with Brady several times. They kept him at the vet for the day to monitor him a couple of times. I can't tell you how comforting it was to me that the entire staff and Dr.'s Grambow were all so supportive and engaged. They have called me several times to keep me up to date on meds and action plan, and to just check in to make sure Brady is ok. The entire staff at Have a Heart are totally awesome!

Have been going since ~2005. Dr. Pelletier was incredible, Dr. Grambow ( Both Mr. and Mrs. ) are great as well. I'm picky with my vets, and they do the things that are most important to me. They give honest answers and come at their practice from a point of view of "what is in the best interest of your pet". They have never been pushy, and I've never felt like they were trying to sell me something that I didn't need, I'm thankful for that. They have been cost conscious, giving us all of our medical options and taking the extra time to explain the benefits/fallbacks of each, and worked hard to come up with care solutions for all of our dogs that not only provided the best possible care to them, but also fit within our range of what we were financially able to do with our pets. To date, Have A Heart has cared for 4 of our dogs through a number of serious health problems from cruciate surgery and epilepsy to cancer. They have also been extremely sensitive to our needs when we have had to say goodbye to one of our pups. Not sure what more to say... I like them, I'll go back.

The doctors have no idea what they are doing. I went in telling them what was wrong with my cat and they said it didn't seem like that was the problem. They had to perform a "physical" and then did so...
The doctors have no idea what they are doing. I went in telling them what was wrong with my cat and they said it didn't seem like that was the problem. They had to perform a "physical" and then did some other tests, which "couldn't be completed" be the cat was too uncomfortable. In the end they admitted the problem was what I said and fixed it. Only after they uncharged me for everything and then tried to get me to "pre-pay" for the next visit. Not only that my cat came out covered in its own urine and put back into the carrier. Place is disgusting and dishonest. Greedy people which I will never spend my money at again. Should have read the reviews beforehand.

Last straw...last appointment... $56.68 for 6 pills of a common antibiotic.... 1800PetMeds a bottle of 200 pills, same dosage less than $4.00. I have 4 healthy dogs thank goodness and even I can't afford this place. They need to be reported.

Love this place! The most caring compassionate staff! Dr. Grambow is incredible...so caring and knowledgeable! The nurses are awesome...so loving and sweet and comical. Within the past year I had to have one of our dogs neutered and his teeth extracted. They were wonderful and showed compassion with the cost because we also have another dog that was diagnosed with cancer and is receiving chemo. The staff also call us to see how our cancer patient is doing. We get phone calls from Dr. G giving us test results and him praising us as to how well we are caring for our dogs. I have not one complaint. I do hear that they are a little more pricey than other vets...but as the saying goes...you get what you pay for. I think this place is wonderful and would never consider going anywhere else as long as the dr and nurses stay put.

My newly adopted French Bulldog encountered a ruptured abscess of her anal sac/gland over the weekend. I called Have A Heart late on Saturday and they were able to schedule me in for Monday. Without even being a loyal patient of their's - they allowed me to write a post dated check and bring her right in. They provided her with anal sac/gland expressing at no charge, as well as take care of the flushing of her abscess, all I had to pay for was a few shots that she needed updated and some antibiotics. They were very kind and caring towards the situation and it meant alot to me since vets can be a bit pricey when emergencies come up. Kahlua has a follow up in two weeks and I will be happy to bring her back there!

I cant say enough good things about Have a Heart and the crew there. I've been bringing my little furry loves there for nearly 7 years now and have yet to have a bad experience. This Saturday, we had an emergency with one of our cats. We called, not expecting to be seen right away, but were shocked when they told us to come right in and gave us an appointment time of less than 30 minutes from the time of the call.

I only stumbled across this Animal Hospital because it was close to home but I'm so glad I found it. It is always a great experience. The facility is clean and inviting. The staff is super friendly, always knowledgeable and I overall trust them with my furry little guy. They are so great with my nervous puppy and always manage to put him at ease almost immediately. I have not shopped around, so I do not know how the prices are relative to other places. I just know that I will pay any price to have my puppy in good health and checked by trustworthy professionals. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Dr. Paul Pelletier has been great with our dog Clooney. A few years ago, Clooney was having funky symptoms and Dr. Pelletier diagnosed him with a liver shunt. He was very clear that Clooney would need a specialist. Since then, we use Have a Heart for all of our "routine" appointments- Clooney needs a lot of them, and the staff has been great.I've heard that it is a little pricey here, but when it comes to Clooney, we have always found a way to make it work. If you are anything like us, when it is your pet, you'll do anything for them! We have also called Have a Heart looking for Vet advice, and Dr. Pelletier has always called back in a timely manner, and never rushed us off the phone.We always have a good feeling that Clooney is being well cared for. This is very important to us, as Clooney is our "baby" and a VERY important part of our family.

I can't say enough good things about Have a Heart. Shortly after moving to the area, one of my cats became sluggish and wasn't moving from the bed. It was especially strange since he got a clean bill of health from his old very before we moved. On the recommendation of a friend, I brought the cat to Have a Heart. Come to find out, he was sluggish due to a low red cell count - my cat's organs were literally starved for oxygen. He had some kind of infection or bone cancer. They treated the symptoms but warned me that that was a short term fix if it was cancer. He had likely had this problem for years but his body had slowly adjusted to it. Within a month or two he began to struggle for oxygen and I rushed him in. The staff at Have a Heart went into emergency mode and literally saved him from the brink of death. Unfortunately, no one could save him again. The staff at Have a Heart have is a few extra months we wouldn't have had otherwise. I don't live near the office anymore but I drive the other cats 20 to 30 minutes for their regular check-ups. I know they will do everything they can to keep my cats healthy and happy.

I've brought 3 of my cats here and have always been happy with the service. It's always very clean and I have not seen much, if any turnover with the staff. The vet techs are always so nice and they really seem to care about the animals. One of the techs, Tracie, always remembers us and our cats' names. When we had to put down our cat Milo, she spoke with us and was very kind and reassuring.I have seen both Dr. Pelletier and Dr. Orzech and both have been great and they try to explain everything well.Dr. Orzech especially is very kind and caring, she took the time to check in on my cat when we were in for a test to say hi, even though she wasn't treating him that day. We recently had a cat who got very sick and had to be put to sleep, and she wrote a personal letter in the sympathy card, which was unexpected and very appreciated. They seem to charge a little more than other vet offices, but they always take good care of our pets and I don't worry about anything bad happening while they're there. They do accept CareCredit and offer 6 months free of interest on every transaction with the CC card.

I could not believe how they treated me and most importantly my dog. They told my he cannot have the shot without a physical. They took him to the backroom and I could hear him screaming in pain! I came out the room and demanded my dog. This rude receptionist came out and yelled at me and said You can have your dog but he is not going to get a radies shot! One second later my dof came out.

The next day I brought him to Bulger in North Andover and within 4 minutes was told that he had advanced Lymes disease and that his kidneys were too far gone to save him, and the humane thing would be to put him down. All Have a Heart cares about is making money, they couldn't diagnose the problem when they already knew the dog had Lymes disease. If you care at all about your animal you will not bring them here!!!

I used to bring Jackie here. We changed as we saw a large turnover of staff and the place was not that clean. The staff appeared to be caring, but there are better choices in the area. .I just do not want to take a chance on any thing bad happening.

I was a huge fan until May 9, 2022. My diabetic cat has been a patient for 12 years and had severe watery diarrhea over the weekend. I told them he was looking weak, not really eating so I hadn't given him his insulin for 24 hours. I was told the first appt was 10 days away. I was horrified, he'd never live that long. I get it if they're busy and it was for a check up, but something that important, outrageous. What's the point of 12 years if you can't fit him in if not that day, the next. On top of that, I was on hold 8 mins then disconnected then 14 mins the second after someone out back picked up.
I've had an issue trying to get specialized diabetic food for his kidney disease when his regular prescription filled. It took 9 days for them to suggest a replacement and then approve the order.
As I said earlier, the care for 10 years was outstanding, Dr Grambow is the best and the staff was great. I had a couple of calls checking up on him since he is a special needs case and knew him by name. Since then, the staff has changed, no empathy at all and if you can't get past them, it's worthless. This last call was it, they didn't care and just blew off a 12 year special needs cat in crisis like he was worthless. I'm absolutely disgusted.

Also, the technicians and administrators are competent and timely in doing their job. They have a great referral program.

My dog was very sick and even though Have A Heart Animal Hospital was not my regular vet, they immediately saw my little patient. Dr. Grambow is very sensitive to your pet's needs and also considers your wallet.
On a follow up visit I dropped off a urine sample from my pet which accidentally leaked out the container onto the receptionists desk. She was very compassionate and quick in her clean up which made me feel comfortable.

Can't say enough good things about Have A Heart. Both Doctors Grambow provided skilled and compassionate care throughout my pet's lifetime. In February, just shy of his 16th birthday, I had to make the most difficult decision to put him down. Dr. Grambow comforted me and my pet. It was a very peaceful end and I will always be grateful for the kindness shown to me that day. Since it was still winter and I wanted to bring my guy home for burial but couldn't due to frozen ground, they held him there for me until May. I was able to bring him home to rest in our yard. Immediately following his passing, I received a sympathy card from Dr Grambow that recalled the uniqueness and funny charm of my little guy. It was comforting. Most recently I received a letter from Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine informing me that Drs Grambow made a donation to the school in memory of my pet. What a kind and generous gesture. It is clear that these doctors are committed to the work which they do so well. But above all, they love their animals. That came through to me during each and every visit I ever had there. Like I said, can't say enough good things about this office and when the time comes and I feel able to have another pet, this is where I will go.

During my cat Brady's recent illness, I was back and forth to Have a Heart with Brady several times. They kept him at the vet for the day to monitor him a couple of times. I can't tell you how comforting it was to me that the entire staff and Dr.'s Grambow were all so supportive and engaged. They have called me several times to keep me up to date on meds and action plan, and to just check in to make sure Brady is ok. The entire staff at Have a Heart are totally awesome!

Have been going since ~2005. Dr. Pelletier was incredible, Dr. Grambow ( Both Mr. and Mrs. ) are great as well. I'm picky with my vets, and they do the things that are most important to me. They give honest answers and come at their practice from a point of view of "what is in the best interest of your pet". They have never been pushy, and I've never felt like they were trying to sell me something that I didn't need, I'm thankful for that. They have been cost conscious, giving us all of our medical options and taking the extra time to explain the benefits/fallbacks of each, and worked hard to come up with care solutions for all of our dogs that not only provided the best possible care to them, but also fit within our range of what we were financially able to do with our pets. To date, Have A Heart has cared for 4 of our dogs through a number of serious health problems from cruciate surgery and epilepsy to cancer. They have also been extremely sensitive to our needs when we have had to say goodbye to one of our pups. Not sure what more to say... I like them, I'll go back.

The doctors have no idea what they are doing. I went in telling them what was wrong with my cat and they said it didn't seem like that was the problem. They had to perform a "physical" and then did so...
The doctors have no idea what they are doing. I went in telling them what was wrong with my cat and they said it didn't seem like that was the problem. They had to perform a "physical" and then did some other tests, which "couldn't be completed" be the cat was too uncomfortable. In the end they admitted the problem was what I said and fixed it. Only after they uncharged me for everything and then tried to get me to "pre-pay" for the next visit. Not only that my cat came out covered in its own urine and put back into the carrier. Place is disgusting and dishonest. Greedy people which I will never spend my money at again. Should have read the reviews beforehand.

Last straw...last appointment... $56.68 for 6 pills of a common antibiotic.... 1800PetMeds a bottle of 200 pills, same dosage less than $4.00. I have 4 healthy dogs thank goodness and even I can't afford this place. They need to be reported.

Love this place! The most caring compassionate staff! Dr. Grambow is incredible...so caring and knowledgeable! The nurses are awesome...so loving and sweet and comical. Within the past year I had to have one of our dogs neutered and his teeth extracted. They were wonderful and showed compassion with the cost because we also have another dog that was diagnosed with cancer and is receiving chemo. The staff also call us to see how our cancer patient is doing. We get phone calls from Dr. G giving us test results and him praising us as to how well we are caring for our dogs. I have not one complaint. I do hear that they are a little more pricey than other vets...but as the saying goes...you get what you pay for. I think this place is wonderful and would never consider going anywhere else as long as the dr and nurses stay put.

They are horrible with customers, have out dated equipment, and love to charge by your emotions!! Think im joking?? Ill Post the quotes on a dedicated site to warn people of these scam artists!! My newly adopted French Bulldog encountered a ruptured abscess of her anal sac/gland over the weekend. I called Have A Heart late on Saturday and they were able to schedule me in for Monday. Without even being a loyal patient of their's - they allowed me to write a post dated check and bring her right in. They provided her with anal sac/gland expressing at no charge, as well as take care of the flushing of her abscess, all I had to pay for was a few shots that she needed updated and some antibiotics. They were very kind and caring towards the situation and it meant alot to me since vets can be a bit pricey when emergencies come up. Kahlua has a follow up in two weeks and I will be happy to bring her back there!

I cant say enough good things about Have a Heart and the crew there. I've been bringing my little furry loves there for nearly 7 years now and have yet to have a bad experience. This Saturday, we had an emergency with one of our cats. We called, not expecting to be seen right away, but were shocked when they told us to come right in and gave us an appointment time of less than 30 minutes from the time of the call.

The staff is super friendly, always knowledgeable and I overall trust them with my furry little guy. They are so great with my nervous puppy and always manage to put him at ease almost immediately. I have not shopped around, so I do not know how the prices are relative to other places. I just know that I will pay any price to have my puppy in good health and checked by trustworthy professionals. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Dr. Paul Pelletier has been great with our dog Clooney. A few years ago, Clooney was having funky symptoms and Dr. Pelletier diagnosed him with a liver shunt. He was very clear that Clooney would need a specialist. Since then, we use Have a Heart for all of our "routine" appointments- Clooney needs a lot of them, and the staff has been great.I've heard that it is a little pricey here, but when it comes to Clooney, we have always found a way to make it work. If you are anything like us, when it is your pet, you'll do anything for them! We have also called Have a Heart looking for Vet advice, and Dr. Pelletier has always called back in a timely manner, and never rushed us off the phone.We always have a good feeling that Clooney is being well cared for. This is very important to us, as Clooney is our "baby" and a VERY important part of our family.

I can't say enough good things about Have a Heart. Shortly after moving to the area, one of my cats became sluggish and wasn't moving from the bed. It was especially strange since he got a clean bill of health from his old very before we moved. On the recommendation of a friend, I brought the cat to Have a Heart. Come to find out, he was sluggish due to a low red cell count - my cat's organs were literally starved for oxygen. He had some kind of infection or bone cancer. They treated the symptoms but warned me that that was a short term fix if it was cancer. He had likely had this problem for years but his body had slowly adjusted to it. Within a month or two he began to struggle for oxygen and I rushed him in. The staff at Have a Heart went into emergency mode and literally saved him from the brink of death. Unfortunately, no one could save him again. The staff at Have a Heart have is a few extra months we wouldn't have had otherwise. I don't live near the office anymore but I drive the other cats 20 to 30 minutes for their regular check-ups. I know they will do everything they can to keep my cats healthy and happy.

I've brought 3 of my cats here and have always been happy with the service. It's always very clean and I have not seen much, if any turnover with the staff. The vet techs are always so nice and they really seem to care about the animals. One of the techs, Tracie, always remembers us and our cats' names. When we had to put down our cat Milo, she spoke with us and was very kind and reassuring.I have seen both Dr. Pelletier and Dr. Orzech and both have been great and they try to explain everything well.Dr. Orzech especially is very kind and caring, she took the time to check in on my cat when we were in for a test to say hi, even though she wasn't treating him that day. We recently had a cat who got very sick and had to be put to sleep, and she wrote a personal letter in the sympathy card, which was unexpected and very appreciated. They seem to charge a little more than other vet offices, but they always take good care of our pets and I don't worry about anything bad happening while they're there. They do accept CareCredit and offer 6 months free of interest on every transaction with the CC card.

I could not believe how they treated me and most importantly my dog. They told my he cannot have the shot without a physical. They took him to the backroom and I could hear him screaming in pain! I came out the room and demanded my dog. This rude receptionist came out and yelled at me and said You can have your dog but he is not going to get a radies shot! One second later my dof came out.

The next day I brought him to Bulger in North Andover and within 4 minutes was told that he had advanced Lymes disease and that his kidneys were too far gone to save him, and the humane thing would be to put him down. All Have a Heart cares about is making money, they couldn't diagnose the problem when they already knew the dog had Lymes disease. If you care at all about your animal you will not bring them here!!!

I would highly recommend Susan O'Dell DVM and the staff. On 6/4/09 I brought my elderly cat (16 years) ""Sam"" there. His health was failing and before I walked in the door ""I knew the outcome"". ...
I would highly recommend Susan O'Dell DVM and the staff. On 6/4/09 I brought my elderly cat (16 years) ""Sam"" there. His health was failing and before I walked in the door ""I knew the outcome"". His heart was giving out and my heart was breaking. They treated and consoled both of us. They handled Sam with respect and love as he ""passed"".

I used to bring Jackie here. We changed as we saw a large turnover of staff and the place was not that clean. The staff appeared to be caring, but there are better choices in the area. .I just do not ...

I've been there several times. The staff is friendly, the veterinarian there is great. I would highly recommend it.
