I have gone to Dr. Henderson for over 30 years with my German Shepherds and found that she is very professional and knowledgeable in the health and welfare of my dogs. I had a dog Teddi that had a problem with suspected jaw cancer and she sent me to another vet for surgery and all went well and affordable surgery.
My latest dog Maxx was taken care of by all of the patient and courteous staff since I rescued him. I do appreciate all they did when I had issues and would gladly bring any animal there.

I get upset when I see a low rating- but I understand it too. However, many of times the best & smartest doctors aren't the most social ones. If you're doing something wrong- dr Henderson will let u know for the good of u & ur pet. She may not get emotional if putting your pet down- but you have to detach yourself so you can continue through the day. I've been going to her with my cats & dogs for 20yrs and there's nobody I'd trust more. She doesn't overcharge or run unnecessary tests- but she will tell u if you're doing something wrong- but would u expect any less from the doctor ur entrusting with the well being of your pet??! PS- I don't work there or personally know any employees- so this is my unbiased honest opinion!

This place killed my dog. Brought my German Shepard in to have his teeth cleaned. Then the vet called and said my dog died. Turns out they overdosed my dog on anesthesia during the teeth cleaning!

Dr. Henderson has been our vet for more than 14 years. She took care of Ozzy, our chocolate lab, from when we got him at nine months old; until we finally had to release his arthritis ridden body to send him over the rainbow bridge. Her staff was always so sweet and attentive. She has also taken care of our 2 Rotties and a crazy 18 year old Jack Russell/ Chihuahua. I would not take any of our animals anywhere else!

Dr. Henderson and staff have done right by me. I have been seeing her for treatment of my small dog for years - excellent care, no gratuitous or unnecessary procedures, just very good veterinary medicine with reasonable fees and appropriate remedies. Dr. H. Is soft-spoken and direct with pet owners. The negative reviews (above) don't seem plausible- given my very positive and long-standing history with HAH.

DO NOT GO HERE! We were patients here for a year and have had nothing but bad experiences. First off the vet here dr. Henderson is very abrasive to the point we're here staff isn't that fond of her, she is out of touch on her thinking and our new vet disagrees with a lot of her advise. 2nd she gave our dog a cortisone shot to try and help her allergies and she ended up breaking out in hives and haveing a bad reaction to it. Dr. Henderson blamed the grass!? The same grass she had been playing in for a year and never had a reaction to. The last straw was when our dog spent all night throwing up, we called when they opens to try and squeeze her in for a visit. We were turned away because they were "over booked". So obviously new patients were more important then a current one. She is the worst vet we've been to and we will never step foot in there again! I suggest you do the same!

Took my mother here to have her dog be put to sleep and got no compassion from the "vet" that was doing the administration. She belittled my mother, in so few words called her an idiot. Instead of being there to console my mother I had to leave the room so I wouldn't exasperate the situation. The woman made a horrible situation worse with her miserable bed side manner in an obviously hard time. I live 5 minutes from there and will gladly take my business else where for my dog and pay more money to avoid this horrid "vet clinic" if I could give less than one star I absolutely would

I've been bringing my pup to Dr. Henderson for 4 years now and I'm so lucky to have found such a well-informed and reasonable vet. Yes, she is no BS and not over the top with the smalltalk. I appreciate that. Her staff has been very kind and helpful to us during many emergencies and my dog's health has greatly improved with her care. I was told at another local vet I would need a $3000 surgery to remove a part of her anatomy that was never actually causing the problem. Rather than rushing to the pricey option, Dr. Henderson did repeated tests and exams and made an informed and humane decision. My pup is quite healthy now and the surgery was obviously unnecessary. Dr. Henderson also explains the issues, including drawing diagrams, so that I can completely understand the situation and the options. When my pup has been sick her staff has called me to check up on her. After ER visits elsewhere, the staff calls to check up on my her. It's a very sweet gesture and has always been appreciated.This vet isn't handing out hugs to distraught pet owners, but that's not what I was looking for in a vet. I was looking for someone who is informed and experienced. I found it here.

This place is the worst. If you call, you get a cold, toneless voice with no empathy if it's an emergency. If you go to the front desk, you get the same un-energenic, non-empathetic, barely pet-friendly, non-smiling staff. And it continues when you actually see the vet. She's cold with no table-side manners. She does whatever little is necessary and that is all. Have a question? Don't expect a straight answer. Don't understand the instructions for using the medicine given? Don't ask, because they don't understand them either. Follow the instructions, and sometimes they'll tell you that you didn't do something correctly even though they are the ones that wrote the instructions. Show anyone there that you're scared or worried about your pet and again, you won't get any empathy or reasoning why not to worry. I understand that this place deals with worried pet-owners on an hourly basis, but it's no excuse to be cold to the clients.Please don't bring your pets here unless absolutely necessary. There are other vets in the Holyoke-South Hadley area that are much better and friendlier.

I have gone to Dr. Henderson for over 30 years with my German Shepherds and found that she is very professional and knowledgeable in the health and welfare of my dogs. I had a dog Teddi that had a problem with suspected jaw cancer and she sent me to another vet for surgery and all went well and affordable surgery.
